This Tool Rocks (Swift Driver by Master Mechanic)

Jul 13, 2012 By Layla

Remember those window treatments I blogged about the other day?

Well, part of our 2012 DIY Blog Squad duties involved trying out a new tool from True Value, and since we used it to put those window blinds up, I thought this would be a good time to blog about it. It’s called the Swift Driver, and it’s made by Master Mechanic…

We recorded a little video to show how much easier it made the un-fun task of hanging blinds…

Pretty handy dandy, eh?

To be honest, when we first got it, we were sort of thinking it was just going to be one more unused tool in our already jam-packed, mess of a tool room. But we’ve used it several times since the day we hung the blinds, and we’re thinking we can probably just get rid of the 8 million regular screwdrivers we have laying around because this thing works so much better than they do.

Which gives me an idea. (Literally just hit my brain as I am typing this.)

Kev! Let’s give away a couple of Swift Drivers! (I just yelled that to him from my desk.)

(He just responded, “Okay!”)

So- if you’d like to enter for a chance to win one, just leave us a comment on this post (if you’re reading this in an email, you’ll have to click over to our blog to leave a comment) between now and Monday, July 16th (9am CST) and we’ll randomly select a couple of winners sometime after that. Good luck!

Cool tool! My husband would love it. He’s a gadget guy and his philosophy is ” You can never have to many tools!” thanks, I enjoy your blog very much.

The goose neck attachment looks really amazing. I’m thinking about all those times I’ve have to resort to gymnastics to get a weird screw in….this would have been a lot easier!

This would be a great tool for my Husband. He just turned 64 and is not as agile as he once was and this would be so much easier for him to use, while not having to strain his back or shoulders in those tight areas’

    Hey Layla and Kevin,
This would totally be an awesome tool to have in stash. Probably like most, I have all size of screwdrivers an it can get a bit frustrating when needing to screw something in and its either at a wierd angle (like above) or because of the over abundance of tools I DONT need, its just hard to find. So this would totally be cool!!!

Thanks to you both for this great giveaway but more importantly…for bringing inspiration to my life EVERY day!!!! 🙂

Sure, I’d like to be considered for that tool giveaway. The women in my family have had to hide their tools in the lingerie drawer to keep the men from misplacing them. Since my son moved out my tools have majorly diminished. By the way, love what you did with Kevin’s Moms back porch.
