Greetings!
We have some exciting news to share today! We’ve been working on something “design TV-related” for a while now, and we’re really excited about the direction it’s moving in.
Think: our blog in 3D…meaning, low-dough/high-smile room redos, real-life DIY adventures, and lots of YOU!

At this point, we need to see if you’d be into A) having us over to help you redo a room or two (or three!), and/or B) helping us redo someone’s elses space(s). (Maybe you’re a mural artist, or a seamstress, or you’d just like to lend a helping hand by painting a wall or working on a craft project with us, etc.)
We also need to know what area you live in. (City/State/Country) (You can live anywhere, and every comment will be read!)
We hoping to round up as many responses as we can in the next 48 hours, so if you’re interested, and you have time to leave a comment, please do!
We’re working with some super-talented and creative folks and they’re very interested in seeing the response to this post, so please don’t be shy, and thank you so much! We’ll definitely keep you posted and we hope to hug you soon!

PS- We’d also like to invite you to join us on Facebook & Twitter!
(We’re seeking responses on those sites too! Thank You!)

Are you kidding? Yes! My husband is a muralist and I don’t even have ONE in my house! We live in Atlanta, GA.
Layla and Kevin, It would be a dream come true for yall to come help at our house! We are moving to Hoover, Al in 3 weeks and just bought a 50’s rancher in bluff park. Its adorable and has been well maintained. It has a few cottage style accents that I adore but Im not sure how exactly to bring out the best in our home with the little furniture and cash we have on hand. I wish I had a service to offer but Im only a intermediate sewer, theres lots better out there! Anyways, Thank you!
Come to Tampa, FL!! My husband and I live in a parsonage that could REALLY use some sprucing!
Would be down for A and/or B. I’m a graphic designer in Mobile, Alabama and can help with just about anything. Painting, sewing, crafting etc.
HI! My bf and I bought a house in St. Louis city 2 years ago and still haven’t styled it! It was built in 1897 and is original hardwood, stained glass, etc. Check out the pictures here – http://www.flickr.com/photos/zackabby/sets/72157613477010089/
I love your style and it would be awesome to hear your ideas on how to revamp some rooms in our home. Plus, this is the year of renovations for us!
Congrats on the 3-D news how exiting. My family and I live in Traverse City, Michigan ~Cherry Capital of the World~
We have a home~cottage on a little lake called High Lake. My husbands parents purchased an Bellaire log cabin in 1965. On Christmas Eve 2009 my husband and his brother lost his mother and sister in a house fire at High Lake. They decided to rebuild and now have a home~cottage that we all share. We need some good talented decorating to suit both families. It’s our home away from home – weekender. You both would love Traverse City and all the beauty that is here.
Are you kidding? Of course YES! I would be so stinkin’ excited and blessed to have you two cuties come and redo a room or few in my home!!! Woot! We are in Kaysville, Utah. PS: I was on that loooong waiting list for a moodboard many moons ago. I was so sad that you ran out of time. Maybe this time? 🙂 Thank you!
Oh pick me! Pick me! We live in Madison, Wisconsin and our living room and play room could use a little LC lovin’!! I’m in the process of turning this home into French Country/Beach Cottage style, but I am completely stuck between both and I can’t seem to marry the two very well. PALEASE come and help me!! This is a wonderful opportunity and we would love to have you in our home doing your LC magic!! XOXO
Would love for you to come help me with my house! My husband and I are never on the same page and we both do not know a thing about decorating. We are currently in the process of “fixing” our house – new wood floors and carpet and some other things here and there. And then we are off to making our home, which we have been in for 5 years (house is a cookie cutter, 10 yrs old) our own. We are only doing this now because we have a wonderful 1 year old son now and I want our house to be his home. The only room we tried to decorate, his nursery, turned into a smurf colored, hodge podge of a room which is so not a little boy’s dream. We have a lot of hand me down furniture that with a little tweaking could seem like our very own furniture. I have a lot of ideas, but have no clue how to put everything together…or if it would even look good. Please come to Kansas City, MO and help these new parents out!
I ove your ideas and would be delighted for you to re-do any room(s) in our home, we also have a four year old son and a two year old daugther. Most of our walls are white or light colors and would be open to pretty much anything, love your style. We live in Farmington, MN. I absolutely love your blog! You’re welcomed to our home anytime! 🙂
I wasn’t able to finish my post before, got busy at work. I see I forgot the l in “love your ideas” at the beginning, oops. We’ve been wanting to re-decorate most of the rooms in our home, three bedrooms, living room, family room, dining room and kitchen and just don’t know where to start, would love to get your ideas. And we’re finally getting nice weather in MN, so it would be a great time to come on up. 🙂
I live just south of the Dallas/Ft Worth Texas area. I would love to “have you over” for a little re-do “shin-dig”! My house is a very vertical, 1125 sq. ft. 2-story little red brick house. It was built as an architect’s studio with a loft as a drawing room–with the addition of a 3/4 bath and kitchen to accomodate “Grand Ma” in her later years when the business moved into town. The owners planned to build a home in the middle of the property and use this space for an office. Well…….they won the lottery and built a million dollar home on a lake somewhere (no joke), and I got this place for a steal, but it needs help. I love your blog and I like everything about the style, but it just does not fall out of my head and land in the reality of where I live, mainly because of the time it would take to re-do on a shoestring. (single mom with teens, you do the math! ha ha) AND I have a bathroom that has been in remodel mode for about a year (expanded into the hall space, moved the door, took out the shower, added the tub and eventually a large white solid surface vanity with mirror and cute lighting)….it has a concrete floor and the drywall is still in progress, so it is ready to be finished. My son works in new home construction, and has done most of the work, but he is busy in college now, and working, so the bath is taking a long time. 🙂 My home is really just an awesome re-do waiting to happen. It is a little funky but has real potential. Mark me down as a re-do candidate, and I also love to cook, so when you come, I will make y’all some good ‘ole Texas food! (for you and the crew). Amen, The End, Over and Out!
Thanks!
Oh, please come to my house! Yes we need help with several rooms in our home (I sent you a picture of our living room with the ginormous windows that I don’t know what to do with). I can sew and my husband is very handy. We have completed many a DIY project in our 21 years together. We live in southern California. Come visit anytime!
I live in Norman, OK and would LOOOOOOVE to participate on this project! We live in Norman, OK (an awesome little college town that is home to the University of Oklahoma Sooners). Our home was built in the 1950’s and has awesome bones! We’ve just completely gutted our bathroom, but our kitchen (again with great bones) needs a little TLC. It would be a great project.
I’m in Noblesville, Indiana and have a great plan to make my house in my little vinyl village more cottage-y but I need help! I’m a single parent to an amazing 3 year old girl so time can be a challenge but I would love, love, love to have your inspiration! I’ve recently started my own blog and my main goal is helping others in the same situation as I am, buying a house with zero character and trying to make it a HOME. The nooks and crannies of an older home that make it loveable are missing in the homes built today but I think if we would work together we could make my house a testament to the fact that it can be done. P.S. I’m also an adoption worker so I would love to hear more about your journey!
VERY exciting news for y’all!! You’ll be great at this … Love your site!
Since we’re currently renting, probably not much can be done around here but would LOVE to help with someone else’s redo!! Dallas TX USA! Come on over!!
Love option A!! We have several projects to do in our Simi Valley, CA home. We have open stairs that I’d love to enclose, a bare room that needs to be transformed into a scrapbooking room, kitchen redo, and much more!
I’m soooo UN-domestic! I need all the help I can get! I would LOVE for you guys to come and help me! My house is embarrassing because I can’t put anything together! haha
Always up for help around the house….ideas are just buzzing in my head. Just wish my husband would get on board quicker. We are sort of an older version of you guys so we move a little slower. Indianapolis, Indiana, USA May not be the most glam spot of all the replies but could be fun!
Great idea! I would love to help anyone in my area. I am located in Kennesaw, GA (25 minutes northwest of Atlanta). I am a calligrapher, portrait artist, painter, etc. Pretty much, I can do just about do any type of custom art. I love working with young couples who are starting out and want special things that don’t break the bank.
So keep me posted if there is any way I can help! -Faith
Oh yes please!! I have a room or two or three 🙂 that is so in need of a “TLC Makeover”!!! 🙂
New Port Richey, Fl
What fun!! I would love to have you come to my house to help out on one or more rooms I’m stuck on. My own home often gets neglected.
I would also love to help out on a makeover. You know I could paint/refinish some furniture and make some slipcovers. It would be a blast.
I live in South Central PA, but I’m near the DC/Northern Virginia metro area.
WOW! I am but one little voice in a sea of hundreds clamoring for your awesome talent and gift!! But even one little voice is heard by Someone! I would love to have you and Kevin in our home. You see, we have lived at our home here in Bakersfield, CA for 12 years and my husband’s “home office” is HORRIBLE! It is the first room you see after entering and heading down the hallway…Also, our kitchen is uglier than…than…?? Any room would love your makeover! You and Kev are awesome at what you do and your love for each other! Even if you don’t select us, we will always select you!! smile
Merry in California
I live in Santa Cruz CA and obsessively follow your blog. I live in a tiny (850 sq. ft.) two bedroom, one bath. But this being California, we paid over $600K for our house…I really want to redesign our home to reflect much more of the beach cottage style. We live four blocks to the ocean! My husband, our daughter Maya and I have done a ton of projects and we are DIY’ers, but for some reason I’m just stuck – I don’t know where to start. Please help! I love your style – the reading room re-do – OMG!
Would absolutely love for you to come to my house and do 1 or all my rooms. Love your blog…
I am a southern girl living in exile in Castro Valley, CA. I could definately use your help in the MANY projects we have in our 60 year old cottage. Plus, I would love to watch your show!
My 80s style kitchen is small and in desperate need of an update! I would LOVE your help! I live in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Sorry, forgot to say I live in Lee’s Summit, a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri.
I would love for you to come redo some of our rooms! I would also be interested in helping others with their projects. We live in Colorado Springs, CO, and we’ve spent the past year remodeling our 1947 bungalow.
Yes please! I’m in Salt Lake City, UT.
Come to beautiful Kansas Country south of KC. Lots of projects to choose from. I’ll supply fresh cider donuts and yummy barbeque. 🙂 TLC to KC!!
Oh my – I would love to help out – I mean I would love to even do your clean-up, girl! I can sew the basics, have painted a few murals, done lots of furniture makeovers with paint, do floral design, and lots more. I am just a project girl – always have to be doing something. Right now my husband and I are making a family backyard game of cornhole. It is coming along well. Also, you can have at in and re-do anything in my house. I NEED YOU! I like to think I can do it alone but… let’s just say that’s why I am not the one with the blog, lol. I am about to have an empty house – my last two baby birds are moving to go to college this fall. Please refluff my empty nest! Powder Springs, Georgia – close enough to be considered part of the ATL!
I would love to have you come help with our house – any room of your choice 🙂 We’re in Harrisonburg, VA. (about 2 hours south of DC)
It would be amazing to be included in this! We bought a pretty spacious condo (our first non-rental!) in Norwalk, CT about a year ago. We bought the condo from a lady in her 90’s who had lived there for a long time, so we are slowly but surely updating the undeniably 70’s aesthetic to reflect our own design tastes. The kitchen is the priority right now; it currently has 70’s yellow appliances, stained white laminate countertops, and dingy sheet linoleum flooring. The cabinets are in good physical condition, but we’d like to paint them, and I have been dreaming of a white beadboard backsplash among other things! We also dream of renovating the 2 full baths, but the changes to be made are largely cosmetic and therefore probably not in our budget for a while.
Also, I am definitely crafty (it’s taking so long to get decor on the walls because I want to make everything by hand!) and would absolutely love to help with any and all crafty projects if you’re going to be in New England or New York City!
Kevin and Layla,
I’m down on my knees BEGGING for your help!!!! We’ve run out of steam!!!!! We’re in the middle of a major remodel, majority of big things are purchased, and the kitchen is almost complete, BUT……we still have to decorate and do the master bath!!!! We can’t come up with a paint scheme and that’s a major hold up. So, starting at the front door (that needs to be installed!!!) all the way to the back of the house, WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!
We live in Lewisville, TX just north of Dallas. We would love your input because we love your style.
Rooms to be finished:
Living Room/Dining Room (furniture/drapes/lights bought from Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware)
Kitchen/Family Room
Guest Bedroom (Pottery Barn linens)
Master Bedroom (Restoration Hardware linens)
Master Bath
Laundry Room
We love the beach and sea shells (huge collection). We’re trying to go for a calm, relaxing, yet fun, welcoming home….not a model home look! I have fabrics and decorative items out the wazoo…but don’t know what to use, keep, donate, sell!!!!!!!
Thanks so much!
Sherri Farrell

Oh, and I forgot, I’d love to help out with any projects you need help with. I’m pretty crafty and my hubbie is a carpenter!!!
Thanks
Sherri Farrell
I would LOVE to have you come and help me. I’ve been trying to decide for months what to do to make my little home look more like a cottage and I just don’t know how to do it. I love the looks you create! I have a living room/kitchen that really needs help. I live in Chipley, Florida about 50 miles north of Panama City. Thanks for your consideration!!!
Hi Guys, I would love to help you on your project. I am an Interior Designer and Etsy shop owner in Farmington Hills, MI. (suburb of Detroit). I am a hands-on kind of girl, and I love to do room redos, furniture trash to treasures, and all types of DIY projects. I love helping people make their space feel like their own. I would call myself a handy girl. I love your blog, and I am anxious to hear from you. Thanks for the opportunity!
Tracey Garcia
yes, Yes and YES! I would LOVE to have you help me decorate!!! Please come to beautiful Colorado!! I live in a suburb of Denver (Centennial, CO).
Congrats on your new adventure!! You are so welcome at our home in Strafford, MO. We have a laundry room that could use lots of TLC and a master bathroom that just doesn’t seem to be “MASTER”. We’re very handy and could give lots of help, just need your DIY expertise!!!
I would so love some help renovating my walk-in attic. It’s such wasted space right now and I love, love, love that you are a creative genius! I also have a kitchen that could use some TLC. You know you want to come to Birmingham, AL!!
PLEASE COME!! my little guy is ready to give you big hugs and show you exactly what he wants in his bedroom, he wants to help you paint and then go outside and play in our (his) awesome yard with you & Kev!! (great practice for you guys 🙂 he is almost 4 yrs)
We live in beautiful Vestavia Hills, Alabama (very close to you!) and sincerely love you and would LOVE to have you work the talent you have been blessed with in our humble home. Parts of Vestavia have been destroyed by the recent tornadoes, but we were pretty lucky; I say this thinking perhaps, we could also help you find someone else nearby to help…
Layla & Kev – thank you for your consideration!
Donna
I have never left a comment, ever. I love love love your blog and your style. TLC has inspired several updates around our little “cottage”. I’ve been wanting to send a picture of our living room for “Pick my Presto”, I know you would come up with something wonderful!! I would just be in total shock if you guys were to come to our little (just over 1000 sq. ft.) home in Burlington, NC. Burlington is a beautiful city, we would love for you guys to come for a visit!
We have a living/dining room that we want to take the wall out between and totally redo the whole room and look. It was supposed to be a project for last winter but we ran out of time, and decided to spend the money on something else more important I am sure! Although I don’t know what that was. Or you could pick any rooms in the house. We’ve lived here 12 years now and it is about time to start over each room. Love your blog and the rooms you redo. We want you to come visit us in small town (857 people) Readlyn, Iowa.
Hey Layla! I live in Sugar Land, Texas, a suburb of Houston. I would LOVE it if you came over to redo a room in my house. I would also be happy to assist you in any project you might decide to do in my area. I am really good at taking directions, although I’m not sure how to define my talents. Love your blog! I am a HUGE fan!
You had me at “help us..”!!!
Your average painting, caulking, simple construction and mediocre slipcover making friend in Downers Grove, IL reporting for duty!
I have so many things “to do” at my house, but if I were going to choose one, I’d choose the mancave. My hubby has let me do whatever makes me happy with all of our rooms, but he wants to do the basement himself which we totally disagree on. He wants the walls red. I think you could be a solution because of Kevin! he’s in a rock band and so is my hubby! I have no idea on how to make the basement something we both enjoy but his personality into it to where it’s ‘rock-n-roll’ Come to Kentucky!
i live in apple valley ca – and would LOVE a remake over for my……..are you ready…….i don’t thin anyone’s mentioned this room…..my garage!!!!! my husband died 2 years ago – and i still have everything that was his in the garage! i’m not trying to get of him – just the “stuff”….would love it painted and that really neat stuff rolled onto the floor with the flakes in it!!thank you for even reading this. good luck with whatever you do.
Absolutely!!!! Come any day of the week over here! I live Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley specifically). I have just started reading your blog and love the work you do 🙂
