So, remember that kitchen I told you we were redesigning? Well, we’ve been documenting the whole makeover on video too, and I can’t wait to share it with you online soon! Long story short- a couple of months ago, I got an email from the folks at The Design Network and after a few fun emails, and one very inspiring conference call- I decided to give it a whirl!

I signed on to produce five episodes between now and the end of January. My first episode (the kitchen makeover) will be uploaded to TheDesignNetwork.com on October 1st, and man was it a blast to put together! Partly because re-doing rooms is one of my favorite things to do, and partly because I got to work with the sweetest gang around. My incredible hubby and our super-talented friend, Billy, tackled all the filming, lighting, graphic design and video editing duties, and Billy’s wife, Suzanne, helped me clean & organize the kitchen. (They’re the same Billy & Suzanne from this post– which makes this partnership extra fun!) Brian the Carpenter knocked all the carpentry projects out of the park, and to make matters even more memorable, the kitchen we worked on belongs to our mutual friends, Tommy & Shelley. They received  some unfortunate real estate-related news right before we started the makeover, but they decided to turn lemons into lemonade, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to fix up their kitchen with them over the past few weeks!

The Design Network

The Design Network is an innovative broadband network all about home décor and interior design, so you don’t have to have a TV to watch their shows. Any device that’s connected to the internet will do! Their goal is to entertain, inspire, and instruct viewers all around the world, and I am super excited to be a part of their 2013 Fall line-up. They’ll be announcing all their other new series in the next week or two, and I can’t wait to see what  all the other new hosts have been working on, too!

    This is what ran through my mind thinking of so many things coming together in this way for you all. And to trust and praise God no matter the outcome! The visual I get is God having this heaping arms full pile of opportunities and blessings, setting them down in your home and saying, “Here ya go. What can you do with this?” 🙂 Blessings on remaining faithful to Him! (don’t think I’m in any way talking health and wealth gospel!!) Just that it is always amazing to see what God does. With some the trials continue, some they change, some they are lifted, but always He is GOOD!! 🙂 What an opportunity to continue to witness to folks through your struggles and victories. Congrats!!

    Cool! I’ve been missing the design shows on HGTV. It seems since the DIY network started up, HGTV is more about real estate (lots of House Hunters marathons…), and I miss all the DIY shows (but we don’t get the DIY network). Anyway.. But something they don’t know, and I hope everyone reads this, is that when I emailed you guys about not being able to finish class I bought, (still haven’t) you guys renewed immediately for me without a thought or a dime asked for.     Ok, I am super excited! When I saw this yesterday on Instagram I thought, ” well that’s cool… too bad I won’t be able to watch it because I don’t have cable.” But I will! This is awesome! I didn’t even know there was a Design Network. Congratulations on getting the opportunity to produce five shows. You will have to share what that whole process is like.
