Happy Friday!
We did an event called “The Outsiders” over in The Lettered Cottage Community this month and I thought it would be fun to share what a few of our talented members have been up to here today. It was a fun way to hold each other accountable as we finished up some projects we had all been putting off!
I’ll start with a photo of our front porch. If you missed my blog post about it, you can find it here: Spring Front Porch Decorating
It was such a fun space to spruce up and we spend SO much more time out there now! 😀
The first friend I want to share is Jennifer. She did such a great job around her front door!
So crisp! And what a fun spin on a traditional wreath! You can find her on Instagram here: @jennifer.sublett
Next up is Laura’s dry river bed:
She and her husband used a traditional weed fabric down the center of the river bed and also created a trench with rubber drain tile to carry water away from their house around . She said they’ve had a dry basement ever since- woo hoo! Laura doesn’t have a public blog or Instagram account (yet!) but if you have any questions for her, feel free to leave her a comment below. 🙂
Next up is Stacy’s gorgeous fire pit area:
Her Instagram caption on that photo read, “After a few days of working in both the sweltering heat and the rain, several gazillion trips back and forth to the driveway with a tiny wheelbarrow, and a couple of near-divorces 😂 we were able to check FIRE PIT off our to-do list! Can’t wait for our first fire this weekend!”

Next up is Ashley’s pretty porch:
Ahhhhh. Such a soothing space! Her Instagram is @thehoustonhouse and here’s a link to her pretty blog too: Houston House Design
Next up are Kym’s colorful front steps:
I am absolutely smitten with the look of those flower-filled pots on every single step! You can find Kim online at KymHretz.com/a>
Next is Angie’s fun, red, white and blue porch spruce-up:
She said she got the rug at Old Time Pottery and that she thinks it’s a Surya rug. You can find Angie at Spain Hill Farm on Facebook!
Next up is Courtney and her beautiful container gardens:
Color me inspired!!! You can find Courtney on Instagram here: @CourtneyJanesTX
Next is this welcoming little seating area Julie created:
Oh, how I love an unpainted wood rocking chair! We *also* went with that tone on our porch. I love all the pops of green in Julie’s photo too! You can find Julie on Instagram here: @theheartenroad
Last but not least is Stephanie’s cool new house number:
Her and her hubby knocked it off their wish list this month and I think it’s such a cute and creative idea! You can find Stephanie on Instagram at @cabin20creations
Have you worked on an outdoor project this month? Feel free to link to it in the comment section. We’d love to celebrate with you!

Loved seeing all these beautiful porches and yards. My favorite spot in our yard is the checkerboard patio my husband created about 4 years ago. It needs a trim twice a year or so, and then all he has to do is mow over it to keep it looking sharp. It makes such a nice landing spot at the bottom of our deck stairs. https://kansasprairiegarden.blogspot.com/

Thanks for sharing these lovely images.
I need more information about this dry basement changes that Laura made! Pretty please. 🙂
