Calling All E-Friends

May 5, 2011 By Layla

Greetings!

We have some exciting news to share today!  We’ve been working on something “design TV-related” for a while now, and we’re really excited about the direction it’s moving in.
Think:
our blog in 3D…meaning, low-dough/high-smile room redos, real-life DIY adventures, and lots of YOU!

At this point, we need to see if you’d be into A) having us over to help you redo a room or two (or three!), and/or B) helping us redo someone’s elses space(s). (Maybe you’re a mural artist, or a seamstress, or you’d just like to lend a helping hand by painting a wall or working on a craft project with us, etc.)

We also need to know what area you live in. (City/State/Country)  (You can live anywhere, and every comment will be read!)

We hoping to round up as many responses as we can in the next 48 hours, so if you’re interested, and you have time to leave a comment, please do!

We’re working with some super-talented and creative folks and they’re very interested in seeing the response to this post, so please don’t be shy, and thank you so much! We’ll definitely keep you posted and we hope to hug you soon!

PS- We’d also like to invite you to join us on Facebook & Twitter!

(We’re seeking responses on those sites too! Thank You!)

I’d gotta admit, since we live in a duplex, I might be a little intimidated to have you come see our humble rental abode (because its so NOT where I want it to be, decorating wise) but I know I’d love it! I really am trying lately to make it feel more cohesive and homey…and I know I could use fresh eyes and ideas! You guys are amazing….and I’m so happy for this next step for the two of you! Dallas, TX baby….thats your destination!

I WOULD LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have you come work your magic in my home. Due with baby #4 in Sept. and need to work on a nursery. Also, have a family room that is long and narrow, that I struggle with…..it could really use your help! Or…..because baby is on his way, I have my 11 and 9 yr. old boys that will now need to share a room…..how awesome would it be if you could help us figure out an awesome room for them so they won’t mind sharing?!!!! AWESOME!! I can help in any way, and my hubby has a ton of tools and is amazing at word work…..He’d probably even love to have Kevin show him a few tricks!

Bring TLC to the STL! My house is new construction circa 2000 and I struggle with the problem, as many of us who live in suburbia do, of adding character to a very cookie cutter built house.

Love your blog! Have a darling little 1950’s bungalow my daughter lives in and would love to redo the tiny kitchen and bathroom! We live in Oklahoma City.

Come on over I’m in SoCal, Redlands to be precise. I have a dreadful master bedroom that is in dire need of help.I would love to have you and Kevin over. How exciting this must be for both of you.

Sure! I have a boring ranch style house in the country (Scio, OH) that could use a lot of refreshing/brightening. Kitchen wood is dark and drab. Fireplace takes up a whole wall in mud ugly brick color. Bathrooms are just plain tired looking. Come on up!

I do love to be creative with flea market finds like you do, but in recent years (since buying my house really) I’ve been without the time and funds.

    Hi Layla and Kevin,
I live in Calgary Alberta and my husband and I just bought our first home! It’s a brand new build, and we are both afraid to do anything to it just in case it doesn’t turn out! We need professional help. We would love for you to come by. I do a little sewing (cushions/drapes/blankets) and my husband is pretty handy all around.
    WE LOVE YOUR BLOG!

I would welcome you to our home with open arms. We live on Cape Cod (MA), in the very home I grew up in. After this many years spent in a family home, I would love someone with fresh eyes and talent such as yours to give it a lift! Our three bedrooms could use the most help!

    I’m down with both A and B!

I’m a renter in San Diego, Ca. I’d love to have your help with a “renter-friendly” room redo! I also know a little about a lot.. so I’d be more than happy to lend a hand in any nearby projects!

Wow!! What a wonderful opportunity! Yes, I would most definitely be interested in having my walk-out basement family room be redecorated…LOVE your style! I live in Toronto, Canada.
    Thanks!!

What a fantastic sounding opportunity for you two! I love your aesthetic – so fresh and fun. As I’ve followed your blog, I have truthfully wondered why you weren’t doing tv or getting more exposure, really! When your e-magazine came out I thought to myself that you two were going places decorating-wise! So happy to hear about your success and whatever it is you’ve got cookin’.

Me, I’ve got this basement room that has no windows and is a blank slate. It sure could use your touch to make it bright and airy and fun! I’m in Harrisburg, PA and would love to have you come and transform!

All the best to a wonderful couple……..

Oh for crying out loud!!! As much as you want, for as long as you want, with no holds barred! My husband and I are quite handy, but sorely lacking in vision — c’mon over, you two.
We live just outside (15 minutes) of Seattle.

Come on over! We live on a farm in the heart of Amish Country, Independence, IA to be exact. Our home is a former Amish farmhouse. Actually built out of native lumber from a sawmill that was once located at the far side of the property. We’d love to have ya!

Come on over! We’re in western Massachusetts, about an hour from Hartford CT, 2.5 from Boston, 3 hours from NYC. I’ve been procrastinating about redoing our bedroom, which has so much potential – vaulted ceiling, treehouse-looking view from the windows on the back of our house, exposed beams . . . please help! Or the kitchen. Or the bathrooms. Screened porch. Or . . .

You are welcome out here in Southern California anytime! I live in a cute suburb called Montrose – very much like Mayberry. My husband and I live with our seven year old triplets in a two bedroom house. We would love for you to help us out 🙂

Are you kidding? I would love to have you over to help me do a room or two or three. You have a beautiful house & with your help mine could be too.

Almost any room could use your help. The bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, dining room all need help. I’m in a very small cape cod & have too many antiques that I won’t part with so finding places for everything is a problem.

I live in Greenfield, WI USA. It a suburd of Milwaukee and is about 90 miles north of Chicago.

I have a “junkroom” that needs extra special help – come do it! WE are also the owners of a 66-year-old cottage that we are SLOWLY renovating. I am an art teacher, so I can paint/draw/do whatever “artistically” as well as regular ‘ole house paintin’! I can mix any color in the known world by eyeballing it! I live in Flowery Branch, GA (50 miles NE of Atlanta)

    Hi,

We have a small cottage built in 1911 on Sunset Island which is on Lake Ontario just outside Wilson, NY. The kitchen is a little dated to say the least. The sink is the old metal white porcelain kind and the hot and cold water each have their own faucet. The wallpaper is a 1950’s orange and pink floral and there is 1980’s peel and stick tile on the floor. We have few diy skills and a very small budget so we sure could use your help making the kitchen both functional and lovely. I see how much you love cottages so I think our project might be right up your alley. Plus you could enjoy the beach while you are working:)

Heck yeah! I live in Dallas and have been having nightmares for the past 3 years about our great room. It’s got high ceiling, rectangular and very yellow (which I loved 3 years ago but now all I see is yellow, yellow, everywhere!). You guys coming would turn my nightmare into a dream 🙂

    Hi Layla and Kevin,

What a fabulous opportunity! I live in Hyattsville, MD, and would love my master bedroom and bath done. We’ve owned the our 1936 Cape Cod since August of 2006 and have been slowly working on rehabbing it. Most of the downstairs is done. Upstairs, our private space, well, we carpeted the bedroom and hallway, and painted the walls – but that’s about all. The master bath, well, that’s just yucky and could definitely use your special brand of style! I hope you consider us!

My husband is very handy … great at taking my ideas and pictures I give him and making them happen… being on a budget we do mainly all the work ourselves… I love your blog and your decorating style..!

How exciting! My husband and I bought our first home a year and a half ago (a fixer upper) and have pretty much based our “look” off your blog….literally. I know, sounds creepy but we love your look and all the tutorials. We have an endless amount of re-do’s just waiting to be done. Up next is our kitchen but we also have 3 bedrooms (one is a nursery) , 2 bathrooms and a family room that are just waiting for your loving touch 🙂 We would be up for anything and would love to help as little or as much as needed!

We built our house about 15 years ago and I have not repainted the kitchen since then. It needs it really bad but I have a hard time making a decision and sticking with it so I can NOT decide on a paint color. Soooooo, I would love some help redecorating my kitchen, living room, bedrooms and bathrooms, and outdoor area too! Heck even my garage needs an overhaul!! I am just down the road from Montgomery/Prattville area – located in beautiful Eufaula, Alabama.

I would love to help out at someone elses home too. It would do me good and maybe help me in my decorating illiteracy!

    May 6, 2011 at 10:05 am

Are you KIDDING me!?! Who would not LOVE to have you two take over their house and fill it with design, decor, and inspiration!? I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SLEEP FOR WEEKS IF I GOT CHOSEN FOR ROOM REDOS WITH YOU AND KEV!!! We live in downtown Houston, Texas. It can be hard to keep a cottage/country/homey feel to your house when you have a) a one year old running around and b) you’re surrounded by high rises and skyscrapers. BUT That is just what we would like to try and do! I hope this works out for you two!!! 🙂

    Blessings,
    Kirbi

I am not sure there’s enough time in a day (or a month!) to read all these comments ahead of me but if you ever get to the bottom….we’d be delighted to have you all over to London! We’ve been living a wonderful and blessed nomadic lifestyle for awhile. 5 countries, 10 years and our house shows it! We love our collection of goodies from over the world but alas we don’t have the eye to mesh it all together like you both! We’re huge fans of all things TLC and follow your blog from the other side of the pond! We’d like to use all our overseas goodies while keeping an American cottage feel 🙂 all the best on your great big new adventure!

Hey Layla, I’m from Pinckney, MI (near Ann Arbor) and would LOVE for you to come over! My lower level family room needs HELP and so does our bedroom – we haven’t done anything to it for the 12 years we have been there 🙁 No window coverings, paint is from when we first moved in, ugly, hodge podge furniture, WE LOVE YOU! I’ll send you pictures if you like!
