Welcome to our “This Little Word Of Mine” link party!
If you’d like to link up your word of the year blog post, just look for the little blue “Add Link” button at the bottom of this post. Many of you probably already know the drill, but just in case you’ve never linked up a blog post before, here’s how it works:
Scroll down until you see the little, blue “Add Your Link” button. Click that, and follow the instructions on the page you’re redirected to. The instructions involve uploading a thumbnail image and creating a title for the image you’re using. You may want to title it with the name of your blog, or with the title of your Word of the Year post, but it’s totally up to you. (Note: Make sure to link to your Word of the Year post- not to the main page of your blog.)
Last but not least, I created a nifty little badge especially for this party, and we’d love it if you’d post the code in the box below at the bottom of the post you’re linking up…
<div align="center"><a href="https://theletteredcottage.net/word-of-the-year-link-party-2012" title="The Lettered Cottage"><img src="http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj29/LaylaPalmer/Linky%20Buttons/This_Little_Word_Of_Mine_2012.jpg" alt="The Lettered Cottage" style="border:none;" /></a></div>
Thanks so much for partyin’ with us, and hope you’re having an AMAZING 2012 so far!

Layla, sorry but my word art (#25) didn’t crop they way I directed it to! The word “impossibility” should have been visible in the thumbnail …

Richella @ Imparting Grace
Thank you, Layla! I chose a word and I’m excited to link my post–but the past few days of thinking about it have been really important for me. My word is “willing”–and I’m being called to be willing in ways that I’ve never even thought about or dreamed about before. It’s very exciting and scary all at once–but then I guess most good things are!
Thank you for letting your light–and your word–shine. 🙂

Thanks for hosting Layla! I really enjoyed reflecting on what my word means to me. I even wrote a little series on it. I can’t wait to check out Ali’s workshop, sounds completly perfect for me as I try to {Grow} my photography skills in 2012.

Hey, sweet friend! Thanks for encouraging me to choose a word. I did and I’m clinging to it this year. I’m so grateful to be one year down the hope-filled road I’m walking now. Love blogging with you! xoxo

I can’t wait to make my word of the year (whimsy) come true for myself! Playful, fun, happy – definitely things I need this year!
I am hoping someone can help me – I’m a new blogger and can’t figure out how to get Layla’s badge into my blog post on blogger?! Many thanks for any help!
Layla
Hi Samantha! Thanks so much for playing along!
To add the badge, just highlight and copy the code in the box below it, and paste it at the bottom of your Word of the Year post. (In the HTML)
Let me know if you need any more help, and I’ll be glad to walk you through it! 😀

Thank you so much for letting me join in…my word is TRUTH…and I’m keeping a journal of “truths” and scripture verses as I come across either the word…or other “truths” HE shows me!!! HOPE you have a great week full of lots of sweet blessings!!!

This should be a fun party and encouraging to read everyone’s WORD.
Great idea.
Melissa
Funny the first word in the “list” is abide. This is my word, it has popped up more than a few times these past few weeks for one reason or another and I thank you for confirming that it is mine this year.
Laura Ingalls Gunn
This year I am a DRUM MAJOR. It is my great hope that this will be a dream/goal for everyone.
Be blessed.

Thanks for hosting this fabulous party! After reading about your word a few days ago, I fell in love with this idea and I look forward to incorporating my own word – “spark” – into my life this year. Thank you for sparking such wonderful inspiration!
Taryn @ Design, Dining + Diapers
Thank you for hosting such an inspirational party! I love this because it got me out of my comfort zone and stretched me as a blogger. Thank you!
Dawn
Thanks so much for this wonderful idea, Layla. I decided on NEW, and I really want to do NEW things with my life this year. Having a word of the year helps committing to the goals and go through with the changes (or so I hope….).
I don’t have a blog but I still wanted to say thank you for this inspiration.
Bev
Layla,
I don’t have a blog , can I still put my word of the year ?
Paulina J!
Bev, in a previous post Layla mentioned that you can leve your word in the comments if you don’t have a blog. I don’t have one either. Can’t wait to see your word 🙂
Bev
Thanks !
Jeanette
Thank you for bringing word of the year to mind. My word is “do” and I’m looking forward to adding “do” into the scrap booking I’m now learning as one of m first “dos”.
Lori
I don’t have a website and I’m usually just a lurker in blogland…so my word for the year is going to be PARTICIPATE! I feel like I need to do this in so many areas of my life. Thanks for the idea and inspiration Layla!!
Samantha
Thanks for hosting the party- such a fun theme. I am loving everyone’s posts!

Thank you for hosting this party. It’s nice, seeing all the words chosen.
This is the first year I’ve chosen a word for the year. I hope I can stay Focused…..
nicolette @ momnivore's dilemma
I’m a word for the year rookie.
This reminds me of setting an intention before yoga practice.
Thanks for hosting. This will be a yearly ritual for me.

My word is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious – has been defined as follows: super- “above”, cali- “beauty”, fragilistic- “delicate”, expiali- “to atone”, and docious- “educable”, with the sum of these parts signifying roughly “Atoning for educability through delicate beauty.” Plus I really like the sound of it.
Bella Michelle @ Southern Somedays
Thanks for a great Linky Party. I hadn’t really made any goals or resolutions for the this year and this post got me motivated to really simplify what I want to see come out of 2012!!!
carmel
This is my first time ever picking a word for the year and I have to say I can’t believe I’ve never done this before! This was so inspiring – thank you! I love the idea of checking in with your word every month.
Cheryl
Hey Layla,
I am not a blogger, so I don’t have a link, but I just want to say that I chose a word, actually 2 words for 2012. They are “step back”. I need to step back and take a bigger look at my life and those that are important to me as well as where I would like to be in 2013. This word thing is really better than making a bunch of unkept resolutions. Thanks for hosting this and really making me THINK.
Hillcrest Cottage
This is awesome! I had already chosen a theme and word, so I am glad to find those of like-mindedness. I will look forward to posting about my progress as I watch this word and theme weave its way into my 2012 year… very exciting!
ColleenwithMurals&More
Ah, Layla! Your parties are simply the best! Not just for the great traffic 😉 😉 but you also inspire us to think, contemplate and MOVE! Thanks so much!
btw – don’t know if you’d be interested, but I started writing about my infertility issues. Now that it’s been 30+ years, I can almost write w/o being overly emotional. Almost 🙂 http://muralmaker1.blogspot.com/2012/01/upcoming-events-and-story.html
Thanks again!
Leslie Hoyt
Thank you, Layla!
This party encouraged me solidify my word.
It also encourages me to be in the company of such fine ladies that also, through words, want to make a difference in the world!
HUGS and blessings to you and Kevin as you make your home!
~Leslie
Paulina J!
I don’t have a blog, but my word is SHARE! I’ll try to share more of me with my husband, family and friends. I want to open my home home and share it with those I love. I was always too self-conscious and worried about hosting and that things were not perfect, but all thiss will change in 2012 🙂
Bev
Hi Layla , my word is Hope !
Linda @ A La Carte
This is my 3rd year doing one little word and it has really been a blessing to me for my blog and my life! Love reading this story again of how it started.
SheilaG

Rebekah
Love the party! Thx for prompting this awesome inspiration = )
Jen
Great party – I am so very inspired! And, so completely thrilled to see Ali here. I used to “follow” her in the scrapbook magazines years ago – at least her articles were my fav! Feels like coming home. 🙂
btw… the linky button would not fit on my blog page at all, and I could not get it to re-size well enough in html, so I added a direct link to your party 2x within my post. Sorry!
Joy P
Thanks for hosting. I had to write the post and put my promises to myself on my blog. Thanks for the push.
Lisa W.
OH MY you cannot know how much you JUST made my day. I LOVE Ali…I follow her EVERY single day. My day is not complete without it!!! My girlfriends ALL tease me that I think I know her…you know “My friend Ali”. So loving The Lettered Cottage as well and seeing this post today. along with ALI was just wonderful!!! She is one of the most talented, inspiring artist out there I know. It is so great that a decorator blog and scrapbooking blog come together for “One little word” really tugs at my heart strings………ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh…decor and scrapbooking my two greatest loves. Thanks Layla and of course Ali!!!
Barbara Medeiros
I have to say, I think my word would be Joy. This past year it seems many people tried & to some degree succeeded in taking away my Joy. I am determined to take my Joy back! I have always been known for my smile and I think I have developed frown lines this year. 2012 is going to be my year for JOY! <3
Linda @ Home is Where My Heart is
It was fun thinking of a word. Thanks Layla for making me think. I hope I live up to my word ~ HELP! Happy New Year! ~Linda

Thanks for doing this link party. It’s great to be pushed to actually write down a thoughtful conviction, seems to make it stick in my brain a little better. Little Bit from DecorateWithaLittleBit.com
