“You never know what’s around the corner. You just keep putting one foot in front of the other, and then one day you look back and you’ve climbed a mountain.”
―Tom Hiddleston

This adoption adventure has been very mysterious. Never knowing what’s around the corner…always Trusting that we should just keep moving our feet.
But this Saturday, we’re going to look back from the top of this mountain…

…and we’ll be up there looking with our son.

Less than 48 hours from now, y’all!!!
This is a two-week socialization visit, and although we won’t be able to bring him home at the end of this trip, we are SO excited to be able to spend this time bonding with him. Our hearts are overflowing with excitement and gratitude, and our minds are absolutely racing.
Prayers appreciated for our baby’s precious little heart. I can’t wait to tell you all about him when I have downtime during nap time!

PS- I plan to blog a few times a week while we’re there, and I created the hashtag #SweetPmakes3 on Instagram if you’d like to follow along between blog posts! XO

My husband and 18 year-old daughter just got back from Haiti where they did dental work. They LOVED Haiti! They were in the village Gressier. My daughter said, “I’ve never felt so instantly loved by a country as I felt loved by the Haitians.” Haiti captured their hearts! Good luck on your journey!
Wonderful news Layla! Blessing to you all and thanks for taking me along on your journey. My heart is so happy for you!
Happy, happy tears being shed. Have been waiting for that headline to show up on your blog.
That sweet pea is super-duper blessed with the two of you and I can only imagine HIS excitement awaiting your arrival on Saturday.
Praying travel mercies for you (although you could probably fly there on your own right now on wings of love) and hope you have been doing your arm exercises so that hold and hug tightly these next 2 weeks.
I am SO happy for you all.
Blessings to you!!! Have a wonderful trip.

When you hold him, this whole journey will suddenly make sense. I have adopted two and the whole thing became crystal clear the moment they were mine. Such an amazing moment! God is so good, and you are SO blessed!!
YAY! I am so happy and excited for you! I will be praying for your safe travels and bonding time with your boy – can’t wait to hear about it!
So over joyed to hear that you are finally going to be a family of 3! Many blessings on your travels and new adventures!
So wonderful. Cant wait to on see the 3 if you together.
So so very happy for you 😀 😀
I’m so excited for you it must be so hard waiting to be together….does that make it the “23rd”…..was this the date your grandmother told you in your dream…..(if I remember that correctly). Such a big deal I wish these processes didn’t take so long for these beautiful children to come home to families who will love them. All the best I’m sure it’s hard to contain your excitement. I’m a mother to an 11 year old and 9 year old (next week) and I was able to get pregnant without any medical issues so my heart goes out to others who have longer times to wait to become parents. I wish my kids had a Mum who could decorate like you do though and the bedroom is adorable. Take care and give him lots of cuddles….Regards Kathy A, Brisbane
What wonderful news! What a wonderful visit you will have as you and Sweet pea begin your adventure together! Congratulations and enjoy every minute of your two week trip!
Your post made me smile and brought joy to the start of my day!
So freakin happy for you girl. I know youve been waiting for this for forever. You deserve it. Savor it and soak it up. What a thing to look back on one day. Best to the three of you
So very happy for you Layla 🙂 🙂 Thinking of you!! This is such an important and exciting time in your life! I know you will enjoy EVERY minute of it 🙂
My husband is also leaving for Haiti next Saturday and will be coming home on March 7th. He will be staying at the Karibe hotel one night, and then will be going to Riviere Froide to train the teachers at the Sgr. Mark Gallagher school.
If ever you spot a smiling, dark tall & handsome man at the airport, it’s him 🙂 lol
I am crying – and you don’t even know me! I’ve followed your story forever and I’m so happy for all of you. There are no words for how happy I am – this is everything that is good about the interweb and the way it connects people. I will smile all day because two people I don’t know are going to a country where I’ve never been to see a baby I will never meet. Crazy, happy, good stuff!! xxx
How wonderful!! Praying for you all as you meet!!!
So happy for you two! Blessings on you all!
