Kit-Cat

Nov 5, 2011 By Layla

Hi.

I’m Maximus Palmer, and my Mom thought it would be nice if I blogged about my new little brother, Kit-Cat, today.

Yep. Apparently the kid is stickin’ around for good.

I’m not really sure why they wanted me to announce the news though, because…well…the dude sort of weirds me out. I mean, he’s craaaaazy hyper, and according to Mom, his claws are MAD sharp. What’s up with that!? He’s always purring and trying to rub up against me, and he acts like he wants to play with me too, but that is soooo not happening. No way, José. Not with those prickly little paws.

And get this- now that his leg is almost all better, he’s starting to act like he owns the place. Yeah…I know- total weirdo, right? He even took over my spot on the back of the couch for, like, two hours yesterday. The kids got no manners, I tell ya.

And to top it off, he’s even started playing with one of MY toys, too.

Mom says she doesn’t know why I care, because I “haven’t played with it one time” since they bought it for me. But still. It’s mine, and he doesn’t even know how to play with it right anyway. You’re supposed to have someone throw it for you so that you can go fetch it. Kit-Cat just attacks it…

…and lets it attack him.

And stares at it…

And stares with it…

And sometimes, he gets this REAL crazy look in his eyes, and just goes off on it…

Just watching him play exhausts me.

I mean, doesn’t he know that taking naps is where it’s at? Oh well.

His loss.

PS- Max’s Mom here… 🙂 Just wanted to add that since Max hasn’t been chasing Kit-Cat, and because we’ve got a great/pet-loving house-sitter that will take care of both of our pets when we’re gone, everything is working out just fine.

And a big thanks to everyone who emailed us about adopting him if things hadn’t gone quite as smoothly here with Max. We truly appreciate your kindness and generosity, and we’ll definitely keep you posted on how he’s doing!

Thrilled to hear Kit-Cat has found his forever home. I know Max will end up loving him. Kitties have a way of making you love them before you are even aware of it. That’s my story and I am sticking to it, especially when asked why we have 2 dogs and 3 cats!!!

i really was hoping you would keep him. You needed a little fur baby of the kittah kind too. I bet max and the new furry one will end up being, oh let’s say accommodating towards each other. That’s not too much to ask for. Happy new kitty-kat parenting (and max parenting too). I am so happy for Kit-Cat.

Yah! such great news! We too, took in an injured kitten (yucky story, won’t go into details except to say Gangrene of entire hind leg, and starving). That was 3 years ago. There was just no way that our ‘foster’ kitty was ever going to leave after nursing her back to health (leg was saved, which utterly amazed me, and all she has to show for it is one tiny scar!). Bella, as my daughter named her, is our little soul mate kitty. I’m convinced they find us. My diva Lhasa Apso, also a cruelty case/foster turned adoption I daresay actually now quite enjoys her!

Soooooooo Happy you are keeping Kit Kat ! It is so difficult to find a proper home for a creature you have nursed back to health. Hah ! I have 3 cats that started as kittens I had to bottle feed, a mini horse, a one eyed full grown horse, a one eyed toothless pug dog and 2 goats. Not to mention the feral cats that depend on me to fill their dish with food daily and chit chat with them while I feed and tend to the other critters on this Funny Farm of ours ! It is all love, peace and harrmony and I wouldn’t have it any other way ! Enjoy your new family member !

Layla – what a cute post! My cat’s names is Maximus. Maximus Cat, if you please. And Kit-cat is adorable. I wondered how long it would take before he wormed his way into your hearts and home. Not long, as it turned out! Congrats on the new fur-baby!

    Max,
Della in for a test weekend 5 years ago. She’s been here ever since. And… Suzzie joined us a few months ago because Momma didn’t want her to go to the pound. Thank dog! She snores louder than me & the stinky farts aren’t blamed on me anymore.

Kit Cat could come and live with Jack and Sally (named after the Nightmare before Christmas characters). Kit Cat has almost all the same markings as Jack and Sally. We can only tell them apart by their faces, Jack has a white stripe between his eyes, Sally doesn’t, but she makes up for it by being the talkative one. We love our kitties, who are brother and sister and fight like all brothers and sisters do. Oh wait they just insisted they were playing.

So glad to hear Kit-Cat is staying with you! He’s a lucky kitty that you were in the right place at the right time, I saw a kitty on the road last week that was not so lucky, and it just makes me so sad that we can’t always protect them.
