Greetings!
We have some exciting news to share today! We’ve been working on something “design TV-related” for a while now, and we’re really excited about the direction it’s moving in.
Think: our blog in 3D…meaning, low-dough/high-smile room redos, real-life DIY adventures, and lots of YOU!

At this point, we need to see if you’d be into A) having us over to help you redo a room or two (or three!), and/or B) helping us redo someone’s elses space(s). (Maybe you’re a mural artist, or a seamstress, or you’d just like to lend a helping hand by painting a wall or working on a craft project with us, etc.)
We also need to know what area you live in. (City/State/Country) (You can live anywhere, and every comment will be read!)
We hoping to round up as many responses as we can in the next 48 hours, so if you’re interested, and you have time to leave a comment, please do!
We’re working with some super-talented and creative folks and they’re very interested in seeing the response to this post, so please don’t be shy, and thank you so much! We’ll definitely keep you posted and we hope to hug you soon!

PS- We’d also like to invite you to join us on Facebook & Twitter!
(We’re seeking responses on those sites too! Thank You!)

Hi guys! I don’t ever really comment but I’ve been a loyal reader for a couple of years now and love your site and all the great ideas I get from it. I don’t really need a room redo but I’m creative. Currently I’m a freelance photographer and artist living in the Atlanta area and would love to help you guys out on a project anytime you’re in town. Here’s a link to my Flickr site that showcases my photography and art.

If you look over to the right(on the site) at the “sets”, there’s one called “Last Whimsy Art Studio” and that showcases some of my art work. I’m currently working on an ocean themed wall mural for my daughters room and there are a couple of photos of it on there as well.
Thanks! Melanie
My husband & I bought our first house a year ago and we have tackled some small DIY projects, but would LOVE some help with the bigger ones (esp. the kitchen, living room and sunroom)! We live in a wonderful 80’s style ranch complete with popcorn ceilings, in Huntsville,Al 🙂
I would love to see my son’s house get a make over. He has a 10 month old son and will very soon have full custody as his wife is leaving them both for a new life in a new state. The house is small, dark and in need of some
help. Bay City, Michigan.
Come to Goshen, IN and decorate our master bedroom! Our house was built in 1890 and has all the charm but the bedroom was added/remodeled later and is majorly lacking in the charm department!
I would let you have free-reign to do whatever you want with my house. We’re a family of 4 living in a tiny 2 bedroom house that my husband and I purchased just before we were married. Boy does a tiny two bedroom house feel big PRE-KIDS! But we love it and can’t bear to part with it. It’s on 15 relatively quiet acres in Northeast Ohio (Ashtabula to be exact). I have such a huge problem figuring out what our “style” is so I basically avoid trying to figure it out at all costs, it would be awesome to have someone to help me. Right now our style is basically hand me down furniture from grandma (not in a good way) meets wanna be clean and casual (but not knowing how to do that).
Pick me, pick me 🙂 I clearly need help.
Love your website, love your style!
Would be beyond thrilled if you decide to make the beautiful journey north to Ontario Canada! You have your pick of any room in the house…. all are available : )

Oh wow I have to jump in on this as I have been putting off doing my bathroom, living room and utility room. Seriously!!! I need help. I am a single Mom and will have an empty nest this fall. My daughter and I live in Willard, Ohio and she goes off to study music at Capital University.
Hence, this Mom needs the physical help as well as the design/decorating assistance.
I love your blog and keep up the wonderful eye candy and ideas.
I would LOVE your fresh, young perspective on my living room that never gets lived in because it’s so BoRiNg! I love your ideas and while they are not something I would pick…that’s just it…I always leave your blog happy and thinking that the ideas would be just what is needed to breath life into my rooms. (Can you tell I am older than you and while I like traditional…I like new traditional…)
I also can sew. I made window treatments in my kitchen. I have made pillows and tablecloths as well. While not nearly as crafty as you two, I love a challenge and am willing to learn anything home improvement wise.
I live just north of Atlanta in Acworth, GA
A & B! My husband and I live in a small apartment that is built inside of a barn on my in-law’s farm. I can’t even begin to imagine all of the awesome things you guys could do with our little space. The apartment has no closets and the rooms are very small, so we could definitely use some help in the way of creating functional and pretty to look at storage. There are also other random things we would benefit from your help on such as our beat up metal front door and need of an office/crafting area in our teeny tiny space. We’d also like to make the outside of our home look more welcoming. As far as helping you goes, I love crafting (cute home decor, sewing, re-purposing furniture, etc.) and have many friends that are equally (if not more) crafty and inspirational! We live in Pylesville, MD (about 40 minutes from Baltimore, MD).
YES, YES, YES!!!! Can I say it enough? We’d love to have someone with some creativity and eye for design help us put this tiny 1923 cottage together! We’re in the Los Angeles, CA area (San Pedro, CA specifically). We know how to work, so you can make us sweat, but we need some fresh ideas and a great eye for how we can make 828 sq feet work for a family (is it possible to get two kids in this space or maybe we need to build the attic retreat I’ve dreamed of?!). We’ll take any help we can get – even in a virtual redesign! Good luck with the new show 🙂
Well, I have not blogged in quite some time. Seem to have run out of steam with my creativity and motivation. Not to mention my 4 kids and 2 granddaughters keep me running. We live in Southern Louisiana, Franklin to be exact. We are on the bayou with a lovely and peaceful view. It’s my living, dining and kitchen space. It’s one big ole room. We need curtains, but I have spent hours on end looking at fabric and treatments and still can’t make up my mind. I want something rustic, french country – ish, classic, traditional. We need built ins and a window seat to frame 3 very large casement windows, which I saw ya’ll did in a project. And some special Layla touches here and there.
We have a private guest room and bath just for ya’ll. I will feed you some great southern food. We can chill out on the screened in back porch and watch the sun go down. You would love us and we would love having you!
Please consider coming here. I need your help!!!
Love you,
Debbie

Yes, PLEASE!! I have a 70’s dark panelled family room that desperately needs to be updated!! I feel like I’m living in a cave in that room. Seeing all of your light and breezy rooms makes me so jealous. Come to Little Rock, AR and help a momma out of the dark!
We’d love to have you help us redecorate a room or two or three. I live in Indianapolis, IN 🙂
Wow, we would LOVE to have y’all come see us & do a makeover on any room you’d like! We definitely need it. We live in a ranch style house built in 1970 with popcorn ceilings & all! Most people think our house is too small for our family(we have 5 children ages 5-10) though we think it works just fine!
We live 20 minutes south of Nashville in Franklin TN.
Layla, You’re kidding right? Who wouldn’t want you guys to come over and redo a room (or five)! I have a guest room that is crying out for the K & L treatment. I am in Richmond, Virginia…come on up.
My poor children and their bedrooms… oy.
Let’s just say they were the last two rooms in the house to get any attention.
(I mean, really? No guests see their rooms, so it was kind of a given that they’d get the shaft.)
We’d LOVE for you to visit us in Coralville, Iowa and boost up our rooms. We have three girls that share two rooms, and we’re open to any combination (we once thought of even having a “sleeping room” and a “getting ready room”).
My parents need something like this! They live in Brenham Texas (home of Blue Bell ice cream — is that luring you in?) ha They have lived in their tiny house for about 15 years now and are trying to redo thier home to make it feel more open. My brother has a baby and we are due in October so now that their family is growing they need to figure out ways to make more room without actually having more room! (make sense? hopefully) I would say thier kitchen/dining room need the most work in that area!
Congrats on your new adventures!!!!
Hi Layla,
Sounds like fun! We are working on renovating a 1950 ranch style house in Texas–we have three big bathrooms to tackle ahead of us. I’ve really identified with your adoption journey–we’re in the same boat. We’ve lost 4 pregnancies and are currently on an adoption waiting list! In all the emotional stress and weariness, we’ve put our house dreams on the back burner. It would be a blessing to be a part of whatever you guys are doing!
Best Wishes,
Michelle in Waco, TX 🙂
Yes and yes! I live in Milton, GA in a home that has so much potential. It’s about 17 years old and has the original paint on the walls in most of the rooms. I love your design aesthetic and could really use your help with the living and dining rooms. I’ve got an unfinished basement too if you’re feeling ambitious!
I can help you with painting and craft projects. My husband is a carpenter and also has a lot of plumbing and electrical experience. He has a workshop in a corner of our basement so you wouldn’t have to bring any tools if you choose to makeover our room(s), or a nearby neighbor’s.
YES! My whole house needs help. especially the kitchen. I don’t even have half a kitchen…really! My dining room’s toile wallpaper needs an update, too! Another option, is the master bedroom and bathroom. It’s in need of sprucing up for our upcoming 15 year anniversary! We have to freshen up our love shack! Thanks for considering coming to Greenville, SC!
Yes, please!! We have recently purchased a foreclosure home and the previous owner’s taste was sort of Golden Girls meets Andy Worhol. It’s completely overwhelming trying to re-do this house. I am not afraid of hard work and would LOVE the opportunity to work with y’all. I’m in Marietta, GA (a suburb north of Atlanta). Good luck with your new adventure. I can’t wait to see what it is!
I’d LOVE your help “homifying” our condo. My fiance and I have lived apart for over half of the year for the last 4 years and we are FINALLY moving back together in August. We have a great space–almost 1400 sq feet in a 2nd floor condo which is divided into a master bedroom, an office, a guest room, 2 bathrooms, and a main room which is the living room and kitchen. I love it–big windows and lots of potential. We just haven’t really done anything with it yet. Yes, we’ve been there 6 years, (but not me really) but we still don’t even have window treatments! In fact right now our look is sorta leftover-college dorm meets my grandma’s attic rejects meets bachelor-pad-furniture my fiance bought right after graduating from school before I got to voice an opinion meets some few pieces I’ve found on craigslist and love. My goal is to get everything tied together and looking more unified–but on a budget.
We’re in Charlotte NC.
How about a whole house redo? We moved in to a small, I mean 1200sqft small, house outside of Raleigh, NC last May. The previous owner had a landscaping company, and the exterior is great- 6 acres with a stocked pond and lush gardens. The inside takes a turn for the worse as they attempted to give the home a vintage italian feel, that turned out more like a bad copy of every olive garden in America.
The good news: We have plenty of handy helpers in the family; painters, tile men, and builders.
The bad news: We have been so overwhelmed with the amount of work that needs to be done, we haven’t done anything.
Our hope is to return the home to it’s lake cottage roots with lots of white paint and one-of-a-kind decor, but until we can come up with a plan, we have been spending most of our time outdoors.
We would love to have your help!
Kim
Layla, what a great opportunity for you and Kev!! I live in Indianapolis, Indiana and would love to help someone make their design dreams come true! I can paint and use a power drill, but I’m up to learning anything!!
I would be blessing beyond belief to have people as talents as you and Kev help me with my home. I’m a 47 yrs old single female who became too ill to work six years ago. I had been perfectly healthy up until this point, then I began living my own version of a “mystery diagnosis” episode. I spent a year traveling to five major medical centers before I was correctly diagnosed with a rare pituitary problem. They don’t call the pituitary the master gland for nothing!! It really does control your whole body.
It has been nothing short of a miracle that I was able to keep my house during this time. It was so tough to spend 24/7 in a house that is stuck in the 1980’s. I had just moved in before I became sick. All that dark wood just made my mood that much worse. I had to spend everything I’d ever saved traveling all across the Nation to find Endocrinologists and Neurosurgeons who could help me. I’ve had two brain surgeries and lots of hormones……and am now starting to live again. What kept me sane during these years was helping others. I participated in a couple of on-line communities for people with rare endocrine problems. I couldn’t do much physically, but I sure could educate, encourage, laugh and cry with others who were on the same journey as me. Now that I’m stronger, I’d love the opportunity to physically help someone else.
Layla, I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have your help to create an inspiring place for me to call home. It would help me mark the beginning of a new life for me to have some life breathed into this home.
Hugs,
Gina
We are in Stillwater, MN, just outside of the Twin Cities. We would love to have you come and do whatever you wanted to our home in as many rooms and you would like! I have loved every project you have completed in your home. I only recently discovered your blog and I have really enjoyed it and been inspired by it. Even my 12 year old daughter knows who Layla Palmer is and wanted to start a blog because of what she saw on yours! How cute is that?!?! Thank you for sharing all of your hard work and inspiration with us…truly, thank you! – Blessings to you both.
I would also love to help if you are in my area, even if its just painting or something. I’m in Roanoke, VA, USA.
This is so exciting.
Now I “know” 2 bloggers getting on TV…you guys and The Pioneer Woman! Awesome!
Ack! I’d love it! I don’t live too far from you, in Villa Rica, GA. I am a single mom of a six year old and I bought my 1st house last year. It was a foreclosure and a mess! I’ve been having fun learning how to do things myself but it’s been slow going, with a full time job and trying to start a business, plus, of course, being a mom! I love y’alls style and would love to get picked! Thanks for the chance!
Absolutely would love to have you work your magic on our home in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio!
You’d have your pick of rooms – perhaps our boring, bland, blank-slate-of-a-basement? Lots of space down there with nothing going on! Or how about our totally unecessary formal living room, that I’d love to use for a more family-friendly purpose – i.e. maybe a reading+game room?
What could be exciting and so fun for “3D” is that within 1 mile of our neighborhood (walking distance!) is a quaint downtown area with some fantastic home decor stores (one that features repurposed items) and flea market/antique shops!
I love your style, I’m a former client and did I mention that I’d feed you well while in town? 🙂
Good luck with this exciting new endeavor!
Best,
Sandra K
I love your blog!!! I have gotten so many great ideas from you. We are in the slow process of redo our house. We have lived in it for two years and have worked on most of the rooms in some form or fashion. So far we have removed most of the awful 90’s wallpaper. The room that needs to most work right now is our kitchen. We have put off working on this room because of the expense. Hopefully we will get to it in the next couple of years.

Put me in the lottery! I love your design style and would love for you to transform my living room, or bedroom, or daughter’s room.
You guys are super talented! Blessings as you work out this new opportunity.

Wow, this is so awesome of you guys! I live in the mountains of Western NC in a little college town called Brevard, about an hour from Asheville. I live in a cute 1920 something caretakers/counselors cottage on the grounds of what used to be a summer camp. I’m slowly trying to re-decorate/renovate the home as my budget allows, so I’ve got a couple of rooms you could choose from. 🙂 Pick me, pick me! So excited to see who you choose and the projects you come up with! All my best to you two on your new adventure!
~Brooke
It would be lots of fun to have a room done by you guys. I am located in Caldwell, Idaho. 26 miles west of the capital city Boise.
I am up for a little re-do for any room or rooms in my house!!!! We live in Weyers Cave, VA on a 180 acre dary, beef and poultry farm. Can we say BEAUTIFUL!!!???? The house was renovated 20 years ago (new windows, wiring etc) but now this plain farmhouse needs another update and much needed character.
I am great with a paint brush!!!!
Hey L&K! How wonderful! Who says no to this kind of offer? 🙂
I’d love option A and am always willing to help with projects but my skills lean more toward hard work than any real actual talent. We have a 1950s home we’ve been slowly updateing. I’d love for your help in our living room/dining room combo. Or a half bath conversion to a full bath project. We could also use some help with our curb appeal-new paint color, shutters, something, anything. 🙂 We are kinda the ugly stepchild on the block. We live in Dallas, TX come see us!
Congratulations on your new adventure!
First of all – SO excited for you both! I’ve been saying for ages that you should have your own tv show! I would love to help out if you’re ever in the Denver or Colorado Springs, CO areas. I live in Parker, CO. I could paint, craft, help with projects, etc. And ofcourse, we’d love to have you redo a room in our house! We’ve been trying to make a modern house look and feel more vintage! Congrats and good luck!!! ~Destiny
Awesome! We live in Baltimore, MD and could always use some TLC help!
I just might have a room or two…….or three or four or…well you get where I am headed. Love your blog, love your ideas. Glad you want to share. Don’t want to be greedy…..I would happily help with someone elses redo as well. Come on up to Murfreesboro, TN…..Close to the Music City and I know you love it there!
a) yes, absolutely, oh yeah
b) of course, for sure, yepp
c) “would you like to come along with us?”
(yeah i know there wasn’t a option c, but there should have been. because i’d say yes. no really, i’m in 🙂
nashville, tn
I would love to have your help with my large, weird, orangy family room and my awkard kitchen. Actually, any room in my house is ready for a renovation or update. We live just outside Detroit.
I have several rooms that could use a re-do. I live in a condo in Boston, MA.
I would LOVE to have a little help with my house from you guys! We just bought our first home and some of it could use a little help. We’re DIYing most of it and it’s tough to keep the steam rolling. I’m in Orlando, Florida – come visit me!
OMG! Layla and Kevin, please come to my house and redo a room . . . or two . . . or three! Please come deconstruct my walls and add some character with your paneling and soothing colors! Love your vintage finds and think they would look great stashed in my home! After the birth of my kids and marrying my love, this would be the best things that ever happened to me!
-Amanda
Yes yes yes yes yes. We love your style. PLEASE come take a look at our master bathroom! It is tiny and dingy and so. so. so. gross. Red ceiling. Peach walls. Creamy-yellowish tile. The vanity drawers have no sides (and one drawer has no cover), the cabinet has no bottom, and it isn’t attached to the wall. The 4-light bulb fixture above the mirror has one bulb, and it doesn’t work. Toilet is crooked, window has weird shutters over it on the inside and skinny metal bars on the outside of it. Don’t you really really want to make this over?!? We have done both major and minor work on all the other rooms, but the bathroom has hardly been touched since we moved a year and a half ago, since only my husband and I really see it. Or you could help us out with the front of the house. We have a shabby little white brick ranch with lots and lots of potential.
If a project was over a weekend and within driving distance, my husband might want to help! He doesn’t have any particular skills, but he likes learning home improvement stuff. I couldn’t help because we have two small kids. We live in Louisville, KY.
What a fun idea! Can’t wait to see some of these!
Whoops! Forgot to say that I live in Dallas, TX!
I cant imagine that anyone would say no you cant come to my house :), how fun would it be to have you over to help!! Yes my bathroom would love a little LC love!!
I could help you maybe cook a dinner, make sure your schedule is okay, make some pillows. nothing too cool though 🙂
OMG! I would love the opportunity to have you come to my humble little apartment here in Chicago, IL and have you makeover a room! I have tried to implement some of your simple ideas but I always get discouraged when I can’t replicate one of your rooms…time and money are always an issue. I’m also super excited at the possibility of having a tv show air that shows off your talent for the whole world to appreciate.
Good luck, I hope everything falls into place for you!
I need some help with my house. I live in a small town where nothing really exciting ever happens so it would be fun to have something happen. I have lived in my house for 11 years and I don’t feel like I have finished a room yet. I hope this opportunity works out for you guys. You seem like such nice people. I live in Nibley, UT.
Denver, Colorado! I have a perfect empty room for you guys to transform! And, I love doing crafty projects, so it would be a lot of fun to help. Good luck with this new “project!”
Yes oh yes – please come help me with our bonus room! We’re in Cornelius, NC, just north of Charlotte.
Representing good ol’ Eugene Oregon! I LOVE helping other see the potential of their rooms. I would love to help! Sounds like your need some helping hands for all of these people who would love some LC love! But, if you want to help, for some reason I have been able to redo every room in my house, but for some reason my mind goes blank when it comes to the master bedroom.
Best of luck, and am excited to see what’s in store for you two!
