(Found the old handles on Etsy a while back)
Distressing the edges and adding the hardware as soon as I’ve got the left side done! 🙂
I’m thinking about doing some hand-painting like this on the sides, too:

Off to study Miss Mustard Seed‘s technique!
Just wait until Chapel Market and have Marian do it for you! Then your piece will have been “Mustardized”. 🙂 Everything is lovely and so well thought out–as usual.
Oh, I’m not hosting anymore Chapel Markets, Kristin. The neighbors are putting something together in its place though. Hoping Marian can make it down for that, but we may be visiting Sweet P in Haiti that weekend.
I did wonder when I mentioned that! Oh…so many will be disappointed, however, you started something wonder-full. 🙂 Yes, you have other things to focus on! The next trip will be here before you know it–yippee!
I LOVE your partition wall. I’ve always disliked most open-concept houses because everything, all the chaos, is always right in your face. There’s no escape from it (especially having two kids). So as we are house hunting right now, I keep your wall in mind. Most of the houses we are looking at are open-concept.
Thank you, Jo! I’m with you- if I wanted to live in a loft, we would’ve bought a loft! 😀
good job .love the dresser
Layla, what is the finish of the Simply White paint? We’re doing shiplap in our bathroom and I’m really struggling with what finish to use – matte or satin. Would love to know your thoughts. Thanks!
Ours is satin, Emily. 🙂
Yay! That’s what I bought and then was really second-guessing myself. If you chose satin, I feel good about what I already bought. Thanks, Layla!
No problemo, Emily! 😀
I am in the process of replacing our baseboards and I was wondering what you have used in your living room? Are they just 1″ x 6″ pieces with trim attached to the top? I love them and was hoping to do something similar in our house. Thanks!
Also, what did you use for your ship lap? Thanks!
We used 1″x6″ tongue and groove planks of pine that we got from a local mill. 🙂
Hi Suzie!
Yes, they’re 1″x6″s with trim on top! 🙂
Do you mind telling me what kind of trim it is on top of the 1″x6″? Maybe a picture would be easier? Also is your paneling v-groove?
Sure, Suzie! The planks are tongue and groove, and I’ll email you a photo of the trim. 🙂
Thanks, Layla! A picture would be great!
I just love all of this and watching the process! On a side note: where is the Are you singing bracelet from…I know some people that would love them and wear them daily! 🙂
Thank you! I’ll check with Kevin about that bracelet, Vanessa!
Those handles make for some beautiful jewelry on your armoire – love unique finds like that!
Thank you, Mindy! 😀
