I read that as floss, the urban dictionary way:
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=floss
And then I realized the quote owner, funny funny funny.
I don’t really have a resolution per se but I need to master my TIME!!!!!! Making time for the things (photography, lettering, crafting) and people I love. That is all. Happy New Year!

We set ourselves up for failure when we make resolutions. Love Carol’s word for the year — intentional. Makes us stop and think before we speak or act.
Layla
Says who? It’s all about being intentional. 😉 Seriously though, we’re all different, so I’m sure resolutions work differently for everyone too. XO
Off to floss…

I completely agree with you Layla! The whole idea of resolutions has gotten so unrealistic, because for some reason we think we have to suddenly be perfect at something or we fail. If my resolution was to stop smoking and I did great the first few days but then had a moment of weakness on Jan 4, does that mean I failed and get to smoke as much as I want the rest of the year and try again next January? Of course not! I start again the next day. Resolutions are not about perfection, they’re about progress.
Layla
Yep. If remembering to floss is my resolution this year, I’ll definitely floss more than I did last year, and that feels like success to me. 🙂

My goal is to have better time management!
After being a stay at home mom for most of the time, then working 45-50 hours per week the past 4 years, I’m back at home watching my baby granddaughter part time, and I’m struggling to keep a good schedule, getting all of the projects & cleaning & blogging done as I plan on. (I’m a newbie blogger who does not know what she’s doing yet, lol)

I saw a Ted Talks by Celeste Headlee this last week about having intentional conversations (here’s the link https://www.facebook.com/TED/videos/10159622445610652/?hc_ref=ARQ9WuttA7kPhlYGRiG9ShiSZWrRCISrDj35LllSHsZrDgJS1aMhGmhdlMRv-ZyFk5I&pnref=story ) and I’ve decided this is what I want to focus on this year. I have two very social jobs, I’m a pastor and I also work in public education. And with both of those jobs listening is vital if I’m going to be effective. God has called us all in many different ways, but in every roll He has called us our goal should always be to be effective. He also designed each and everyone of us to need relationship (with Him and with others), I think having intentional, meaningful conversations is something that is needed for relationships to flourish.

A friend sent this link to me from Dayspring on the Word of the Year. My word that developed from answering the 7 questions — Brave.

My goals are to spend half an hour each weekday organizing; to leave the money I deposit into my savings account alone and to lose 5 pounds each month.

I am trying to be productive every day. This sounds kind of lame, I know, but I have been retired for some years and I feel that I’ve gotten lazy! This year I am going to try to change that.
Gloria
I call them goals, meaning they are something to strive for whether I perfect them or not. Any progress toward the goal is progress. This year I want to stick to my monthly budget utilizing YNAB, do a detoxing/purifying exercise at least weekly (rebounding, dry brushing, oil pulling…), meal plan on Sundays, and eat more veggies by drinking smoothies and having meat free meals.

Husband and I do a word or phrase to kick off the new year and this year it is “less talk, more action!” We have plenty of things we want to accomplish and we have decided to stop talking about them and take action. This ranges from being more creative and working on creative projects, to taking some road trips, to spending time with friends and family. 🙂

My Word of the Year is “courageous” because I want to be more confident and more full of courage as 2018 goes on… whether it’s courage to get up and talk in front of my peers, travel somewhere new, or courage to get through a difficult circumstance.
Happy New Year, all!
Sharon
Joy in the moment. Not worrying as much about tomorrow. This may seem easy to some but I’m in the middle of parenting teenagers! So, trusting God that He holds their future and loves them more than I do and choosing joy!

1. Read (mostly) books by non-white authors.
2. Learn how to fold a fitted sheet

I’ve made the bed two or three times this week (after not making it at all in the past 6 months), so I think my resolution is going to be to make the bed more! 🙂

One Word…Nest- as a noun: a home that is a snug retreat or place of safety. as a verb: things that fit together within one another. I’ll be working on creating a cozy, comfortable home that is a place to retreat from the world, as well as a safe place for family/friends to retreat to when in need of rest and restoration. I’ll be developing deeper ways of resting and fitting into the Lord and His ways and His plans as well as developing more oneness and closeness in the new marriage season of Empty Nesters my husband and I have entered.
