Greetings!
We have some exciting news to share today! We’ve been working on something “design TV-related” for a while now, and we’re really excited about the direction it’s moving in.
Think: our blog in 3D…meaning, low-dough/high-smile room redos, real-life DIY adventures, and lots of YOU!

At this point, we need to see if you’d be into A) having us over to help you redo a room or two (or three!), and/or B) helping us redo someone’s elses space(s). (Maybe you’re a mural artist, or a seamstress, or you’d just like to lend a helping hand by painting a wall or working on a craft project with us, etc.)
We also need to know what area you live in. (City/State/Country) (You can live anywhere, and every comment will be read!)
We hoping to round up as many responses as we can in the next 48 hours, so if you’re interested, and you have time to leave a comment, please do!
We’re working with some super-talented and creative folks and they’re very interested in seeing the response to this post, so please don’t be shy, and thank you so much! We’ll definitely keep you posted and we hope to hug you soon!

PS- We’d also like to invite you to join us on Facebook & Twitter!
(We’re seeking responses on those sites too! Thank You!)

Um hello – I love EVERYTHING you guys do.
I’m working on a home office space in Lewisburg WV – just named America’s Coolest Small Town.
So of course I need my office to look cool.
I’ve painted it with a friends help — which as of 9pm last night — it’s Tiffany Blue. (which is kinda aqua.)
I’d love some help on where to take it ! My house is a 1953 bungalow style on a street of Sears houses. Which makes the location pretty cool too.
Y’all come.
Congratulations! How exciting for you! I would love an opportunity to help if possible. My love…redesign (rearranging and repurposing the furniture and accessories homeowners already own). Of course I realize this might be an impossibility. I too am adopting at the moment. I went from no children to 4 in a very short time. 🙂 Just in the last 9 months I have 2 babies. 🙂 Because of this, I actually put my decorating business on the back burner for a while.
If you did happen to come into the area, I could probably find help to have a fun and creative day out! I actually just live down the road from the Pioneer Woman in Oklahoma. I definitely think this would be a great place for you to come! Don’t you think you should come see the project we both worked on at Hyacinth’s house in person? I do! It would be fun to meet you both!
I truly need you! I am living in a “design delimma”.
Bring your expertise to the Pacific Northwest-Camano Island, Washington.
I’ll be waiting for you.
We bought the home I grew up in a few years ago. The kitchen is still 1970s with new appliances. When I saw your new ezine I actually freaked out because the photos of the kitchen re-do had the exact cabinets that we have in ours! I never thought about facing them with the wood strips to make them into a more cottage look! I have four kids,a husband, and a full time job. I don’t have time to implement so many ideas I find from your blog but I love your style! Please come to Oklahoma and do my kitchen!! Pretty please? You would love our beautiful city of Edmond north of OKC.
I would love for you guys to redo my office and any other room in our house!!! We are in the Phoenix Metro Area in Arizona. Queen Creek, AZ
I would love love love for you to come to my home! I gasp every time I see one of your room reveals…and your cottage makeover….love love love!! 🙂 I daydream about what you could do hear in my house!
I don’t have a specific skill set, but I do love to get my hands dirty and am a die hard diy-er!!
I live in Baltimore County, MD
ooops..”here” in my house 🙂
OH ME OH MY! I know of a back patio and a bedroom, or two that could use some Kev & Layla inspiration. And of course, I am down with gettin’ a little paint on somebody else’s walls!
We are in DAYTON OHIO! Come on up!!!!
My husband and I bought a fixer 2 1/2 years ago, we are nearly finished with the inside, but the back patio needs very much help. Are you inclusive on outdoor spaces? We are both very handy and could help. 20 min. south of Salt Lake City, Ut
Come on over! My hubby, Luke, and I just moved into our new house and we are trying to make it a home on a budget. It’s a new build which I love, but we want to add lots of character and personality to it. We definitley need some design direction. It’s tough to get things done because we have an adorable 6 month old, so we need a kick in the pants!
Hi Layla, I’d LOVE to have you help us with our bathroom. We’re moving into our first home next month and that room needs some TLC!! The home was builit in 1926 and the toilet is from the year it was built! We live in Verona, NJ. It would be so much fun to meet you and Kevin!
You know I’m older now, and not quite as hip as before, I need your love, youth, energy, ideas and more! I’ve seen your work on Tybee Island and live just 12 short miles away in beautiful Savannah, so if Georgia’s on your mind please help an aging hippie get hip! My house is older too and yearning for a couple of youngins to spruce up her rooms and make her smile again! Lots of pure potential and what could be better than helping out your elders! I’m turning 60 in September and would love some help as my extra special birthday surprise!
Oh Layla, YES AND YES!!! OF COURSE I’d let you re-do ANY and ALL rooms in my home. I mean that 🙂 And for sure (fo’ shizzle!) I’d be there to help if you needed it. I’m not a professional at anything but I can paint and sew straight and go on pizza runs with the best of them. I’m in Highlands Ranch (Littleton, Denver metro south) COLORADO and we could use some beachy love around these parts ’cause as beautiful as it is us transplants miss the ocean! GOOD LUCK!!!
That would be fabulous! I would love any of those things…you at my place, helping out etc.
I’m in Massachusetts.
Oooh, we live in Hickory, NC which is only 1 hour from the Tobacco Barn in Asheville (hint hint). We bought a craftsman style bungalow and we need help!! We need office space for our new business and our living room and master bedroom could use an update as well!!
I forgot to mention that we live in Orchard Park, New York (a suburb near Buffalo, NY).
You two cuties can ALWAYS come redo a room in my house. Your reading room was my inspiration for our baby room, but you are welcome to come do any room in our home! Nashville, TN!
Hi! I live in Bel Air, MD in a townhouse. We just had a baby girl and realize that our dreams of a kitchen redo will have to wait…..I would love to have someone come and redo our kitchen. I like option A the best because I’m afraid I’m not that creative! Love your website and GOOD LUCK!
LAYLA….PLEASE!!! I so need your help!! I live in Idaho Falls, ID and I am much as I Love my newly built house (5 years ago) it lacking the creature that old homes offer. my Kitchen and front room need MAJOR help!! I have done my best on a budget using the “stuff” that we have been collecting over the last 10 years of marriage. But ohhhh! how I so need your eye and the creativity in helping me TRANSFORM my Space!!
The bones of the house are good and even the trim work is promising!! My husband and I are a bit handy ourselves sooooo we are TOTALLY up for the challenge to work along side you!!
YAY..How exciting!

Yes! Yes! and Yes! We have an authentic acadian cottage with brick and wood floors from a civil war home and LOVE to re-do—we paint and repurpose and reclaim……Would love for some of our spaces we haven’t gotten to yet to be done! Woohoo! {Handsome can build anything—very handy!} 🙂 We are all 5 artists — so we would have a blast! Come on over to Greenville, NC and we can have lemonade on the porch when we’re done! {We could also find another fun spot for my Carrom board! ;-)}
Blessings~

Hey Guys!!! Oh my word, how exciting! Well, I believe I live in your neck of the woods and would love to do anything I can to help your new project. I would just love for you to re-do anything in my home. I would be glad to send pics of the house! I graduated in from The University of Alabama in interior design (I now am a stay at home mom of three!) and my sweet husband is a home-builder! So, we can help with anything! And I LOVE to sew, build and create all things!!! Have I said enough yet!?!? lol!!! I am SOOO excited!!!! I LOVE your blog!!!!! I was thrilled to read your post on your shopping excursion in Cullman. Before we built our home we also found all kind of goodies at Garland’s store, including our front and back doors. Oh my word, I think you could make my home what I have always dreamed of it being. I’ve never been able to make it just that! Maybe you will want to help! So groovy!
Ok, I have so rambled and said way too much! SOOOOOO Excited!!! You guys ROCK! Glad to help in any way! Keep up the AMAZING and SO inspiring work!!!!!!!!
I would love to have you over! I would say yes to A and B and would totally be into helping you out. I think my moms house needs more help than mine! On second thought, I can think of more than a few people over here (Miami, Florida) that could use your help! I am definetly not a muralist or seamstress, but I am pretty crafty and can help in any crafts you need help in. Check out my blog for a better idea.
Come to Miami! The weather is nice, I promise!
Me, me!!! Please!?!?!? I would LOVE to have your help (trust me, it is much needed)! We are in Dayton, Ohio.
Heck yeah…my entire house could use some help!!
Longmont, Colorado U.S.A.
Would LOVE to have you guys to Littleton CO! Come see the Rockies! and me!
Blessings,
Lonnalee, Dave, Mollie Lou and Ryle too!
Yes Yes! We live in a new construction house (in Fargo, ND) that we are desperate to add to character to, we have lots of ideas but nowhere to start. The foundations of our rooms are good (hardwood floors, white trim) but we need help with the all details. I pick up stuff when I see it at antique/thrift stores, but have a hard time pulling it all together. I especially need help with my son’s vintagey “big boy” room. I’ve been collecting items for it for awhile, but then my mom was diagnosed with cancer and we’ve spent the last couple months, and his second birthday, in the hospital. Lately everything that’s happened has kind of taken the wind out of my sails in the decorating department and I’m having a hard time finding the passion in something I usually love. As part of my birthday present last month my husband said we can check out Junk Bonanza in September – can’t wait! Whoever is picked is going to be so blessed to have you guys designing for them – congrats on the great new direction this is taking you guys! Can’t wait to see the results.
Come ‘on over, you can redo anything you want! Raleigh, NC
Austin, TX!! Your hubby can play at night in the “Live Music Capital of the World”, you can decorate in the day! My sister lives right behind me and she, too, would love some help. We both go “junking” twice a year and have all this stuff…but need ideas on where to put it. We have attics and sheds full of junk just waiting to get used.
My bathroom is in dire need…been “under construction” for 2 years. Same bathroom I grew up in. 1976 yellow laminate flooring is not looking so good in 2011. Other areas could also get some help 🙂 Excited for you guys!
Layla, sign me up to help you with any handy tasks you need help with. I’m open to most US locations, obviously areas in the South Eastern US (depending on timing, travel, etc.) are preferred. And you always have a place to stay if you are in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, NC area ;-).
This venture sounds very exciting. I’m so happy for you two. Congrats!
-Brittany (aka Pretty Handy Girl)
I’d love to help! I love doing crafty things (examples in my etsy shop, agoodhome.etsy.com)!! It’d be really fun to work with you guys; I love all the gorgeous ideas you come up with. I’m in Gainesville, FL and ready to work!
We’d love to have you help us with our little home nestled on an acre in Dallas. 🙂 This sounds like fun!
Oh my… oh my… Pick me!! I have a great little house it’s just lacking in style and personality – I guess you can say boring!! I was once a crafty DIY lady but recently disabled and wheelchair bound, I am unable to do things I used to and my wish to give my home a simple face lift is not an option right now. My inspiration board is full of ideas just no way to complete them. I just love your blog and all of the inspiration and projects you share really do movtivate me to dream! I live in Southside, Alabama (USA) which is just outside of Gadsden Alabama and my door is wide open for you to come and visit!! I woud love it and have lots of rooms for you to “have at it”!!! AJ
queenofmynest(at)gmail(dot)com
I would love help, and I would love to help! If I could makeover and redo all day everyday I would, but my creative ideas are running low for some of my own spaces! I’m outside of Chicago, IL.
Hey Layla & Kevin
I’m sure the chances are pretty slim you’d be coming to Canada, but we would love your help with our guest room. We also have our 4 yr old son’s room and a bathroom upstairs that could really use your touch but I don’t want to get to greedy. The house is a 1930’s craftsman style. We could both help: me with painting and maybe some crafty things, and my husband with the work as he does renos here in Courtenay, BC. Maybe we could even help with someone else’s job but I doubt they would export us from Canada?
WOULD LOVE to help with a project for someone else. I can do most anything, paint, sew, flooring, wallpaper, you name it. We are also soon putting our house on the market and could also use a little help in a few of the rooms in our house. We bought our home as a foreclosure in 2003 and have done major work for 7 1/2 years. However, it still needs a few touch ups in some rooms. You can sign me up for both or whatever is most needed. Our family lives in Nashville, TN. My husband is also very handy and could quite possibly be interested in helping, especially if I twist his arm a bit, plus he looks good on camera…LOL. I have been a “decorator” at heart for years but with 4 kids have not been able to branch out to more than our own home. What a fun project this sounds like, let us know if and how we are needed. Thanks! P.S. My dad, who lives in B’ham, AL (close to yall) is in great need of some help w/ his home. It is a wonderful house but has early 1980’s decor through out and needs updating badly. He would totally be up for the help!
Come to Tucson, Arizona!!!!!!!!!! My kitchen/dining area are in desperate need of a redo – I’m so tired of cooking a meal and doing my laundry all in the same tiny space….
OMG I would DIE if you came and Re-did a room in my house. I Adore all that you do and would be over the moon THRILLED! We live in a 30+ year old Country house in Sunny CA. It was a bank repo that has been our Money Pit. We have a VERY CHALLENGING Living Room/ Dining Room that has an offset Brick Fireplace with random brink ledges (in awkward places) the room has original Dark Stained beams and Dark Banister. This space needs HELP. I cannot imagine anything better than you redoing this dreaded space. Oh How we would so appreciate the opportunity to work with you.
Many Smiles and Thanks,
Bri
Ok so you totally have to come to my lil town. We have tons of projects at our home. A little extra manpower and new ideas never hurt anyone. 🙂 Plus I would also come help anywhere, always up for some demo action! Im located in little Germantown, Ohio. I read your blog religiously! You have given me insipartion for so many things, and to start my own blog.. with my cousin! http://www.crazyagnus.com
I seriously would pee. my. pants.! Please come visit and make my day, week, year, life!
xoxo,
very creative blog stalker 🙂
Would love to have you …because I have a house with at least 4 half-finished rooms, am always stocked with ice cream sandwiches and root beer, and love to laugh and play
Indianapolis, IN, USA
Count me in! Alpharetta/Johns Creek, Georgia. I can help with the Atlanta Metro area too. You can either decorate/redo my rooms, or I am happy to help you redo someone else’s home. 🙂 We have an Ikea nearby….
Whoo-hoo! I’d love to have your talents bestowed upon our new (old) bungalow cottage!!
Come on over to Asheville, NC (Weaverville, to be more exact)!
Oh Wow! How awesome is this? I would love either option. We have a 1920’s farmhouse that was added onto prior to us purchasing the home. Would love a more cohesive type of design to the house. I’d give you as many rooms as you want! As for helping out, well . . . I’m not as creative or inventive as you guys, but I’m a quick study and follow directions well, so I’d love to help in any way possible. I’m in Overland Park, KS – suburb of Kansas City, MO.
Oh the things you could do with my house! I would absolutely love it. Ferndale (Detroit), Michigan
Oh, you betcha!
We have a finished basement and little room in which havent seen a change since 1997 (think teal carpet and acoustical seiling) and we also have another laundry room that is well -a pit of disorganization. Come to Manchester, Missouri for a heckofa good time-we’ll take you to the Gateway Arch!
Hello Layla,
I love your blog and i follow it. I would so love it if you and your hubby would come to my house and re-do one, two, three rooms, heck all of them if you’d like. But, seriously, I could use a lot of help with two rooms in particular. They are just begging to be done over in a serious emergency kinda way. I just dont have a whole lot of cash on hand and i wouldn’t know the first thing on how to even start. My husband is short on time and so we never get around to doing a whole lot, but he is willing to help in any way shape or form, we just need help. Absolutely anything that you guys can do or even suggest would be a tremendous improvement. I would really, really, really, LOVE it if you guys came over. I live in Brooklyn, New York, right here in the goold old U S of A. I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this for………….EVER! LOL! So i am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that you feel like coming down to New York and visit with me. I would love the chance to sit and chat and meet you both. Thank you for the chance. And Congrats! Keep up the good work. =)
For the past 3 years we have been turning our retro 70s fixer into into a home fit for young newlyweds here on Cape Cod in MA, and we would benefit so much from you guys! We have done all of the work ourselves (with the help our family- lots of hand to help with the labor!) and now have at least the bones to make some great decorating moves! Your team would be more than welcomed here- and could get in a vacation at the same time! 🙂
And I would LOVE to be a part of option B as well- being around DIY like minded people energizes me!
Would be a dream to have ya’ll come improve anything in my house! First time homeowner struggeling to make things look just right 😉 We have a guest room and basement living room that needs lots of help. But ya’lls touch on anything would be fantastic. Located in Marietta, GA
Ahhhhh you MUST come to Chapel Hill, NC and help us redo a room in our new home!!!!! That would be TOO COOL!!!
We would love to have your help! Noblesville, IN.
I would LOVE help!!!! I have a newer home that I have NO idea what do with!!!! We would LOVE to have you here in PA! Congrats on your opportunity!
OKAY this you might like! ….how about a re-do of a townhouse courtyard in Beaufort South Carolina?
This is not a landscape request Im thinking would be cool with a wall treatment , new back gate, daybed, half pergola and dining space. Oo lala
