Howdy!
I finally got around to organizing some more pics from our trip to Ree’s ranch this morning.

(Had to bust a squat to line that one up just right! LOL!)
It’s crazy how fast you can take a million photos, but how loooong it takes to upload, download, resize, and organize them, isn’t it?

Here’s a couple shots that Kev snapped in the kitchen…

And here’s one of the dining table that alllllmost came home with us…

It just wouldn’t quiiiiite fit into the back of our car.
I kid. I kid.

A whole lotta good cookin’ goes on in this place.

A whole lotta good eatin’ goes on in this place too.

We’re really looking forward to watching Ree’s new Food Network show, (it premieres on Saturday, August 27th at 10:30 am Central time!) because we need all the help we can get when it comes to cookin’!
That being said, Kev was actually inspired to try Ree’s pot roast recipe today.
From what I understand, the urge came out of nowhere, and was so intense, a spontaneous trip to the grocery store for all the ingredients was made while I was painting some wood in the backyard yesterday.
Here’s a photo of what it looks like when Ree makes it…
Beautiful. Colorful. Delicious.

Hopefully ours will be edible too. LOL!
Now, then…where’s that pot we used to try to make things in before our stove broke last year?
Hmmm….looks like we may need to run to the store again.

I found Ree’s website about a year or so ago and I love it! I spent the better part of a week going back and reading all about how she met her husband and all that they went through. I was hooked! Thanks for sharing the pictures of her beautiful home with us!
You two are such a cute couple 🙂 Looks like a fun trip! Does Kevin serenade you everywhere you go? Lucky girl!
Thanks Tanya. 🙂 Kev is quite the serenader and I LOVE it! 😀
you are adorable! your photos never cease to make me laugh.
Hey, did you notice Kevin has horns in the pic of him playing the guitar? lol I got tickled when I saw it…he’s too sweet a guy to have horns! 🙂
Looks like you all had a wonderful time and how fun to get to go hang out with Ree! Hope you’re gonna share that pot roast recipe!
Hugs to you girlie!
Love ya
Missy
Yeah…I had to bust a squat to shoot that one! 😀
The picture of Kevin with the horns is a hoot!
Patti
Thanks Patti! I couldn’t help but snap it! 😀
Great. Now I’m already hungry for lunch and it’s only 10am. 🙂
Me too! Hurry pot roast, hurry! 😀
Yum!!! Oh and the picture of Kevin with the horns, too funny!!
You two might be the cutest couple ever. Does Kevin have an unwed brother looking for a nice Canadian girl to settle down with by any chance?
In the second pic of Kevin, are those his own horns sprouting of his head or wall decoration? Did you line him up like that intentionally?
I am completely in love with that kitchen! The fireplace and ceiling made me a little weak in the knees.
Thanks for another great post! Also, I just found you on pinterest the other day and that pic of you is amazing!
Cheryl
LOL! He does have a brother…but he is not un-wed. 😀
As for the horn pic, I squatted down and lined him up with the skull on the wall up there. LOL!
Hi! I am new to your blog and I love it! Any clue where the dining table came from? I have major lust going on…
Thanks 🙂
That picture of the two of you is adorable!! Ree’s place is amazing….what fun getting to stay there. Looking forward to her new show on FN.
I must have missed a post, but how did you and the PW get to know one another and become such good friends. I enjoy it when I realize I have friends in common–now I have BLOG friends in common. That is fun too!
I love that dining table too! Great pics!
I would rent a U-Haul right away for that furniture. Love, love it. Those photos of you and Kevin are beautiful, and yeah, include the one with horns too.
Such cute pictures! Have a lovely week!

so fun. love a good pot roast. my tummy’s growling now.
Her place is amazing! That table…oh my! It’s perfect. Hope you enjoyed your pot roast.
You two are toooooo adorable. Can’t wait to see her show !!!!
Hey Layla!
I’m a pro photographer. If you want some hints on how to speed up your organizing, editing process, shoot me an email. 🙂 Happy to help.
I was just at the library yesterday and picked up her cookbook. Can’t wait to sit down and read it! I’ll be anxious to see her cooking show. And, out of curiosity, do you have any idea where she found her bar stools? I’m looking for some exactly like them!
They may be (or are very similar to) Tolix bar stools. The originals are made in France and a bit spendy (tho timeless!). Overstock makes a very inexpensive version. I have sat on both and they are both great!!! I know people have gotten the ones from overstock and taken them to a body shop to be sandblasted down to the steel (more like Ree’s).
I bought Ree’s cookbook last year and the pot roast was the first recipe I tried. Of course I had to have a new dutch oven to cook it in! If I had Ree’s kitchen I might enjoy cooking more. . . .
I love the layout of that kitchen. I have a tiny little square where I trip over myself all the time! She has got the spread… SA-WEET! Looks like the party happens in the kitchen! And so awesome you guys got to be there!
I love your blog, and the kitchen in this post is amazing. If that were my kitchen, I’d have to learn how to cook. I’ll have to check out Ree’s resources. In your comments above, Donna mentions that she can offer tips on organizing photos. I’d love for you to share those tips. I could use a lot of help in that department.
Love PW’s blog and this one too! Her Year of the Pot Roast recipe is my fave. Pre-PW I hated pot roast… now I cannot get enough. Hope you and Kev liked it. That woman has a way with food, design, pics, etc.
I made the pot roast Sunday night. But I could not stick fresh rosemary in there because we housesat another beagle last week and she decided she needed to sleep in my Rosemary pot. It was still really good, though. Going to make her bbq chicken recipe she posted the other day for tonight.
Big fan of PW, just stumbled upon your blog and your fabulous photos! Great work. Thanks for giving me a glimpse into the kitchen of my dreams!
I’m sure if Kevin follows Ree’s recipe the roast will be amazing! Ree’s recipes all come out incredibly delicious! Thanks for sharing your pictures.
I bought her 1st cookbook for my niece for a shower gift and the started checking out her website and was hooked. Its how I found The Lettered Cottage website and now I don’t miss a day at either one of them.
Just had to tell you that my daughter is watching the screen and is utterly convinced that you are on the Hannah Montana TV show. I can’t tell her otherwise. Bethca didn’t realize that you’re already famous, at least amongst the tween crowd =)
You are just the cutest couple. I love your posts.
Speaking of squats….my five year old granddaughter was helping me clown, yes you read that right, and we were getting our picture taken…..she said “Grammy, you got to squat.” He He
Love the picture of you two together. Such a cute couple!
You guys are seriously the cutest! What an amazing place! Too bad the table didn’t fit … it’s pretty awesome.
You and Kevin are the most adorable couple on the planet! I love the photo of Kevin (the one that you had to bust a squat to get) with his horns! That is just too cute! 🙂 I hope the pot roast turned out to be delicious!
awesome. LOVE this. can’t wait to hear allllll about it! 😉
Thanks for sharing, Layla! I’ve yet to meet a blogger IRL. (gotta get to a conference!) But my Wish List is topped by you & Ree! Okay, throw Kev in there too 😉
And it’s so true what you say about photos! Painting the entire tutorial is faster than fixing the pic and uploading them, sheesh! Then add them to Flickr, Facebook, etc? Which I haven’t actually done yet, but it’s one of those things-I-should-do-to-be-a-good-blogger, lol.
That kitchen is amazing and I love that first picture of you, glowing in the light, beautiful!!! Too funny that pic of Kev too! Good luck with the pot roast, I’m sure it will turn out fantastic!
xoxo
Kate
You are so funny, Layla. Thanks for sharing your pictures from PW’s ranch with us. I live in the same small town and I was gonna keep an eye out for you guys, but we headed to Colorado just about the time you left.We may have even passed each other on the road! 🙂 Hope you guys had fun.
I love that you’ve been to her house.
she’s like a star.
well, so are you, now that I think about it. 🙂
RUSTIC, COMFY, GORG SPACE AND HOME. I love a savory pot roast and so does my fam. Love the pic. with the horns… I chuckled out loud. Have a super day. winks-jen
Pioneer Woman is how I found your site… I love you both!
I love how you two seem to be able to find beauty everywhere. What a way to live and what a model you are for people who can’t seem to find it. Every time I look at your site or read one of your blogs, I feel lighter somehow. Thanks so much for your beautiful gift of shining light on the beauty around you.
Why do you and Kevin keep looking younger? It seems unfair to the rest of us! Oh well. We’ll just sit here old and ugly whilst the two of you keep us entertained!
i love Pioneer woman and her amazing blog. Makes me want to live on a ranch!
Layla and Kevin,
Thanks for posting the great pics of Ree’s house. The house is amazing. Love the openness. Good luck with the roast. 🙂
Two things I could stare at all day–Pioneer Woman’s lodge and you. 🙂 Other people might be creeped out by that, but I know I’m safe to say it to you! Great pictures! Can’t wait to hear about that potroast!
Layla,
Save Kevin’s time and grab a slow cooker.
The pictures are beautiful and pretty much what I had envisioned Pioneer Woman living like. Really a Food Network show, sounds like I am going to have to break down and get those premium channels back:)
love it, thanks for sharing! Definitely love PW–hopefully I remember to check out the show!
gorgeous! I would have tried to make off with that table too.
Loved the picture of Kevin and his horns 🙂
You two are just so cute. LOL at the picture of Kevin’s horns! Ree has a beautiful home and we’re looking forward to her show too. My husband does the cooking so can’t wait to see what he thinks of Ree too. 🙂
Do you have the bull by the horns?
Great pics! You two are such a cute couple!
Patti
Beautiful photos, congratulations! I see you had a great time.
