Hello! Each Wednesday I share some of the photos that stopped me in my tracks while I was scrolling Instagram the previous week. Here are this week’s picks:
Nothing to bump your knee against under that tabletop- I love it!
What a cool chunk of butcher block, huh? I couldn’t help but think how that knife holder wouldn’t fly in our house right now though. 😉 #CuriousKiddo
3. @DearLillie:
I love that white appliances are coming back into style again! 🙂
4.@RitaKonig:
One of the prettiest kitchens I’ve ever seen!
5. @OneKingsLane:
Gosh, I love it when folks can squeeze in an extra bed like that, don’t you? So sweet!
PS- I’ve been tagging these round-ups on Instagram with the hashtag #InstaWednesdayRoundUp if you’d like to see them all together over there!
“White front loaders!…when our ten year old black top loaders bite the dust” made me smile! I’ve been waiting for my 35 year old almond top loading Maytag and the Whirlpool dryer I bought along with it to fail for two decades now.
Zero maintenance issues. Changed the light bulb on the dryer once.
Happy I missed the front loader washer craze though—make sure you investigate the problem people have with the stench before you buy.
Yes….Lee is correct, you have to regularly run empty loads with cleaner, you have to leave the door standing open….they have lots of issues. They look great, but the old top loaders are the best!
YES!!!! I am babying my 26 year old white TOP loader. I will replace it with another one. I will never ever ever by a front loader! Every family member and friend who has one has one complaint or another about them, including: they dont get the clothes as clean, they smell, you have to “bungee cord” the doors open so they dont get musty (isnt that the look you are going for?) you have to periodically “wash” the inside (really wash a washer?), you have to clean around the gasket which is a haven for mold. No thank you
People talk about the smell in front loaders a lot, but I am on my 2nd set in 19 years (sold the house w/the first set) and that has never been a problem for me! I had the original Maytag Neptunes and now I have Whirlpool Duets. I love my front-loading machines! Also, I installed a PureWash system – I only wash in cold and I use no detergent (unless my firefighter husband brings home smoky clothes, then I have to add a small amount of detergent). It’s genius!
I’m so glad to hear you like the Pure Wash. Have been thinking of getting it.
Ditto on the front loader love. I’ve had mine for almost ten years. Only change I will make next time is I’ll not bother with the pedestals. I’m only 5’2″…I don’t NEED them to be up higher. I’d like a folding space on top of the lower machines instead. I will confess, I do tuck a wash cloth under the rubber gasket but I can still close the doors…and mine never smell musty. I’ve honestly never noticed the wash cloth smelling musty.
Oops. I have black FRONT loaders right now. I want TOP loaders next time. I must have been too tired when I typed up this post last night- LOL! 😀
I will happily trade my white front loaders for your 35 year old almonds!! I’ve been saying I’m going to buy some avacado green ones at an estate sale. They don’t make them like they use to could never be truer!
Oops. Like I just told Diana, I have black FRONT loaders right now. I want TOP loaders next time. That’s what I get for staying up too late- ha! 😀
Speed Queen Top Loaders!!!!
Never buy any other brand!
After going through 3 front loaders in 5 years (yes, you read that correctly) we learned our lesson. After a LOT of research, we discovered that the water saving requirements that front loaders provided were offset with severe reliability issues.
Living in CA, I understand, first hand, the need to conserve water but I also could not accept the increase in appliance costs and poor reliability (landfills are filling up with big appliances nation wide) so American made Speed Queen got my vote (and money) and I have been THRILLED ever since.
Top loaders are work horses and are easy to repair, if and when they need repairing. Win-Win!
Plus, they come in white! YAY!
Have a great day everyone.
Thanks for the tip! My washer is going out and I was wanting one that will last for 20 years or more. Looks as if Speed Queen has front loaders too. I really like front load washers.
That top photo I have already saved and shown my husband – YES that is what I am wanting! Also, I do love my front loading washer but the others are correct – the stench, have to leave the door open, and the drawer that you put the detergent in, plus “mold” around the seal!! I’m working on getting the seal replaced. Hopefully the manufacturers can work out those yuky issues and come up with a work horse front loading washer! The front load dryer – LOVE!!

I can’t say I like this white kitchen anymore than your kitchen. I also don’t care for where the knives are placed on the cabinet front. Our 2 sons are now grown. Now that you are wishing your washer & dryer would poop-out, it will last forever. Lol
I love that floor in the laundry room! (And, of course, the white front loaders…)
🙂
Oh my …. love all of these! And that laundry room ♡. But stick with your top loaders! They really do a much better job. How can I send a picture to you for photoshop????
I don’t know why I said we had top loaders. We have FRONT loaders right now! 😀 Apparently I was sleepier than I thought last night.
You can send me photos at LaylaPalmer (at) AOL (dot) com! 🙂
Thank you!
I have had a front loader washer and dryer for about 10 years. No problem with the dryer but the washer always has a stench even after I run through the cleaning cycle. I would not get one again. My daughter has a washer that looks like a front loader turned upwards. In other words, the top looks and operates like a front loader. It is beautiful and would be my choice now. Good luck!
I just have to tell you that your “5 Photos That Stopped Me In My Scroll” posts are one of the highlights of my week! Thank you for taking the time to post them. I’m inspired every time!
