Greetings!
We have some exciting news to share today! We’ve been working on something “design TV-related” for a while now, and we’re really excited about the direction it’s moving in.
Think: our blog in 3D…meaning, low-dough/high-smile room redos, real-life DIY adventures, and lots of YOU!
At this point, we need to see if you’d be into A) having us over to help you redo a room or two (or three!), and/or B) helping us redo someone’s elses space(s). (Maybe you’re a mural artist, or a seamstress, or you’d just like to lend a helping hand by painting a wall or working on a craft project with us, etc.)
We also need to know what area you live in. (City/State/Country) (You can live anywhere, and every comment will be read!)
We hoping to round up as many responses as we can in the next 48 hours, so if you’re interested, and you have time to leave a comment, please do!

I would love for you to come to my home in Birmingham, MI. We live in a 1920’s cedar shingle colonial that has lots of charm but not lots of storage space. I would love to meet you both. Our home is ooozing with personality and potential. Birmingham, MI is a great place to visit and was votest one of the Coolest suburbs to live by Travel and Leisure magazine in 2010. We have a darling daughter who is seven and a super cute Bichon Frise……:)
First of all…Congratulations! Y’all are awesome and deserve it.
Second, I’m sure you know lots of people in this industry, but I, and my business partner would love to help out in any way with decorative painting. We have together run our faux finishing business for over 6 years and Jaime has been doing it for over 15. We also make our own line of home decor products (frames, quote plaques, signs) that we build ourselves and put our decorative finishes on.

How exciting! I have loved your website and think you both are so blessed to be doing something that fits your talents so well! We are about to sell our first DIY cottage and I am super sad about it. But we are about to put in an offer on the next DIY deal and it has some very challenging room layouts. I am a realtor and weekend warrior and the floorplan has had me baffled at this moment. If we get it I would love to try to get input from everyone about how to repurpose the space. We live in Birmingham, AL just uphill from Prattville! I am really looking forward to how this pans out.
Hi guys! I love your style and the way you can repurpose just about anything into something unexpected and beautiful. I live in Orlando, Florida with my dear hubby and our children. We have a lovely home that could really use some creative hands to help it look as wonderful as it feels to us. While any room could use a make over, selfishly, I would love it if you would come and create a master bedroom that my husband and I would make time to BE THERE and not just pass through as we live from day to day. Somewhere I would purposely go and sit and relax, not just somewhere to fall into bed after a long day. I am very good at following instructions and can sew fairly confidently, and paint and I have used some gorilla glue :), so that is something. I would even love helping you make over some one else’s project–I could watch, do, take notes and learn and hopefully glean some great ideas to use in my own home. Either way, this is an awesome offer for your readers. Thanks for giving us the chance for something wonderful.

Wow! Lots of responses! We live in an ADORABLE 1929 Cape Cod style cottage in Portland, Oregon. We have been working our tails off on the outside since we moved here 9 months ago. We haven’t started the inside and every room is cute, but needs TLC and a good eye and some solutions for small spaces as well! My hubs is handy at everything, but only has 2 hands! We are totally into low-dough high smiles and plenty of hard work. Would LOVE your help! You guys are awesome!

Hi to you both. If you only knew how much fun I have following you two. You are right up there with my nightly Will and Grace re-runs. I really think you two should star in a SitCom or maybe a Sit-Dec! Ha. (Great idea Kath). Anyway I have lots of untapped talent that needs direction and lots of rooms that could use your flair. I have a new house and with two kids in college and one in middle school it still has the fresh from the builder look. I am quite the cottage seamstress and can sew a pillow or slipcover a sofa in the blink of an eye.
I am in Flowery Branch Ga. just a couple hours from Alabama with lots of great Kev and Layla bait…great thrift haunts, Pottery Barn outlet, Ikea…c’mon its been a while since you’ve had the meatballs.
I’m a pretty new follower of your blog – but loving it so far. My husband and I love to DIY, but after a ton of work, 1.5 yrs of remodeling, and then having our first daughter, the renovations have been at a standstill. We never quite made it to the master bathroom, because it’s pretty atrocious and awkwardly shaped – i don’t have a clue what to d.o with it! 😉 Although really the whole upstairs was pretty much neglected in the remodel because the downstairs was so bad!!

Oh my could we use some help! Option A is for us, although I would love to do option B too! We live in Purdue Boiler Country in Indiana! My husband and I just moved into our victorian home that we have been remodeling for a year. We still have three rooms that need some desperate attention and work done to them!!!!!
Oh * My * Gosh!! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the chance to work with you guys in either scenario. I have a room ( master bedroom) that I would love to have re-done.Right now it’s red. Yep…..you read it right….Red…in a master bedroom. I’ve got lots of ideas floating around in my head and it’s funny because I have been on an “anti-blue hue” campaign for the last 10 years. Now here you two waltz in and I find myself in the paint section looking at colors with names like Sea Breath, Blue Whisper and Aqua Frost! What the heck??? Anyway, my point is that your style and execution has made me change my mind and I love it! That’s what design is all about….evolution! I would love to see what we could do to that room.
If I was able to help you on a project for someone else, that would be like a little dream. To see the joy on their face, would be so rewarding~to feel the joy in my heart would be priceless.

Yes & Yes. I live in Winter Haven Florida & would be up for you doing anything you want in my house. I LOVE your design style. I live in a 3 brdrm 1950’s ranch with all pocket doors. I have so many ideas for the place, but we’ve only been here a year… I’m a stay at home momma of 2 lil darlings. we have to do stuff cheap & at a slower pace than I really want…although i never get bored. Dreaming is so fun 🙂

How exciting! We built our home thirteen years ago and I have thoroughly enjoyed decorating it from a blank canvas. But, our family room has been basically the same for that many years and it SO needs a makeover. We’re smack in the middle of the Midwest, Cherokee, Iowa. 🙂

If you guys are ever in the NW suburb of Atlanta area, then come on over!! Our house was built in the 80’s with popcorn vaulted ceilings and all, and is in dire need of your charm and character. I would love to help you guys do any needed work–I’ll trade you some manhours for some babysitting time for my 2 little guys?? Not sure how feasible that would be ; ) But, I do like to paint (canvas or paper, that is), so if you ever want a certain subject painted as a gift (free for you guys for all your inspiration over the past couple years), then let me know. Don’t have a webiste or anything, but I can email you some paintings I’ve done of my kids.

We’re also beginning to think of turning our guest bedroom into a big boy room for our 18 month old so he can move out of the nursery. uh, YES PLEASE to number one! I live in a long, narrow townhouse in Woodbridge, Virginia, (south of DC) with an open floor plan, and builder grade everything.
I am completely baffled by furniture arrangements, and my “family room” is really just a dumping grounds for all the stuff I don’t know what to do with. Plus, when all of the walls in the house are connected to everything else, how do you seamlessly change paint colors from room to room?
And I would really love some help with a weird little nook that is supposed to be an eat-in kitchen area, but there’s too many of us (family of six) to use it as a breakfast nook. Unless you don’t mind being smushed against a wall….
