This Tool Rocks (Swift Driver by Master Mechanic)

Jul 13, 2012 By Layla

Remember those window treatments I blogged about the other day?

Well, part of our 2012 DIY Blog Squad duties involved trying out a new tool from True Value, and since we used it to put those window blinds up, I thought this would be a good time to blog about it. It’s called the Swift Driver, and it’s made by Master Mechanic…

We recorded a little video to show how much easier it made the un-fun task of hanging blinds…

Pretty handy dandy, eh?

To be honest, when we first got it, we were sort of thinking it was just going to be one more unused tool in our already jam-packed, mess of a tool room. But we’ve used it several times since the day we hung the blinds, and we’re thinking we can probably just get rid of the 8 million regular screwdrivers we have laying around because this thing works so much better than they do.

Which gives me an idea. (Literally just hit my brain as I am typing this.)

Kev! Let’s give away a couple of Swift Drivers! (I just yelled that to him from my desk.)

(He just responded, “Okay!”)

So- if you’d like to enter for a chance to win one, just leave us a comment on this post (if you’re reading this in an email, you’ll have to click over to our blog to leave a comment) between now and Monday, July 16th (9am CST) and we’ll randomly select a couple of winners sometime after that. Good luck!

So perfect!! We just signed a contract on a new house TODAY!! My husband and I have been teachers in Mexico for the last few years and haven’t had a home of our own for 8 years now!! I’m so excited to paint and put up curtain rods and do all of those amazing things that we haven’t been able to do! The nifty little swift driver would be perfect (especially since buying a new house means we won’t have much money left for tools!)…thanks for the great giveaway!

I’d love to win one of these. It looks like it’s so handy – and more of an “all in one” type screwdriver. It would really clean-up the old tool box as it is right now, that’s for sure! Thank you so much for the chance to win!

I would love, and could truly use, the Swift Driver! My son moved out last summer and in my love for him, I handed him my tool bag, and pretty much all my tools!! He thought it was generous, I’m now seeing it was a mistake! I miss my tools!

I’d love to add that to my collection of screwdrivers (that I can never find). Does it come in pink? I’m only half-kidding on that – my boys won’t touch my pink tools. I’m not a fan of the color myself, but it works well for me when I need a tool. 🙂

That is a very cool screw-driver. Love the idea that turning both ways still tightens or loosens. No wasted movement!

What a great idea! We have the traditional ratchet screw driver, which I love, but this thing is amazing!!! I am building cornices right now, and this would be really handy when it is time to install them. 🙂
