Calling All E-Friends

May 5, 2011 By Layla

Greetings!

We have some exciting news to share today!  We’ve been working on something “design TV-related” for a while now, and we’re really excited about the direction it’s moving in.
Think:
our blog in 3D…meaning, low-dough/high-smile room redos, real-life DIY adventures, and lots of YOU!

At this point, we need to see if you’d be into A) having us over to help you redo a room or two (or three!), and/or B) helping us redo someone’s elses space(s). (Maybe you’re a mural artist, or a seamstress, or you’d just like to lend a helping hand by painting a wall or working on a craft project with us, etc.)

We also need to know what area you live in. (City/State/Country)  (You can live anywhere, and every comment will be read!)

We hoping to round up as many responses as we can in the next 48 hours, so if you’re interested, and you have time to leave a comment, please do!

We’re working with some super-talented and creative folks and they’re very interested in seeing the response to this post, so please don’t be shy, and thank you so much! We’ll definitely keep you posted and we hope to hug you soon!

PS- We’d also like to invite you to join us on Facebook & Twitter!

(We’re seeking responses on those sites too! Thank You!)

Yes! We started on my 16 year old’s bedroom a few months back – and she completely lost interest. Now THAT would be a challenge! Working with a 16 year old? HA! We are in Peachtree City, Georgia (south of Atlanta) and I do a little sewing.

don’t have a redo for you (since I live in someone else’s house I don’t exactly have the authority for that!) but would love to help and I have summer’s free in my corner of the world just outside of Philadelphia. 🙂

Oh My!! When can you make it to Canada!! St.Catharines, Ontario Canada that is! The main floor of our home is just under 500 square feet. I would LOVE to have you come make over any room in our home, but it is our “Master” bedroom that really needs the most help!!

Decorating small spaces is a challenge often overlooked and very much a challenge!

Although I am not very “skilled” at any one thing, I can bake real well and would gladly help feed the crew 🙂

Any chance I could get to get into you and your husband’s space would be awesome. I love your creativity and sense of humor. And I’m close! Atlanta, GA, USA!

If you need a spare hand for painting or anything, really, I’m teachable! Hope this takes off for ya!

Would LOVE it. We have a big finished basement that’s an office, guest room, laundry room, and has been a wasteland for every piece of furniture, decorations, etc that is not being used in the rest of the house. It’s a hot mess. My husband works from home, and gets to spend all day looking at it.

We are in Middletown, Connecticut. It’s about 20 minutes south of Hartford.

I would love to help you re-do my boyfriend’s home, specifically his living room. He took out all the carpeting a couple of years ago with the intent of putting down tile (he even has the tile in his garage) but life’s curves have kept him from completing his man cave. It’s in desperate need of a transformation.

I tweeted and facebooked you, so hope this isn’t overkill. Would big, fat puffy heart love for you to come to Charlotte, NC. I have a little boys room that needs some Kevin & Layla love and a “formal” living room I’m trying to turn into a home office but am kind of stuck (computer wires are tripping up my furniture placement).

I’m also a good painter, decent artist, and average handy woman. I’m willing to pitch in with any help you need (even if it’s not at my house). 🙂

So excited for your new adventure! You deserve it!

I wouldn’t mind either option. I have plenty of rooms to re-do (ahem, kitchen, craft room, and master bath are on that list) and I wouldn’t say no to helping on a re-do for someone else. You can find me in Atlanta, GA working on this diamond in the rough.

YES, YES, YES! Would love for you to come to our house!
We are in Ramsey, NJ (not too far from the Real Housewives, but I swear NOTHING like them…)
We want to redo just about every room in our house, but most importantly we’d like to finish our large basement and make it into a playroom/music studio/media room… Or maybe the kitchen… Or maybe the boys’ rooms… We’d be happy with anything!
My husband is super handy and I am a beginner at sewing (and we’re both structural engineers)…

My husband and I are in the process of overhauling a house as we speak. We have worked in every room but the bathrooms. Those are going to have to wait. I love your style… I could move into something you have done and not change a thing….. your ideas have been an inspiration to me. This is the home we are planning on finishing raising the kids and growing old in. Come see us.

I would LOVE it if yall stopped by Oklahoma City!! We live in what I like to call a “shabby chic cottage”. My husband, who is also a musician like Kev, and I want to DIY many things in our home!! We have already tackled a few project ourselves. Love your blog and your style 🙂

    Hey Layla and Kev,
You can come to my house and redo any, I mean ANY room you would like! We recently moved into a 1970’s ranch, with not much character. I think I have a project going in about every room! I am little ways from you guys, out in the middle of nowhere, in a great state called Kentucky. I would be willing to help with my house, or any other house you need me for. I love to paint, and just recently took a step out in trying to start my business (redoing furniture)! Love your blog and I hope this adventure goes well for you! Hey, on a side note you should check out showhope.org. I just heard about it. It is an organization that helps fund adoptions, it is masterminded by Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife Mary Beth!
Good Luck on this new path!

This is a shot in the dark and not unlike purchasing a lottery ticket from the 7/11 down the street, but because I am a dreamer and ever hopeful I would love for you to come visit us in Stockton, CA. I need lots of help with a redo. Even if you’d come by on your way to someplace else would be EPIC!!! So, see you soon?

    Come to Chicago!!!

In fact, we live in Cicero, IL but we’re close enough to the city to fully enjoy the benefits of craigslist- free section and so many delicious Estate sales (from which have come many of the treasures in our little home!) I love the rooms you guys have done! My husband and I would be glad to help in any way…(Scavenging, painting, etc.)
Specific rooms… Kitchen, Bathrooms (we have one that is so tiny it’s like you’re on an airlplane), sunroom, backyard, bedrooms, porch, “library.”

Oh, oh, oh! I’ve been taking pictures of my house lately to see which room I want to submit to “PICK MY PRESTO” and I have three that desperately need help!! I caught the DIY bug about 2 years ago and I have NO IDEA what I’m doing!! I start a project, don’t exactly have the vision to finish, leave the project sitting there, and drive my husband crazy in the process!! Please come to our 70’s dated ranch style house in PENSACOLA, FL! I think you know the way!!! And my husband is such a handyman, as well as my dad (a contractor) – nothing scares us and we will gladly pitch in!! Also, my husband is from Prattville and we have lots of friends and family there…does that help? That I’m totally using that as a connection? No, well, ok – I thought it was worth a shot!! 🙂 Good luck with your new adventure!

You should make your way to Norman, OK. Two of my best friends and I are moving into a rent house and would love for you guys to come and help make it into a beautiful space that we love! We would love to decorate our living room or kitchen/dining room. We are into vintage, casual, and fun designs and know that your style will fit perfectly into our house.

Holy kitten crap! I’d love to have y’all come to our house in Atlanta to redo as many rooms as possible. We live in a Cape Code style home that was redone and added onto by my husband’s father – who was the first dean of architecture at GA Tech – right before he passed away about 10 years ago. His father loved Frank Lloyd Wright and our home is very…unusual, and it was also a labor of love. I believe the home was built in 1954, and since I moved into a family home that was already decorated when I married my husband, the decor is absolutely not my style. While the house is beautiful, I do not feel at home there, even after a couple of years. I love French cottage and I adore all of y’alls work and would love the opportunity to have some rooms redone. My husband and I are not super handy, but we are fast learners and we can paint! Also, I love to bake and can supply sweet treats made in my small, galley kitchen! – Nicole
