How fun! Did you meet each other through blogging? I have recently discovered Blogland. Rather late, I see considering the hundreds of women who are already here and thriving with stories of all kinds. Going on a road trip this weekend, to pamper my cousin (new mom). Wow! I am totally loving your blog. You are beyond inspirational. I was reading your post about adoption, my parents are actually serving a church mission in Ethiopia right now. They have been there for the past 18 months and I have heard many stories about the children there. Best of luck with moving forward with the adoption, there are so many deserving children there who need a wonderful home like yours!
Woohoo!!!! This is one Ozark Farm Chick who loves a great roadtrip! Heck, I kiss anything that’ll get me off the Missouri Ponderosa and away from the wild~eyed cattle. I do need to get out more…ya think????

As a mom of two children adopted as older kids [a 13 year old daughter from Russia and a 10 year old son from Kazakhstan] I applaud your decision to adopt an older child. Less than 5% of all adopted children are over the age of two. Reach out to other parents who have adopted from Ethiopia. I bet there is a Yahoo group for parents who have adopted from there. Also, read lots of blogs by parents who have BTDT specifically from Ethiopia. Most of all, be flexible. International adoption is filled with ups and downs, and it may take a year or more to get your child home. You may change agencies or countries before it’s all over. I lived in Nashville for 5 years and loved it. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you – but make sure you hit Printer’s Alley and all the touristy goodness to be had there – Tootsies, etc.
