Greetings!
We have some exciting news to share today! We’ve been working on something “design TV-related” for a while now, and we’re really excited about the direction it’s moving in.
Think: our blog in 3D…meaning, low-dough/high-smile room redos, real-life DIY adventures, and lots of YOU!

At this point, we need to see if you’d be into A) having us over to help you redo a room or two (or three!), and/or B) helping us redo someone’s elses space(s). (Maybe you’re a mural artist, or a seamstress, or you’d just like to lend a helping hand by painting a wall or working on a craft project with us, etc.)
We also need to know what area you live in. (City/State/Country) (You can live anywhere, and every comment will be read!)
We hoping to round up as many responses as we can in the next 48 hours, so if you’re interested, and you have time to leave a comment, please do!
We’re working with some super-talented and creative folks and they’re very interested in seeing the response to this post, so please don’t be shy, and thank you so much! We’ll definitely keep you posted and we hope to hug you soon!

PS- We’d also like to invite you to join us on Facebook & Twitter!
(We’re seeking responses on those sites too! Thank You!)

Absolutely love your design!! Instead of offering my home to decorate I would love to offer my help. I can paint a wall, pick up trash, hammer a nail, whatever it takes to help someone have a happy home. My location is near Asheville, NC. (P.S. I can even throw in my handy man husband to help out 😉
Yes, please! I’d love to have you come and do a room in my house, but I also think it would be super fun to help you guys out with someone else’s house too. I’m a crafty girl and would love too work with you on a project. i can paint too, or help demolish something! 🙂 I’m in Robesonia, PA
Temple, TX NEEDS you!!!! My historic home in a quaint historic district would be thrilled to see your smiling face!
Oh wow! What an amazing opportunity for some lucky person/people to have you and Kevin do a makeover! I love your style and could only dream of having your help. However, if you are interested, I’m REALLY stuck in my decorating efforts of a few rooms in a house we bought on a 30 acre horse farm located about 30 minutes east of Tampa, Florida. I have the funds for decorating, but I’ve pretty much hit a brick wall when it comes to ideas. (I do plan to incorporate many of your ideas from the “Bright” design plan into my “formal” dining room though.) Could I entice you to come here by offering a horseback ride…or two? If you had time to make it a “working vacation” you would be really close to Tampa’s Busch Gardens, and only about an hour away from all the Orlando theme parks. 😉
P.S. Probably my best DIY skill is painting. I’m a VERY neat painter. 🙂
My husband and I would love to be involved in a project with you! Mike is quickly racking up expertise with everything (electrical, drywall, framing) and I’m learning how to support him in everything! We live in Minneapolis, MN and would be up for day trip somewhere! I’m a teacher, so I actually have a lot of time this summer that I could donate to a fun and crafty cause (although I am admittedly the less skilled of this Allen team.) If we would be blessed enough to receive your amazing styling, I think I’d choose the dining room/living room (it’s one long room) because we’ve had some color drama with the paint and can’t quite decide on anything for the walls. If you’re able to wait a year on the room makeover, we’ll be finished with our basement renovation by then (say a prayer that we really are finished in a year!?!) and you could help us with the decor down there instead!
I can’t wait to see your projects, wherever and with whomever they may be!
My husband actually believes that a camp chair from Bass Pro should be a piece of furniture in our family room in the basement we (the royal we-I mean he) are finishing. Help me!
I live in Denmark, WI (10 miles south of Green Bay). I could also use some help with my living room/kitchen/dining area. It doesn’t look finished. I have a tendency to be spare with my decor and I might have gone a bit too spare. But I’m not too sure what to add. And I don’t want to look like I have a ton of junk. So I guess I need help in 2 places. Priority on the camp chair situation please!
Thanks a bunch!
Michelle 🙂
Love it! How about my “1970s harvest gold bathroom?” It has lots of potential. I am in Irvine, CA. I might be able to help you, too, with things like painting if you are nearby (sorry, I don’t sew!). Steph.
I love your style!
I love your blog!
I love how you help people!
What a blessing it would be for you to come to Scotts, Michigan (USA) and put your amazing talent to work in our home. Even more… I would love for you to come and transform my sister’s home. It is in need of much love!! I am willing to help in anyway I can!
We’re in Roscoe, IL in a fairly new home (eight years old) with ZERO personality. We’d LOVE your help!
yes yes yes! please come to my new house. it’s an empty canvas just waiting for you two!! i live in alpharetta, georgia, just north of atlanta–and only 30 miles from IKEA!!!
Please pick my sister’s house!! She not a blog addict like I am and since I live in Ecuador and am thinking you need something a bit closer to home…..I would love to see her living room re-done…..but don’t tell her I told you! She lives in Van Wert, OH.
I’m packing my paint brushes now…just in case I get the call 😉
Would love to help ya’ll out in any way I can. Susie Bloop!
Um…do you even need to ask?!?! You can come do my entire house! Seriously, take your pick. I’m in Chattanooga, TN area.
Any chance you’d like to come to Cincinnati, OH? Should I mention that there’s a prime reality TV audience here?? (That’s actually true.) I’ve got a condo in a building from 1880 that was re-done. The re-do just seems sterile (plus there’s this weird bump-out in the living room that no designer I’ve talked to has been able to come up with a solution for!). You could have your pick of rooms – I couldn’t even decide, as I *love* every room re-do from your house that you post on here! (and every room in my house needs help!) Good luck with everything!
I’d love for you to come help me re-do a room- totally digging your style and in the midst of turning our ranch house into a carolina cottage- Charlotte, NC.
Also, my sister and my mom (who lives by my sister in Van Wert, OH) are muralists. I’m sure they would love to help!
I would love for you guys to come help me and my husband in Hoover Alabama! We just bought our house a few months ago and we would love to have you guys come and put some love anywhere in our new house. You can take your pick… we got an empty bedroom, bathroom, dining room, man cave or living room. 🙂
We would love your help in Encinitas, CA (San Diego). We have a couple rooms that could use sprucing up! Thanks. 🙂
I would love to have you and Kev come and redo a room for me and my family. I would also be up for option B. I live in Portland, OR…
I have actually tried (and feel like I failed!) to recreate some of your styles in our kitchen and bedroom. I would love for you to come to the Dallas area and show me your tricks. Annnnnnnd….Canton is only about an hour drive and is home to the world’s largest outdoor trade days (how’s that for trying to entice you to come here?!)!
um………yes please! I live near Dallas, tx and my house needs help!
Pretty please! I would love you guys to come do something in my house. We’ve lived in it for a year now and it is so plain. Just a box really. It has sloped ceilings and I don’t know what to do with the main floor of my house. I see a lot of individual things I like, but I can never pull together a cohesive look.
Your style is what I love and I have no idea how to achieve it on my own.
I live just outside Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Only an hour and a half away from beautiful Banff in the Rocky Mountains.
WOULD LOVE YOUR DECORATING TOUCH! I have a living room, bathroom and nursery that is crying out for help. We are a clean slate and pretty handy, just not that creative in the decorating department. We live in Novato, California (30 mins north of San Francisco, 30 mins south of Napa Valley) Let’s eat, drink and decorate together!
Come to Anoka, Minnesota! We’d love to have you. Our 80’s house needs your special touches. We’re almost ready for a master bedroom redo as well as a master bath reno.
I would love to help you guys with any project too. Painting, sewing, crafting, etc.
Have fun
I hereby volunteer my own house (any room, really), and I’ll even throw in my mother’s kitchen for free. It is aw.ful. And she knows it :). We’re in South Bend, Indiana, and my mother is in Corydon, Kentucky. And either way you choose, you would get to hang out with two super cute Ethiopian-born kidlettes ;).
come to my house Kevin and Layla.. i need all the help i can get in this living room.. come on over to columbus ohio… i love your blog and have learned so much from you….
Heck yes! Option A please! I have a 3 season porch that could use your touch most definitely! A bedroom, living room… lot’s of options!
Minneapolis, MN
um, yes please! come visit us in west texas!!!!! i would LOVE help with several rooms in my home. we bought a fixer-upper almost 2 yrs ago & the hubby & i have been redoing it room by room. his next project is to build the day bed that y’all just made in your reading room!! 🙂
anyway, we live in midland, texas
I am in Southeast Ga, about 3 hours southwest of Tybee. My living room is a HUGE challenge! The space itself makes it difficult but it has some VERY cool features. I welcome you guys to make sense of it. I am not that far from you!
Yes please! Any room in our house would do. We live in San Luis Obispo, CA.
I live near Baltimore, Maryland and I could find many houses with many rooms for you to work on ;). I would love it and lots of friends in this area who would love it!
YES PLEASE!!! I would absolutely LOVE for you to come help me out with my nonexistent style! Seriously, I’m lucky I match my outfits in the morning 🙂 I live in Dayton, Ohio and we sure could use some excitement around here!
Pick me! Pick me!
We are in northern Indiana, two hours west of Chicago, on a charming lake in a wonderful Cape Cod that looks like and can definitely become a dream cottage on the lake, but it has some “oops, we ran of money so just slap something up” moments from the original owners that we are gradually trying to eradicate. I love your style, and am trying to follow it for my “urban lake house” that literally fuses two worlds (walk in the back door off a city street and into one of the most peaceful and relaxing lake views out the front windows that I dare say anyone has ever seen). We call our pad “The Rookery” because we are basically an airport for great blue herons, with which I am obsessed, and our fam of four even downsized by a whopping 1600 sq feet from our last home, just so we could live the laker life. Loving it but would love your help with some much-needed updates in our master bath and to help optimize the flow and views of our great room/dining room area! Can’t wait to hear your news!
Ed: we are EAST of Chicago! 😉
My parents could really use you! They are in Houston, TX.
Yes please, I live in a house built in 1890 in historic Holly Springs, Mississippi. I’m 30 miles outside of Memphis Tennessee. I love your style, come on over!
I’ve loved reading every reply and don’t know HOW you’ll choose! We’re moving from Cincinnati to the Leelanau penninsula of Michigan (Northport) this summer to a house on Lake Michigan with stunning views from every room! It’s really the Family room that has me stumped! And a weird room that was used as an aviary. Have fun wherever you go!!
Pretty please come help us in Indianapolis, IN!!! I’m also a florist if you need some pretty floral arrangements to compliment a newly decorated room!
Please. Pretty Please? I would LOVE for you to come to my house. If there is anyone who would need your help it’s me. It took me 7 years to buy curtains for my living room windows. Yah, this gir has got some issues making a decision. Any room in my house would be game, especially my two little girls bedrooms and the family room. See you in Sebeka MN!
A) YES, yes, yes, please!
We live just outside of Columbia, SC.
COME TO NASHVILLE!!! I’m fairly close. You probably like our fair city. You could build in some Nashville music fun while you’re here. I have an awkward, boring two-story living room in a non-descript subdivision spec house. I would love to give it cozy character with your special touches. PICK ME! PICK ME!
A babe from green country here and boy could we use some assistance! I have a kitchen begging for warmth and love. Plus a mean desire for some handsome transoms. Let me know if you all ever get down this way, hearty meals will be provided.
Lots of love,
Green Country Gang in Broken Arrow, OK
Dayton, OH Please come and redo a room in our home! We are a young couple with two beautiful babies under 2! (1 year and 20 days a part to be exact) We live in a 1940’s brick ranch that needs some TLC. Not one room in our house is “finished.” We would love to have your help. 🙂
Pick me…pick me…. Calhoun,GA.
I would LOVE to have your help at my house! Also be glad to help at someone elses house, but you would have to give me great directions. My skill level isn’t *ahem* quite up to yours.
Raleigh, NC
I would love to have you over to my house. It would be a little challenging. I am currently renting in Richmond, VA. We are looking to move next May closer to the West coast. We are planning on buying our first house next summer. But if you are planning on trying some of this out next year I would love any and all help with actually putting my own space together. Thanks
Hey TLC,
I love this blog now and you are more than welcome to come down to Brisbane Australia and help me fix up my Old Queenslander. An Old Queenslander is a popular home pre and early post war in Queensland (our state). Look it up mate – i know you’d love the style as its similar but totally different from USA home styles back in the day. Our house was built in the early 1940s and is in need of a little work and some great decorating ideas – we still have very little furniture and i need your brains to help me make it what it should be.
Cheers from Down Under, hope you have the adventures in you to make it.
Grange (city/Suburb), Queensland (State), Australia.
Yes yes yes please!! I think I might die if you came to my house to help me work on it! I am all for Plan A – my boyfriend and I just moved into our first home 2 weeks ago – a charming little 88 year old in Cleveland Heights, OH with it’s original dark woodwork and crown molding. In an ideal world, I would love to keep some of it’s old charm but add in the cottage-y touches you guys do/feature and I’m having such a hard time focusing. We adore antiques, reclaimed items, vintage, cottage appeal and are very hands on and enthusiastic! I paint, sew, knit, craft, garden, we brew beer, and are always looking to take on new knowledge through household projects! We live frugally but are still on a tight budget which limits our affordability for projects.
Come visit my home for a redo any time! Tulsa, OK is a great place to visit!
Yes to Question A! We’re in Sandpoint, Idaho!
Heck yeah! I’m up for A or B!!! I’m pretty good at painting :). Bring it on up (over?) to Olathe,Ks. Right outside of Kansas City.
