We got home around 2:30 on Friday, and after a quick scan of the rooms on the first floor, Steevenson wanted to see his chanm (room). The three of us entered with our arms around each other, and he was so excited to discover a small bin full of wrapped presents in the corner. “Oh! Pou Steevenson?“, he excitedly asked. “Wi! Pou Steevenson!“, we answered.
One of the gifts had a bag of balloons in it, and he promptly decided that we (Daddy) should blow all of them up. 😉
I snapped those photos the next morning, after he had picked out his first outfit. He gets very excited about having his very own rad (clothes) and is super passionate about picking out every single piece- undies, soulye (shoes) and chapo (hat) included!
He also love, love, looooooves Bob the Builder. Or “Bob de Bil-dare“, as he calls him. 🙂
And let’s not forget “Madam Wendy” and “Mesye Leo“…or his favorite tool-he-doesn’t-have-yet: a voltmeter. If you heard him say it in his little French/Kreyol accent you would likely want one too. 😉
I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to see this precious little boy finally at home with you. I thought I couldn’t stand the wait any longer MYSELF, so I haven’t been able to comprehend how YOU have been so patient. But man, what a blessing and miracle! I am so, so happy and exited for you. So adorable! Balloons are always a hit with kids. I’ve found that it doesn’t matter how expensive or elaborate a toy, the ones they like best are the simplest – boxes, crayons and IMO, Matchbox cars!
My youngest boy grandson was a lover of Bob too, then Paw Patrol. Now, at 6 yrs., it’s Star Wars. But that may be influenced by his big brother and dad.
It’s sooo good to see him in his room, finally, and enjoying himself with you both. Can’t wait to hear how he likes the construction around there!
Of course he is dressed like the coolest kid in town! He is precious and I’m so thrilled for all of you! Be blessed, enjoy, know love and peace!

I’m so happy for y’all! A living room covered in toys can be frustrating but it also means a child is filling that space with love and excitement! I hope you enjoy ever second of these first days together!!! It’s so exciting to see a child experiencing having their own space and things for the first time. YAY Steevenson!
His room was ready… The books stood at attention. The toys held their breath with anticipation. And then…LIFE burst through the door and all was well with the world.

Are you guys still pinching yourselves?! So, I have to tell you that the picture with Steevenson in his bob the builder toolbelt and hat gave me goosebumps! My first thought was – of course he likes Bob the builder! He’s dad (kevin) is one! How many walls and projects and ceilings and so on and so on, has Kevin done? I got tears knowing that God is SO gracious and when we see His divine plan play out, it really is humbling. Congrats to you guys and I can’t wait for the pics of daddy and son “building” something.

These pictures just make my heart swell. He is such a cutie and so full of joy for every little thing. His gratitude for the smallest of things like a balloon that many children wouldn’t necessarily be enthralled with make him grin like it’s the best thing in the world. I hope he never loses that appreciation for things big and small. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have something in my eye.
