**This giveaway has ended. Thanks so much to everyone who entered!**
Y’all know about my friend Lucy’s jewelry, right?

For those that don’t, she makes her creations from architectural salvage and vintage jewelry and I am just crazy about the stuff!

She sent me this necklace recently, and I literally gasped when I first saw it:

Ya see that strand of cream & gold vintage leaves that make up the right side of the chain? My Grandma Evelyn had a necklace just like that, and man does it makes me smile every time I see it. 🙂
Here’s another one of my favorites:

My wedding anniversary is 6/25, so wearing that one makes me extra smiley, too. 🙂

Since Mother’s Day is right around the corner, Lucy and I thought it would be fun to host a Lucy Lockets giveaway here this week!
The person whose name is (randomly) selected can choose any one of Lucy’s pieces (up to $75). You can see all of her beautiful jewelry at Lucys Inspired, and if you’d like to enter for a chance to win one here, just leave a mom-related message in the comment section below this post. It could be a note about being a mom, or a special story about your mom or grandma- anything that you’d like to share to celebrate the upcoming holiday. 🙂
The giveaway will be open until Wednesday, April 30th at 9am (CST) and I’ll include the winner’s name at the end of this Friday’s post. Good luck and happy Monday!

PS- Instagrammers: Lucy’s Instagram feeds (LucysInspired and Lucys_Lockets) are two of my favorites to follow along with, too! 😉

I absolutely love being a mom. My daughter is the most precious person that I know of. And I am so blessed to still have my mom here. What treasures all moms are! Thank you God for these blessings!
My mom always said, “one of the things that separates us from animals is our ability to accessorize”.
I have been lucky that I have talked with my Mom every day for the past 40 years.
Memories of my grandmother live in the daffodils in the spring, in planting and sowing our garden, in the ice tea I drink, the old glider we have on the porch, truly in most everything around me. Plus, I collect old things that remind me of her.
PS Our anniversary is June 25, too! A great day.
Handmade jewelry is simple the best. This weekend as I hosted out-of-town guests I was reminded of how amazing my mom is at being a hostess. She always cooks amazing food and thinks of everything and makes it look effortless. I’d love to give her one of Lucy’s pieces to tell her how much I admire that about her.
I learned how to be a mom from a long line of great moms!
The blessing of being a Mom has been an adventure to say the least, but the blessing of being a Momoi (a grandmother) has been sheer joy!
I love being a mom!! It’s the most challenging and rewarding thing I have ever done in my life.
Just as I was beginning to realize and appreciate how much my mother had done for me over the years, she suddenly died. I wish I had had more years to give back some of the care she gave to me. You’re never ready to lose your mom, no matter how old you are, and I miss her.
After a year and a half of marriage, and six years together total, my husband and I are officially & actively trying to make our first baby. We moved back home to Daytona Beach from Atlanta at the end of last year to be near my mom and dad. I’ve always heard that it’s good to have family nearby when it comes to raising kids, and my mom is going to make the best grandmother.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately… the kind of mom she is, and was, as I grew up. I already try to do things as a wife the way she has, little things like surprising my husband with an ice cream cake after his first job interview in our new city, making homemade sugar cookies for Easter, and keeping the bathroom faucets sparkling with the wipe of a Kleenex. They may seem like silly things, but it makes a difference in our marriage and in our home. And my mom taught me that.
She taught me to consider the source when someone says something mean. She taught me to do things the right way first so I won’t have to do them again. She taught me to check the recipe twice, take things slow, and always check online for a discount code before I buy a new pair of shoes.
I’ve come to terms with the fact that, in my life, I will forever have two loves: my husband and my mom. And they will both be over the moon on that day when I finally see a little blue plus-sign appear!
My mom makes gorgeous Christmas trees using my grandma’s jewelry. They are one of a kind just like she was.
There’s nothing sweeter than being a mommy! Excited for you as you anticipate welcoming your little man home!
My mom loves unique jewelry! Couldn’t think of a better gift this mother’s day!
I’m brought to my knees each day by my kids and reminded of my daily need for Jesus. And usually end up praying together asking Jesus to help us love one another. Happy Mother’s Day as it is a sweet sanctifying gift to be a momma.
Being a mother is so wonderful and it definitely makes me appreciate my own mother so much more. <3
My first Mother’s Day as a mom was awesome….can’t wait until you get to celebrate yours!
Also I’ve been Mom for 25 years….where did that time go? Wow!
I remember my mom wearing a pretty cameo necklace when I was little….and clip on earrings and big beaded necklaces remind me of my grandma….special memories!
I love being a mom and grandmother!!
Moms are superheroes! World’s best and hardest job all in one!
Being a mom is both the most rewarding and frightening thing ever and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
When I was young, I didn’t want to be just like my mom. Now, I want to be just like her. Even down to the wrinkles in her face.
I would love to win this for my friend who is currently carrying a child with Trisomy 18. She has decided to continue with the pregnancy and is about 7 weeks from her delivery date. To say she is a strong person would be an understatement. This little girl will always be her daughter and her first child. What a great way to commemorate this occasion. Thanks! I just love this jewelry.
I love being a mother, but I am particularly excited this year to be gaining a daughter-in-law! i love her!
Being a mom is the most amazing thing in the world…as you will soon know Layla! There is an indescribable love you have for your child that only other mamas can understand!
My grandma LOVED jewelry. She had this ring where you could change out the center bead with about 10 different beads. I loved to play with her jewelry and especially that ring! On my 18th birthday she gave me her wedding set as my birthday present. She died 3 months later:(. I was so very close to her and even 13 years later I cannot think of her without tears in my eyes. I miss her so much and wish so badly she could see my baby boy! <3 Happy early Mother's Day to all the mommas and grandmammas out there. Nothing is more special than being a mom!
Aww, my granny’s name was Billie Eloise Locket, but everyone called her Lucy Locket. Made me smile to read the name of her shop. So sweet! Her jewelry is just gorgeous.
Love being a mama to two by birth and one through adoption!!!
So lucky to be a mom! Happy Mother’s Day to all mother out there.
My mom passed away at the young age of 59 due to cancer. She was so full of joy even until her last moments. Everyday of her life, she wore a small gold bell on a long gold chain around her neck. (I bought that bell for her when I graduated college and could finally afford a nice gift for her.) When my mom passed away, the bell and necklace disappeared. And even though I would love to have her bell necklace with me now, every time I hear a bell ring, I know it’s my sweet mama in heaven reminding me she can still ring her bell. She is still with us, an angel watching over me and the rest of my family.
I have some of my mom,s and grandmother’s jewelry. I should redo them. Happy Mother’s Day to all moms!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Mothers love little reminders of their babies! These necklaces are lovely and could be sentimental 🙂
I love her jewelry!
But, I love being a Mom even more. My Mother was the absolute best, and although she is no longer with us, I think of her every day. She instilled in me the desire to be a Mom that my son would look up to one day, as I did her.
I will be missing my Mama this Mother’s Day…but I know she is “home” with her Lord and Savior now, healed and at peace!
P.S. My Dad’s mother was an “Evelyn” , too! I love how you cherish your family’s roots, stories and memories…I’m the same way!
My mom is gone and my daughter is gone so I buy a Mother’s Day gift for myself in memory of them.
To be a mother is to breathe……
Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing mom! I still call her for recipes and how-tos. She is so wise! I love her so much. Just wish I could see her more!
Mom’s are blessed in so many ways and when you become a Grandma life is even better! It all starts with Mom and I sure miss my Mom even 25 years later. Breast Cancer took her she was only 56
Being a momma to 5 kids has been the best job I could ever have. There were some rocky days, but I wouldn’t have traded it for the world. I am finding it so interesting now that 2 of mine are adults, how you really get to see the fruits of your labor when you find that they are responsible, kind and loving people.
My mom had a great love of brooches-nothing expensive just unique & lovely like her. When she passed away we divided them among the woman in our family including my daughters. One of my daughters carries a peach daisy pin from the ’70’s in her car right where she can see it every day. I love that! And now I love wearing a brooch too. I peruse fleamarkets & rummage sales for oldie-goldies. Love your blog & am enjoying following along with your adoption story.
Being a Mom and trying to be the best one I can be is the most important thing I’ve done in my life. Now I’m trying to be a good Nana!
My mom is an amazing woman!
To me one of the wonderful things about being a MOM is the everyday lessons I get from my kids: specially those honest, silly and right on point answers they give us to any situation around them.
Being a mom of 3 changed me forever. It made me give up control of what I used to think was important. It made me think ouside of myself and it made my relationship with God and my husband stronger.
Being a mom to my girl with special needs has taught me so much more than I could ever teach her. Special indeed!!
I lost my mom to cancer when I was 10 yrs old. Was just thinking about her favorite song today – Wonderful Peace…
Happy Mothers Day to all you mamas!!
A red rose for the living
A white rose for memories
Happy Mother’s Day!
My Mama was such a special person. She lost her mama when she was 12 and had a very hard life but you would have never known it. She passed away when I was 6 weeks away from delivering my third child, her only granddaughter at that time. That was 32 years ago and both my daughter and I miss this wonderful person with an ache that can only be assuaged by the knowledge that she is waiting for us in heaven.
My Mom is, hands down, the best.
My grandma Elsie was quite the looker with her twinkly blue eyes and pink lipstick. She was always dressed so cute with matching earrings and necklace…but the thing I remember the most about her was her fabulous homemade bread! We kids loved to wake up in the morning smelling her baked bread. We new we were in for a treat every time she visited! But sadly I don’t bake homemade bread but…I love to wear jewelry just like she did! I would love to own one of Lucy’s pieces. Thanks for sponsoring a giveaway and for telling us about her!
