This Tool Rocks (Swift Driver by Master Mechanic)

Jul 13, 2012 By Layla

Remember those window treatments I blogged about the other day?

Well, part of our 2012 DIY Blog Squad duties involved trying out a new tool from True Value, and since we used it to put those window blinds up, I thought this would be a good time to blog about it. It’s called the Swift Driver, and it’s made by Master Mechanic…

We recorded a little video to show how much easier it made the un-fun task of hanging blinds…

Pretty handy dandy, eh?

To be honest, when we first got it, we were sort of thinking it was just going to be one more unused tool in our already jam-packed, mess of a tool room. But we’ve used it several times since the day we hung the blinds, and we’re thinking we can probably just get rid of the 8 million regular screwdrivers we have laying around because this thing works so much better than they do.

Which gives me an idea. (Literally just hit my brain as I am typing this.)

Kev! Let’s give away a couple of Swift Drivers! (I just yelled that to him from my desk.)

(He just responded, “Okay!”)

So- if you’d like to enter for a chance to win one, just leave us a comment on this post (if you’re reading this in an email, you’ll have to click over to our blog to leave a comment) between now and Monday, July 16th (9am CST) and we’ll randomly select a couple of winners sometime after that. Good luck!

This post is part of our 2012 True Value DIY Blog Squad series.

I would love to have one of these handy dandy little gadgets! I have a stash of my own tools and I could use this for my collection. Everyone in the house always borrows my tools because they can’t find their own (maybe need to be careful where they put them away perhaps???). I will guard this with my life lol.

I’ve been reading your blog for several months now and love everything u guys do. Like the both of u my husband and I do projects together and have for 25 years. The tool u demonstrated was so cool even I can figure it out. let’s face it some tools can be very difficult or intimidating at best. Your home is certainly coming together and this is one of my favorite blogs. Thx for sharing and giving older people new ideas.

Since I don’t have a great guy like Kevin, I’m always on the look out for tools that help me get the job done myself. This great screwdriver set would help get rid of all those little ones I have all over the place and that goose neck would really come in handy. Many thanks for the chance to win!!!
