Y’all know about my friend Lucy’s jewelry, right?
For those that don’t, she makes her creations from architectural salvage and vintage jewelry and I am just crazy about the stuff!
She sent me this necklace recently, and I literally gasped when I first saw it:
Ya see that strand of cream & gold vintage leaves that make up the right side of the chain? My Grandma Evelyn had a necklace just like that, and man does it makes me smile every time I see it. 🙂

Being a mother of 4 has been the greatest blessing of my life. I underwent fertility treatments for all 3 pregnancies.. Pregnant 3 times and 4 kids.. Wait..what? Yep God blessed me with a set of twins! I love that God graced me with my beautiful family!

I love Lucy’s jewelry!! Her pieces remind of going to my great grandmother’s house. I used to love going through her jewelry boxes full of big pieces of costume jewelry. I would try on jewelry for hours. Great memories!
Long before I was a ‘real’ mom, I learned you can have the heart of a mom just by loving the children in your life, whether related or not. Sunday school kids, your bf’s little one, a coworker’s grandchild, they all expand your heart and teach you how to love unconditionally. By the time I had my own child, I was an old hand 🙂

My grandmother recently passed away, she and I were very close. I will be thinking of her dearly on Mother’s Day this year. Not a day goes by that I don’t reflect on the amazing woman she was. I hope I am half the woman she was. I love and miss her so much.
However one becomes a mom — marriage, birth, adoption — you are still a mom. I’ve done it 2 out of 3 ways and love them all. Being a mom is the most rewarding role I’ll ever play. Thank goodness I never have to stop! (And, yes, I do still nibble my teenager’s cheeks when no one is watching.)
My Mom is also my best ~ friend. Love my Mother.
I am currently working, going to school, and trying my best to raise my four children. When I get overwhelmed, I think of my mom and grandma, superheroes in my book, and pull strength from their examples and lives. So grateful for good women to call my mothers.
My mom is going through an especially hard season this mother’s day, she is on her third round of chemo, so something heartfelt and special like this would make her day!!

I just want to give a rousing endorsement for mothers-in-law! There are lots of jokes that cast that group of women in a bad light, but nothing could be further from the truth when it comes to my mother-in-law. She has been more of a mother to me, than a mother-in-law, for more than 25 years. She’s a blessing to me and everyone who knows her. So, this Mother’s Day, I’ll be celebrating how lucky I am to have her in my life!!

My grandma has dementia and the “loss” of her has been devastating. She always appreciated nice jewelry. It would be really awesome to see if giving her a vintage piece would spark something in her in that moment.
I recently lost my dad, and I realise how important my parents are to me….I am laying double loving on my mom now, as she and I are both needing it….cherish your mother because you do not know how long you will have her in your life…no regrets!!!
I love being a mom so much that we started over two years ago by adopting a newborn! Our youngest was 7 at the time so we truly started over but it has been amazing!!

Being a Mom is one of the MOST rewarding things I have EVER ever ever done in my life. It’s hard (I’m not gonna lie) when they grow up because you want to protect them forever AND pray they make good choices and I pray every night that they are kept safe…you know driving to work, and so on. ! Thank you for this post, I LOVE Lucy’s stuff and because of you Layla I don’t think I would of ever known her and I now follow her on instagram…good GOOD stuff! Just kinda makes ya feel happy doesn’t it??!!!
My mother lives with us now after my father passed away a couple of years ago. Although it is sometimes stressful, I’m glad this opportunity presented itself as our relationship seems to have improved with the months that she has been here.
Beautiful. This will be my 24th Mother’s Day but my first as a Nana. And of course my daughter’s first Mother’s Day. I bet she would love something from Lucy’s.

I lost my Mom 8 years ago when I was only 19, so Mother’s Day is always a time of remembrance, sadness and reflection. But this year I have a 1 year old of my own and I’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day a little differently. Thankful for memories of my own Mom, but feeling blessed that God gave me a little one of my own to be Mother to.

I love vintage pieces and of course the concept of reusing something old. My mother went to a fashion school in New York and she always inspired us as kids to always dress your best. She used to crack us up with always having to have lipstick on even if it was to go outside and weed the garden, she would always say you never know who you may run into so it’s important to dress your best!
Love the creative , uniqueness of these pieces! I miss my grandma’s every day. They both passed away a while ago and were the inspirations of my life. I am a better mother and person because of the values and hardships they taught me. Life was difficult for women in their day and my grandma Elizabeth had her own business against so many odds all while being divorced because her husband decided he didn’t want to be married anymore. She took a negative and made such a positive out of her situation and worked hard. She taught me to appreciate life.

After 5 miscarriages, I went through IVF and now I have the most precious gift of all, Emma.. she’s 4 1/2 now and not a day goes by I don’t thank God for her.. she truly is a miracle! Mothers Day is very special to me.
i always wish on mother’s day that i lived closer to my mom – we are 1800 miles away from each other and it seems harder on mother’s day because i know she wants to spend time with me
