Remember those window treatments I blogged about the other day?

Well, part of our 2012 DIY Blog Squad duties involved trying out a new tool from True Value, and since we used it to put those window blinds up, I thought this would be a good time to blog about it. It’s called the Swift Driver, and it’s made by Master Mechanic…

We recorded a little video to show how much easier it made the un-fun task of hanging blinds…
Pretty handy dandy, eh?
To be honest, when we first got it, we were sort of thinking it was just going to be one more unused tool in our already jam-packed, mess of a tool room. But we’ve used it several times since the day we hung the blinds, and we’re thinking we can probably just get rid of the 8 million regular screwdrivers we have laying around because this thing works so much better than they do.
Which gives me an idea. (Literally just hit my brain as I am typing this.)
Kev! Let’s give away a couple of Swift Drivers! (I just yelled that to him from my desk.)
(He just responded, “Okay!”)

Who couldn’t use a tool that ‘ROCKS’??? I sure could… count me in!
So perfect!! We just signed a contract on a new house TODAY!! My husband and I have been teachers in Mexico for the last few years and haven’t had a home of our own for 8 years now!! I’m so excited to paint and put up curtain rods and do all of those amazing things that we haven’t been able to do! The nifty little swift driver would be perfect (especially since buying a new house means we won’t have much money left for tools!)…thanks for the great giveaway!
I’d LOVE to have one of these…how useful!!! Thanks!
thanks for the giveaway, I hope I win one!
sign me up!! I hate using a regular screwdriver and my drill has too much oomph!
Would love to win this tool. My husband is a handy man would love a new tool.
This looks awesome! I’d love a chance to try it!! Thanks!! 🙂
This looks like a great little tool to have in my toolbox!
What a cool tool! (And your hubby is so cute.)
I have those curtains.
I’d love to win one of these. It looks like it’s so handy – and more of an “all in one” type screwdriver. It would really clean-up the old tool box as it is right now, that’s for sure! Thank you so much for the chance to win!
My husband would love to have this, so I should win!!
Ahh i would love to have it.
Nice! A much more efficient ratchet. Time to upgrade my toolbox.
Well first off- that tool is totally awesome!!! Second my husband is a carpenter and I have yet to come across a screwdriver when I need one!!!!! I am the one that does all the little jobs around the house and he hoards all the tools!! I really need one of those!!! lol 🙂
I’d love to win one of these…it sounds cool! Thanks.
oooh I’d love to win! 🙂
Would love to be more DIY with this!
Love how your room Is coming together!! I am slightly obsessed with board covered walls and some day it will happen in my house!! Oh and I would love to win one of those awesome screwdrivers!!
I would love to win one of these, they seem like they’d be a dream with Ikea furniture.
Ummmm, yeah would LOVe to win one of these baby’s!! Since I am the primary handyman’ in this house~I could totally use that!!! Plus I love to win things~who doesn’t!! 😉
Great Tool! I want it……………
Thanks
Brenda
I think I like it too!! No more smashed knuckles and faces in hard to reach places…
I would love, and could truly use, the Swift Driver! My son moved out last summer and in my love for him, I handed him my tool bag, and pretty much all my tools!! He thought it was generous, I’m now seeing it was a mistake! I miss my tools!
I’d LOVE to win one!!!! Yay!
Cool! That looks like a great addition for the toolbox!
I’d love to add that to my collection of screwdrivers (that I can never find). Does it come in pink? I’m only half-kidding on that – my boys won’t touch my pink tools. I’m not a fan of the color myself, but it works well for me when I need a tool. 🙂
Love your blog, and that tool looks great! I’ve been doing a lot of little “spruce ups” around my place and a tool like that looks like it would be really useful!
I could use that tool. Yep, I coul
Just Love this tool. I gave my husband a hard time every time I want to move or screw something. Please add me in your list to win this awesome tool,
Katia
I love that video and would love to try that tool!
I bet if you pick my name, my husband would want to look at your blog on a regular basis. Or more regularly than me saying, “Hey honey, you should see what Kevin and Layla made!”
I just lost my ratchet driver I have had for years. This looks like more than a suitable replacement!
I wanna try it!
Wow! I what a great tool. Glad someone thought of it!
I would love one of those! Although I think the hubby would steal that from my stash of tools!
Looks like an awesome tool to try!
Hey Layla . . .anytime I get to watch you or Kev with a helpful ‘how-to’ video it’s a good day for me! You guys make me smile . . . Miss seeing pic’s of kit-cat . . . .I adopted my own (1rst tuxedo) new Kitty two months ago after loosing our 13 year old Jasper . . . Been a lot of laughs! This one has a totally different personality!
Hope you all are well! Been keeping my eyes open on HGTV for you guys! 🙂
Yes please! I’d love one of those.
That is a very cool screw-driver. Love the idea that turning both ways still tightens or loosens. No wasted movement!
Love your blog and follow it daily Layla. Thanks for the chance to win!
What a great idea! We have the traditional ratchet screw driver, which I love, but this thing is amazing!!! I am building cornices right now, and this would be really handy when it is time to install them. 🙂
