Many of you have asked about the children at orphanage Steevenson used to live at, so I wanted to post this message from the folks at Three Angels today:
First, know that our Three Angels family is okay! Their staff and volunteers are accounted for, and the children at the orphanage are all doing well. Alix Charles, our school’s headmaster, is going out today to check on some of our students and their families who may not have fared as well. The incredibly heavy rains most likely led to the ruin of many homes and livelihoods in our area.
Three Angels remains open. Even though we are a little rattled and soggy, we will be seeing patients at the clinic, and it will remain “business as usual” as we care for the kids in the orphanage. Haiti has cancelled classes for the time being, but the Three Angels school will remain open during the day so that we can continue to feed our students. It is often the only meal they get each day.
THANK YOU so very much for your support and prayers over the past few days. We are actively assessing the situation in and around Three Angels and will provide more updates as we can. It is incredibly assuring to know our partners are with us. Your Facebook and Instagram messages are always read and appreciated! Many of you have asked what you can do to help.
▪ Please continue to pray. Often after a disaster, the needs can change on a dime. Pray that we are watchful and wise in our decisions and can provide the best possible care to those in our neighborhood. Join us in giving thanks to God in his mercy and provision.
▪ Sponsor a student or a child at the orphanage. Sponsorships are one of the reasons we are able to be here in a time of need for these kids. Your monthly gift allows us to make real investments and provide a solid foundation so that when trouble comes, we can be there.
▪ Donate today. Your gift, in any amount, will help provide for needed repairs and sustained care for those in our neighborhood. Here is a link to our Donate page:
Our work continues thanks to people like you who support our family and the ministry of Three Angels here in Haiti. Thank you for standing with us in prayer through this hurricane!

And on behalf of our little family of three, I want to thank everyone who messaged me about Steevenson’s friends at the orphanage. I know he misses them so much, and it was so sweet of you to think of and pray for them. There were some pretty anxious mamas and papas-in-waiting around the U.S., and I know they appreciated your prayers so much too!
This morning this was first on my mind. Thank you for the update. We will be praying for the families and children and Three Angels especially.
We have been thinking as praying for you all throughout this hurricane. Thank you for the update.
Thank you for keeping us up-dated, and God bless your little family.
I am so thankful you posted this. I have prayed, worried, and prayed some more for the safety of the people of Haiti. And I have thought how thankful you and Kevin must be to have Steevenson safely home! 🙂
Thank you for the update – continued prayers for Haiti and Three Angels staff and children.
We’ve been praying hard for the people of Haiti but specifically for Three Angels. I’m so happy to hear that they are all well. 🙂
Happy to hear they are doing well.
Thank you so much for the update Layla..because of your son and the time spent at this orphanage, we have all come to care for these and all of Haiti..was praying before and will continue, as well as see about helping financially.
May God continue to watch over them..
Layla, thank you for the update that the children and staff are safe. I pray for the families that they will receive the help they need during this time.
Now that I am retired, I would like to learn more about Three Angels. I have read their website, but would like to know more about volunteer opportunities. How can I go about getting information? Thank you
Thank you for letting us know that all of Steevenson’s Haiti family is safe. Our prayers for them will continue, and we are so thankful he is safely home with his Mama and Papa. May God bless all the people of Haiti at this challenging time.
Oh, praise God! Stevenson’s three angels family and you as a mom have been on my heart for days. I’ve talked with several people about you and how I can’t imagine how it must feel for you all. It’s an amazing world we live in that people we’ve never met can be so present in our hearts.
Thank you for the update. I’ll continue to pray for the orphanage and Haiti. I hope you and Steevenson have a happy day!
Layla, your family was the first thing that I thought of when I heard Haiti was going to be hit. I am so glad things at Three Angels are not too bad. Prayers have been answered. Blessings to all.
So thankful to hear they are all okay! My heart has been so heavy for Haiti in recent days. I’ve also been very mindful of those parents whose children have yet to come home. In Sept. 1998, on the very day our 6 month old daughter was to be escorted home to us, Hurricane Georges (also a category 4 storm) hit Haiti. It was the most incredibly helpless feeling.
So thankful Steevenson is safely home. We continue to pray for Haiti.
So glad you posted this! They have been on my heart and in my prayers ever since the weather reports came out. So thankful they are ok. Blessings to your little family…❤️
Thank you for the update. Haiti continues iin my prayers.
Amazing how your story has connected us across the ocean to Haiti. Because of Steevenson, there is an abundance more support for Three Angels. Thank you for the update.
Glad to hear that Three Angels is okay. Praying for the safety of the people of Haiti.
I had been checking their Facebook page to see how they fared thru the storm. Glad all is well with them, but I’m sure not all were spared. Seems they just can’t get a break there, and the rebuilding is so slow. No one should ever complain about recovery from catastrophes here, compared to other places! I continue to pray for all in the path of this monster storm. If I ever get rich, I would give to as many as I could.
Praying for the children and staff and all of Haiti.
I’m so glad to hear this update! My family and I signed up to sponsor little Suzana tonight and I hadn’t even heard about the hurricane being in Haiti (I knew it was hitting Florida)! I signed on and saw the news and my heart sank. I’m just glad to hear that the children and caretakers are okay. We’ll be praying for the rest of Haiti!
I visited 3 angels childrens relief in June. I’ve been praying and am soo thankful they are all well.
Please support Eric and others as they attempt to provide life saving assistance to those still to be reached.
