Greetings!
We have some exciting news to share today! We’ve been working on something “design TV-related” for a while now, and we’re really excited about the direction it’s moving in.
Think: our blog in 3D…meaning, low-dough/high-smile room redos, real-life DIY adventures, and lots of YOU!

At this point, we need to see if you’d be into A) having us over to help you redo a room or two (or three!), and/or B) helping us redo someone’s elses space(s). (Maybe you’re a mural artist, or a seamstress, or you’d just like to lend a helping hand by painting a wall or working on a craft project with us, etc.)
We also need to know what area you live in. (City/State/Country) (You can live anywhere, and every comment will be read!)
We hoping to round up as many responses as we can in the next 48 hours, so if you’re interested, and you have time to leave a comment, please do!
We’re working with some super-talented and creative folks and they’re very interested in seeing the response to this post, so please don’t be shy, and thank you so much! We’ll definitely keep you posted and we hope to hug you soon!

PS- We’d also like to invite you to join us on Facebook & Twitter!
(We’re seeking responses on those sites too! Thank You!)

Hi,
WOW, tons of comments! AWESOME!
I get inspiration from your blog every day! If I had to pick a room, it would be a fabulous living room for my daughter and her husband. He plays bass in a rock band in Madison Wisconsin, she is a vocalist/daycare provider/new mama and has had a ROUGH year.
In addition to that, I am a seamstress/painter/textile artist and would love to contribute to any project you are involved in. I live in Marquette Michigan <3
I am in Idaho Falls, Idaho and I would love to have your help. Every room in my home needs help. But I do realize Idaho is very far away……from everything it seems.
My kitchen is your basic boring builders job. Nothing “wrong” but nothing to love. I am (timidly! :)) saying that I’d love some help with it! I’d love to turn it into something light and airy, with some touches of rustic and industrial… at least that’s the vision 🙂 Hope everything works out for you guys and these new opportunities!
I am from good ol’ Iowa and would love to have you tackle our dungeon of a basement. I would love to have a cozy family room where we can watch movies and play games. We have 2 boys, age 11 & 17 and 1 girl age 7. I would also love to have a craft room to dawdle around in my free time. We bought my in law’s farm 2 years ago and in 1950 it was given to them as a wedding gift! What a gift that was!
It’s a 1950’s ranch that was stuck in the 50’s in half the house and the 70’s in the addition they put on. We also have an old barn that I am wanting to redo and put in a giftshop to do barn sales 4 times a year featuring area artisians. The other part of the barn and the loft I’d love to put in a bed & breakfast and a place for family to come visit and stay.
If you are up for a visit to good ol’ Iowa, we’d love to have you. If you desire to try the country life, we’ll let you feed the pigs, chickens, rabbits & ducks and even a ride in our John Deere tractor!
Hugs from Iowa
Natalie
wow! how exciting for you guys! i’m sure this will open so many doors for you & your readers, too. i have a room or two that needs some “TLC” 🙂 i’m near richmond, IN. congrats!
Umm…yes, please! I love your vision, and our house needs some help before we bring little ones into this world : ) Come to West Michigan–nothing ever happens around here!
Heck yeah you can come redo any room in my house!
We are ever so slowly fixing up our house we purchased almost 5 years ago. It was a 10 bedroom ex-adult care home. We have turned it into a 5 bedroom single family home again by ourselves, with no contractors, just our own blood, sweat, and tears. At this point we still have the kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and 3 bedrooms left to finish.
I love your style and your blog. In fact your style fits in with the cozy beachy theme we have done so far in our house. I live in Portland Oregon and there are so many cool adventures for you to have around here – in addition to helping on my home!
Hope everything works out for you guys!
Oh, I soooooo want to help with this! Come to California, I have so many spaces in friend’s homes and even our own that need the help of Kev and Layla!!! I’ll be there to help with brad nailer and paintbrush in hand!
xo

YES! Come to the Bay Area and help us with a nursery for baby #2 and our downstairs area!! Who doesn’t love California and nurseries?! We could help you with both! Seriously!! 😉
What exciting news! I would love for some help on a couple rooms in my house! I love everything y’all touch! We live in Birmingham, AL, so it isn’t too far up the road 🙂
I would love for you to come to Fredericksburg, VA (My neighbor loves you and would probably jump at a chance for you to do a room in both of our houses!!)
Layla,
We live in Bay Village, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland). I looove my house…it’s a 1937 colonial, 1258 sq.feet. I have many many things that I would LOVE to do, but I am a busy mom of 4! You would seriously have so much fun in my house, so many projects I’d love to do…my house is a blank canvas that needs your touch!!
We’d love to have you to our home! We live in a cottage with a view of New York City and the Hudson River. We just yesterday finished a mini-remodel that created a new living space that we have NO idea how to decorate. We’re ready to roll up our sleeves and make it cozy!
Layla {and Kevin too!} would you please, please, oh pretty please come to my humble abode in Cecilton, Maryland and help me convert it over to the farmhouse style that I love OH SO MUCH?!
I’d be super grateful! {ps – if you wait until my hubby is deployed again we even might be able to “accidently” throw some white paint on my kitchen cabinets! muwahahahahahahahaha}
OOO How fun!!! I LOVE this idea!! I would LOVE to help if you come to AZ! I’m in PHX and my mom has the PERFECT house to make over! There are some awesome thrift stores down here too. I love finding old treasure and making them new again. With your mad skills we could have some real fun!!
xoxo!

Hi guys,
Sounds llike fun… My family and I live in Greensboro, NC
HOLY MACKEREL! We would love, love, LOVE for you to help us come sort out updating our 80’s home. We’re in the midst of trying to update/pull together our main floor which consists of a carpeted family room with fireplace, dining room and kitchen with oak hardwood floors, (the floors continue through to our front hallway/foyer to the front door) and our main floor half bath/laundry room combo which is currently resplendent with vinyl flooring. We’re in historic and charming Mason, Michigan. (Which also happens to the be county seat… and where we had a lot of excitement when Hugh Jackman came to film for his movie Real Steel last summer.) :o)
OMY GOOD GOLLY GOSH! I would love fo you guys to come help me with my “famous” hallway…ROOMS! My office, Laundry Room and Coat Closet all need HELP! Of course I would love to help anyone else in any way I can! My name is DESTINY and I live in good ole Phoenix, ARIZONA!
I would love for you to come knocking at my doors……I’m in Boston Mass??(I live about 25 minutes north- a place called Danvers Mass..)
Pick me! Our boys would love a fun bedroom or feel free to work your magic in the kitchen. We live in sunny Sothern California, La Mirada! Thanks for your consideration!
I’ve got to write this quick so that I can go sit by the phone and wait for your call…..I’m in Media, PA…the Philadelphia suburbs…..and I’m signing up for my best friend too who deserves something like this more than anything in the world….she’s in Drexel Hill, PA. Got to go!
Oh yeah!!! I have a garage/man cave that’s been closed in and now functions as a junk room/museum for my husband’s treasures as well as our computer room. UGLY is putting it mildly. Needs help!!! Also, planning to close in our back porch to make a sunroom/bedroom so we can wake to the beautiful sunrises we have in South Alabama. I need you…
YES and please! Our place could use some love, especially the kitchen. We’re moving our kitchen from a galley into a big empty room and would LOVE help. We’re in Exton, PA.
Thanks!!
I would love to have you guys come and help us with some design projects. We are getting ready to adopt a baby and are rapidly running out of room. We live in a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom 1920’s bungalow in St. Louis, MO. We love our house, but with 1100 sq feet space is limited. The big project is finishing the basement. The smaller projects are the kitchen and the nursery. Oh to have a money tree in the backyard!
Live in Provo, Utah, USA. The home really NEEDS a make over
I live in Seattle, and I would love to have you come and redo my kitchen. It’s a 70’s galley kitchen and I don’t know where to begin. It needs someone with vision to come up with ideas. PS. We would buy you all the Starbucks you want.
I live on the east coast of Canada (New Brunswick) and I would LOVE for you to come to my house!! I bought a 100 year old brownstone last year which was flipped and stripped of some of it’s character, but some has been retained, like the bannister and spindles going up the stairs, arched window trim, exposed brick. I am slowly putting some character back into the place, by replacing the modern bathroom sink with a pedestal, putting up thick trim around the windows, pine boards down in the bathroom to replace the peel-in-stick floor tile, replacing accoustical ceiling tile with beadboard….etc. I’m trying to get a heritage/cottage/artisitic vibe going on here and I would love to see what would happen if you guys waved your creative magic wand here!! I only live an hour from the ocean…. :O) Good luck to you – you guys rock!
how exciting this must be for you! i LOVE your blog.
i’d love and be ecstatic at the opportunity for you to redo a room in our home in the lovely city of fort worth, texas. as much as i’m sure any other room in the house needs it, i would love to have a redo of our sunroom/ “office”. We have an odd-shaped room with beautiful windows on one wall looking out toward our pool and downtown FW. Only caveat is that our office “stuff†(not much, just computer, printer, etc.) is housed in this room as well and can only fit on the wall with windows for logistical reasons. this makes working with this room a little tricky. at this point, we only have a white couch with the aforementioned desk/computer. this room needs help — a transformation — as I know it could be the loveliest room! i love your blog as you’re so inspiring, yet when it comes to putting this into action, it’s overwhelming! please come to FW! we have great museums, entertainment, and most of all, tex-mex (not to mention, BBQ!)!!
thanks for all you do!
ps, i can paint walls if anyone else needs help : )
We remodeled our home about 3 years ago but the one room we didn’t touch (big mistake!) was the pantry/laundry/catch all room. We’d LOVE to have you work your magic on that room. We live in Lake Oswego Oregon
Can’t wait to meet you 🙂
YES!!! Of course! I love everything you do and copy you studiously!! 🙂 I would love help with jazzing up my split-level home – but mostly I just want to let you know that I love your blog and I hope this turns into something great for you! We live in West Michigan – great little tourist town right on Lake Michigan, you’d love it here!!
Having the two of you come and help redo our place would be amazing! We live in Atlanta, GA and have a narrow living room wth an identity crisis and a guest room/office that is struggling not to become a storage room. Elp is greatly needed!
We have something for you! I’m Swedish married to an American and we live here in the U.S. We just bought a “sommarstuga”, a small summer house on a lake in Sweden. We would love to bring your Cottage style to Sweden. There are many “loppis” flea markets with old antiques nearby, that I’m sure we can find some treasures. If not, there’s always IKEA. 😉

Currently, we live in Westchester County , New York. Our house is located in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Unfortunately, it did not sell as we had expected. My children (a 10 year old and a 13 year old) do not love living in NY. At least once a week they ask “when can we go home?” So, we will probably be moving back to NC. Our house, after four years of living in it, still looks like a builder basic. I’d love some help making it look like “us”. So my question to you is, when will you be getting started?
Love to here from you! Best of luck on your new endeavor!
Gator Colors: Orange on the bottom, Blue stripe in the middle, White on top. Please help me redo what is now MY office! Oh, and the rest of my house is up for grabs in the makeover department, but my office is on design life support. I’m in Clawson, MI and I’d love to help you help me help you help me…
Thanks!
Hey guys, this is sooooo exciting!!!!
We have something for you, in Guadalajara, Mexico!!! We could definitely use your help in our tiny, first home! (our mini foyer/tv room, and our dining room are in desperate need!). And, if you’re up to more challenges and a little trip to the sea, my mom would LOVE your help and your company in her beach house in Melaque. Lovely Mexican beach, lots of sun, great people, and margaritas.
Of course I’m also willing to help you out! I’m and artist, and I love everything DIY!!!!
Hugs!
Absolutely, yes to both! We live in a beautiful 1970’s colonial with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, since we have two little kids, and I have a chronic illness, our remodeling has slowed to a snail’s pace. Let’s just say we starting remodeling the small laundry room when I was 7 months pregnant with my youngest and he is now 2, and it still isn’t finished! Our master bath had 35 year old shag, yes SHAG, carpeting (can you say N A S T Y!), which we ripped out when we bought the place almost 3 years ago. We just painted the plywood sub-floor with white primer, and so it has remained. Needless to say, we could use some help! I love your style, so take your pick on rooms we haven’t gotten to yet – 2 bathrooms, three season sunporch, dining room, office, kitchen, living room….
As for helping with projects, it would fun to work with you. We are very thrifty DIYers. My hubby can literally do anything. He worked in the remodeling/construction biz for over 10 years and he’s just handy in general. I love shopping for deals – I’m the one you see at Pottery Barn Outlet with my feet kicking up in the air as I dig to the bottom of the open fabric bin (Hey, how else does one score a PB ticking stripe accent pillow cover for $1.97?!). HomeGoods is my favorite place on the planet to go when I need to decompress! I’m also pretty crafty/design oriented in general, although I don’t sew. I come up with the ideas like making my daughter’s duvet cover out of two clearance Williams Sonoma tablecloths and then my mom does the actual sewing for me. 🙂 We live in Brighton, MI.
Pick me! Pick me! I live in a 1979 home that we bought 8 years ago from the original owners. The good news — all of the wall paper including the gold, disco-era paper is gone. But our home is a never ending list-o-to-dos and and I welcome the day that I can sit back and say, “hey, what do I want to change” instead of “when I get this and this and this and this done – that’s going to be great”.
I live in Eagle, Idaho – a fabulously fun town right outside of Boise, Idaho. You’re welcome anytime! Come visit 🙂
I am a teacher and I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, about 90 miles north of Chicago. I have helped several friends decorate their homes because I am totally CRAZY about decorating. I sew, paint (walls, furniture, decorative treatments), craft, and coordinate other people’s stuff in ways they didn’t think of. I am invigorated by color and pattern, and I do it all on a SERIOUSLY low budget.
Count me in!
For variety’s sake, will you need to help someone with the outside of their home? Our back patio is pitifully boring. And our driveway needs to be much larger and much more attractive (I could imagine some nice pavers….?…). We would be honored if you would consider including us in your redo tour! Caution: our four kids will talk your ears off and give you lots of hugs! 🙂 Let us know if you’d like to visit our Vienna, VA home. (a Washington, DC suburb) Hope to see you soon!
As if I needed another reason to have a Cinco de Mayo celebration!?!– this is such exciting news! As a “letter-head”, I cannot seem to pull away from your design magnetism! My family is about to move to Marblehead, MA to a charming-1880’s schoolhouse colonial. The town is an idyllic New England nautical community; as former Bostonian’s we used to day trip to the ‘Head’ for picnics to escape the city– we always considered ourselves as tried-and-true urbanites but after a out-of-state transfer and subsequent relocation back to the Boston-area, we could not think of a better place to set up roots. We are preparing for the move and I been obsessively referencing your blog and attempting my own mood boards to pick decor/style– I love your match of sensibility and charm; comfort and classics; while my husband is “in the trade” (running joke as he is a construction PM but is a financial manager), I am super-ambitious about any/all design ideas but seem to be periously close to the third rail with all of my attempts at DIY projects. Even if your interest is nonexistent for my future house, I can’t wait to hear more about your 3-D project so I can get motivated on creating an interesting and well-loved space…
Please, please, please come over and redo ANY room of our house. It needs the help desperately!!! We’re in Mansfield, Texas.
This is terribly embarassing because my husband and I designed our house and had it built. We made some real mistakes and now we are trying to fix them with creative decorating amd minor renovating. The main ones are the kids’ bathroom, office and our bedroom. I am completely stuck on these rooms. I just don’t know how to give them life. We live in Pasco, Washington and would LOVE your second opinion!
And if you don’t pick us but end up in our area, just let us know. He is pretty handy with the woodworking tools and I love projects!
I would LOVE some help with our master bedroom. It’s a large, awkwardly shaped space with so much potential I can’t decide what to do! I’m an Alabamian living in Providence Village, Texas.
OR – I would LOVE to get your help re-doing the master bedroom at my parents’ house in Fayette, Alabama. It still has the same country blue, floral swag wall-paper it had when they moved in 23 years ago (the one room in the house that hasn’t been updated!).
I have several great projects in my house. How about a backyard or front porch re-do? Or a playroom decor overhaul? Or our main bathroom…oh there are so many things to be redone. 🙂 Hoover, AL. Come ‘on down!
I would LOVE a room makeover or 4! We have a huge “great room” that is by no means great! Help!
We are in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
I live in the central valley of California, the foreclosure capital of the country. We played by all the rules and then woke up one morning and found they didn’t apply. Like most folks who moved here in the last 10 years our house is underwater. But I love to decorate and doodle in it…now more than ever low/no budget fix ups are required because it ain’t worrth what we paid for it (and child #3 leaves for college this fall). Come on over. We can work all day and relax by the pool in the evening.
Oh my goodness, this is sooo exciting!! We would love to have ya’ll come help us with our home and it would be so much fun to meet you!! We live in a suburban home, built in 2001..very cookie cutter and could really use some LC help! We live in The Woodlands, TX 🙂
My oldest daughter lives in Irondale, just outside of Mountain Brook. She’s in a small 2 bedroom home and would LOVE to have your magic touch in her home. She coaches and teaches at Mountain Brook Jr. High, and is single, so doesn’t have much help/time for decorating. Her dad and I live in a northern suburb of Atlanta and can’t get over as often as we would like.
I also have a son that just purchased a new home in Dallas, GA. It’s a lovely little house, your basic cookie cutter 3/2. He and his fiance don’t have a lot of decorating skills yet since they’re new to this homeowner stuff.
And last but not least, my second daughter lives in Hiram, GA. She and her hubby just gave us our first grand baby, (on Apr 26th!) Everett Daniel. They also live in a small cluster home community with a basic 3/2.
I love, love, love, decorating and help when I can, but they all would REALLY love someone with your creativity helping them. So take your pick – #1, #2 or #3!!
Barb
Help make my 1920s home the gem it longs to be one day.
Springfield, OH
Hannibal, Missouri, USA…We live on a farm. My husband farms full-time livestock and crops, and I work for a nonprofit organization. Our old, but simple farmhouse needs some TLC.
My 6-year-old daughter says all the time “PAH-Lease can you decorate my room, Mommy?” or
“Could you have someone come to our house Mom? We need decorating.”
We are a family of four & live near Madison, Wisconsin. We have owned our partially renovated farmhouse for at least 10 years and have dreamed up it’s future – except for the decorating part!
Our new-basic-but-undecorated-bedrooms and bathrooms would sing with your expertise. Our master bath is just waiting to be finished (big items are just sitting in the room waiting for “their day”).
My husband (Kev) & I worked on projects together until our kiddos came along (our son is 3). Kev had to take a night job this year so our “honey-do-together-projects” are waaay on the back burner (Turns out 6-year-old- little-girls, and old homes, don’t like these explanations).
We’d love to dream, recreate and decorate with you! PAH-Lease, PAH-Lease come to our house-we’ll give you cheese! :0)
Sincerely,
Ang & Kev
Miss D & William
(pretty please?)
I have been waiting for you to get your own show, you were MADE for t.v. with all your skills and personality. It was just a matter of time! Anyways, I live in Audubon, PA. I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE if you could work your magic on my kitchen. You’d know just what to do, I’m sure of it!
As for helping others, if you do a show in Tuscaloosa I’d totally be on board. I feel helpless up here in the northeast and would really appreciate the opportunity to help the tornado ravaged areas down south. As long as I’m pumped up on sweet tea, I’ll do anything!
