Remember those window treatments I blogged about the other day?

Well, part of our 2012 DIY Blog Squad duties involved trying out a new tool from True Value, and since we used it to put those window blinds up, I thought this would be a good time to blog about it. It’s called the Swift Driver, and it’s made by Master Mechanic…

We recorded a little video to show how much easier it made the un-fun task of hanging blinds…
Pretty handy dandy, eh?
To be honest, when we first got it, we were sort of thinking it was just going to be one more unused tool in our already jam-packed, mess of a tool room. But we’ve used it several times since the day we hung the blinds, and we’re thinking we can probably just get rid of the 8 million regular screwdrivers we have laying around because this thing works so much better than they do.
Which gives me an idea. (Literally just hit my brain as I am typing this.)
Kev! Let’s give away a couple of Swift Drivers! (I just yelled that to him from my desk.)
(He just responded, “Okay!”)

Cool tool! My husband would love it. He’s a gadget guy and his philosophy is ” You can never have to many tools!” thanks, I enjoy your blog very much.
I am actually getting ready to purchase new blinds for my home office. Thank you for the giveaway and for your generosity!
By the way, I’ve enjoyed all your posts this week, and love watching your home office/guest room evolve!
Thanks for the chance to win. And I am loving the new room.
Awesome. I NEED this tool!
The goose neck attachment looks really amazing. I’m thinking about all those times I’ve have to resort to gymnastics to get a weird screw in….this would have been a lot easier!
Just moved into a house with 27 windows!.. Need blinds asap and maybe this would make the task more bearable! Thanks
I could use anything that makes work easier! Thanks!
Looks like an awesome tool! Thanks Layla!!
Yes please!!!
This tool looks like it could make some projects less stressful. I like the gooseneck feature. Thanks for a great blog!
Looks neat! Have a great weekend! Happy screwing… 🙂 (sorry-that was just too easy)
Very cool gadget!!
This would be a great tool for my Husband. He just turned 64 and is not as agile as he once was and this would be so much easier for him to use, while not having to strain his back or shoulders in those tight areas’
That is cool! I can think of many projects I would use that on!
Yes! I have such a hard time getting into tight places with tools. This looks great.
That sounds like something that I could use without causing too much trouble!
Have a wonderful weekend!
would love one-have struggled hanging roman shades and blinds for yrs!
I would LOVE one of these. I just bought my first house and this would help (my wrist fatigue!) with all of my little projects.
Love this tool! I just bought my first home and have been doing a lot of repairs and do it yourself projects, so this would come in very handy! Thanks for all your helpful hints on your blog:) You’ve inspired me to create my own cottage home.
great tool. this would make my life easier since my husband hates hanging blinds and curtains. i need one of these!
Wow, this looks like an awesome tool to try.
Hi, this looks like a wonderful tool and I would love to try it out on some projects!
My husband can always use anything that makes his “honey-do” jobs easier!
That looks like a nifty tool!!! Entering to win one!
This tool looks really nifty! Would love to own one!
That looks like an awesome tool to use. I would love to win one! Thanks for the demo!!!
Cool tool! I’d love to win one! Thanks!
Hey Layla and Kevin,
This would totally be an awesome tool to have in stash. Probably like most, I have all size of screwdrivers an it can get a bit frustrating when needing to screw something in and its either at a wierd angle (like above) or because of the over abundance of tools I DONT need, its just hard to find. So this would totally be cool!!!
Thanks to you both for this great giveaway but more importantly…for bringing inspiration to my life EVERY day!!!! 🙂
That looks like a great tool! I’d love to try it out.
I’d love to win this handy tool!
Thanks for the giveaway. I would love to win one.
Pick me! Pick me! Please…..
I would love to win this for my husband. He just retired and I have a huge honey do list for him. Maybe this will sweeten him up 🙂
Looks like an awesome tool. I can already think of things I’d use it for. Well, that means EVERYTHING, of course.
That looks like something I could really use – thanks!
That thing is so cool! Would be very handy to hang up all our new window treatments when we move soon. 🙂
Wow that looks like something my husband would love.
Oh yes! I could do this! I really could use this tool to accomplish so many of my DIY tasks around here. Yep, would sure love it.
Way cool!!!
Wow great tool!!
My daughter and brand new husband just purchased their first (fixer upper, of course) house so this would be a great help in getting them started!
I would love one, thanks
Yes, yes, yes! Would LOVE to have one of these…what a great little tool! Thanks for taking the time to show it to us!
Sure, I’d like to be considered for that tool giveaway. The women in my family have had to hide their tools in the lingerie drawer to keep the men from misplacing them. Since my son moved out my tools have majorly diminished. By the way, love what you did with Kevin’s Moms back porch.
This looks like a great tool! I will probably have to hide it in my toolbox otherwise, my hubby will want it!
I would LOVE to be able to throw all of our random screwdrivers away! This looks awesome.
I have been following your blog for almost a year now! Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration! (and the chance to win!)
We are new to the DIY world, but we are loving every minute. It’s always helpful to have the right tools to make the job easier! Thanks!
Awesome tool!
Neat screwdriver1 I have chairs I’ve needed recovered forever but the screws are to tricky….maybe this tool would do it!
