The Lettered Cottage E-zine

May 2, 2011 By Layla

Hi.
We’re Kevin and Layla Palmer. We like to take road trips, and chances, and photos of people’s places.

Late last Summer, we started putting some of our photos together in our own own little e-zine, and we’re so excited to finally release it here on our blog today! It’s short, but sweet, and we really hope you have fun flipping through it!

Click on the cover below to view the full-size, interactive issue in a separate window…

But before you click away! We both wanted to say thanks so much for taking the time to check it out, and for continually inspiring us to jump in our car with our computer and our camera. We appreciate your encouragement, and can’t tell you how much we enjoy exchanging inspiration and ideas with you!

Happy May!

PS- The links in the e-zine are live this time, so as you flip through, you can click on any of the web addresses you see. Also, to the folks have asked about hard copies- if you’re interested in printing out a copy of either of our e-zine (Summer Fun or Screened Inn) there is a print option in the top left hand corner of the screen when you’re viewing the full-size issue. Thanks again!

You out did yourselves! I loved it sooo much! It made my heart skip a beat. You are destined to do great things, Miss Layla! Thank you for sharing your passion with me…

I am writing a Ebook about how to start a design business, whether a decorating, faux, furniture etc . It will be a step by step guide (on many different design careers) for those who don’t have the time or money to get their Interior Design degree. Great out of the box ideas to make their business stand out and get recognized! And inspiring tips to make them better designers! I hope to have it out in a month or so. 🙂 I would love to buy an ad space here for it. Can you send me pricing on that? Thank you in advance…I look forward to hearing from you!

    Hugs, Meme

BTW, A reminder to you and your readers..I am having a Giveaway Series…first one is a slipcover for an ottoman…I will reveal the next one on FRIDAY! 🙂 screamingmemedesigns at gmail dot com

How timely for me! I just bought a little 1923 cottage and I’m going over today to start painting, and planning how to decorate. You two have been an inspiration to me for the past year, so you can bet there’ll be plenty of “Lettered Cottage” influences…if not down right stolen ideas!! My favorite blog, bar-none!! Thanks for all you do!

      May 3, 2011 at 10:46 pm

WOW! 1923 that is awesome! We hope to own a home that old some day. Thanks for the comment!

I LOVE IT. Thank you, you give me so much inspiration everyday, espically that I don’t need tons of money to redocorate our house. I love reading your blog, up here in Canada winter has been very long, I am itching at starting some projects from ideas I have read here. Keep up the great work.

What a great e-zine. Y’all are so on the ball…..not only with your fabulous decorating projects, but technology, too. I’m very impressed!!! (And a little jealous…….I suffer from technology overload!!) No sooner do I learn something new, that something else is around the corner. Y’all always seem to be one step ahead and I always feel one step behind!!!! But, good for you!!! Love the ezine and love your blog and all your useful tips.

      Thanks for the comment Sheri!

Sometimes I feel a step behind too! Technology seems to move so fast. We had a blast putting this together and I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Gorgeous, I only have one complaint….I sure wish it would have been even longer. You pick such awesome places, I think I would want more even if it were 200 pages. Seriously though, you have created another awesome e-zine with loves of inspiration. Love it!

Absolutely LOVE it! Have been redoing houses for the past 43 years. My husband and I bought our first little house when we were newlyweds and I fell in love with decorating, painting and making it our own right away. Even though we had very little money, I found out I could do so much with so little. Five years later, with two little ones, we bought a much larger house (at least 100 years old) and I learned to tear out walls, refinish floors, and restore it to its original beauty on the inside, just imagining what it must have been like to live there a century ago. Four years ago, with our three beautiful daughters now raising families of their own (now 9 grandchildren), we decided a small cape cod would be more sensible at this time of our lives, and so now I am redoing this little house and loving it. Of course, I can’t understand why I don’t have as much energy as I did 43 years ago and it is taking me much longer to do it. But loving it just the same! Love what you are doing with your lives and talent. So happy for you!
