Hello! Each Wednesday I share some of the photos that stopped me in my tracks while I was scrolling Instagram the previous week. This week, I captioned each photo with three words that immediately sprang to mind when I looked at them, and in doing so, I realized that I truly love so many different design styles! How about you? Which combination(s) of “design words” speaks the most to you? All of them? Only one of them?
1. @ChangoAndCo:
Fun, colorful and sweet…
Clean, crumbly and collected…
Rustic, refined and romantic…
Bright, farmhouse and fresh…
Traditional, crisp and quiet…
Coastal, classic and cottage-y:
Eclectic, European and charming…
Although the wall tile isn’t my personal taste on that last one, I love, love, LOVE the flooring, windows, furniture, door and energy of that room. The caption said it’s a “boot room” that was designed by @McAlpineHouse. Boy would my boots love to live in there! 😉
PS- I’ve been tagging these round-ups on Instagram with the hashtag #InstaWednesdayRoundUp if you’d like to see them all together over there!
This is interesting, both the words and the photos.
Mine would be classic, comfortable, eclectic. Might sound contradictory, but it works.
ALL of them made my heart sing! Ditto on the last one… ohhh how I could see grey subway or green glass tile in that room! ANNND my boots would love to live their too👯💟☮
Thank you for starting my Wednesday off on a great note!!!
Layla’s got great style 🤓😉👯🙅
Lisa
I can see your style in each of those photos! I call mine Earthy, Tribal, Farmhouse (with some vintage, boho, mountain lodge thrown in!) haha ~Kim
Layla, your Wednesday photos are always so fun to visit. I look forward to them and your comments…the three word descriptions were perfect. Think I fall under ‘Clean, crumbly and collected’. Old loved treasures, without a lot of fuss, and a subtle background so they pop. Oftentimes, less really is more. Thank you for doing the legwork for our enjoyment. Blessings!!
Bright farmhouse and fresh laundry room – YES!! I love your captions on these photos!
I really like the addition of the 3 words! Great job, Layla. I love the clean and collected one and the rustic and romantic one. That’s what I want my house to look like!! Thanks!
I’ve always thought of your style as being Crisp, Fun, and Happy. Even when you were on the HGTV contest. Hope you and your family have a wonderful day…Hi Sweetpea! I still like calling him that. 😉
Layla, I’m wondering if you ever finished the top of your mirror assemblage, to resemble the sample from Pottery Barn? The column where you showed putting the three door mirrors together? Waiting to see the finished product…
Hi Joy!
Yes! I blogged about it a couple days ago. I used a half windmill and you can find it on the home page of my blog if you’d like to check it out! 🙂
It is so hard to love one type of home decor, given that there are so many different and stunning styles. If I had to choose some words that spoke to my design style it would be; scandanavian, hygge, modern
Me too! Like all of them !
Bright – cheery – comfortable
I love having some color and not just flat white. I have turquoise in my dining area and it is so lovely and cheery!
I think about this all the time – I’m awful at describing “my style” because so many different styles appeal to me! If I HAD to pick three, I’d go with bright, clean, and comfortable.
I’m with you on #7! I like elements of all of them, except #5 (well, the rug is nice). Thanks for all the eye candy.
Love the different styles represented here! Some are to my taste and others not so much, but all still interesting. My design words are definitely Vintage, Colorful, and Low-Maintenance (the first two reflect my own passions and the third is a necessity in a home with a messy husband, a cat and a dog, and frequent visits from active grandchildren – ha!)
