Water for Christmas

Dec 22, 2011 By Layla

Two days ago we were $3,545 away from digging a well for 500 families that currently don’t have access to fresh water…

…but in the past 48 hours dozens of friendly folks donated enough dollars to push this effort 3% over the goal…

Thank you doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Clean water is something we take for granted, every day, but it’s something so many people around the world don’t have access to at all.

Thank you for joining this amazing cause, and thanks again to Shannan for setting it up!

Here’s to changing the lives of many, many more less fortunate folks…

Yay!!! A well will be built! What a wonderful thing clean water is. . I don’t think that many in the world can even imagine running water in their homes, let alone hot water and a flushing toilet. We are so blessed and in turn we need to share those blessings that God has given to us.

Our family quit giving gifts to each other for Christmas several years ago, giving instead to others where there is need (in honor of one another). I love seeing all of these efforts to reach out to those in need all around blogland!! Together we can make a difference. I feel privileged to have a small part in providing clean water to those who don’t have it…in memory of my mother-in-law who we’ll be missing this year.

Me: “Hey Luke, they did it! They raised over $10,000!”
Luke: (with eyes wide open) “Already?! They did? Did my money help?”
    Me: “Absolutely!”

Also, after we discussed the video more yesterday, Luke was so concerned on how they care for babies there. So we will be looking into more information on how we can help with those types of needs.
