I’m in Nashville hangin’ out with a whole buncha bloggers this week!
I rode up with Shaunna and Ashley yesterday afternoon.
They’re awesome gals, and I’m sure we’ll be giggling about that drive for years to come. Aren’t road trips with your girlfriends the BEST!?

How fun! Did you meet each other through blogging? I have recently discovered Blogland. Rather late, I see considering the hundreds of women who are already here and thriving with stories of all kinds. Going on a road trip this weekend, to pamper my cousin (new mom). Enjoy reading about your adoption plans. Wonderful news. Have a great weekend.

I am new to blogging and have followed your blog for about a year. Blissdom is a mere 20 minutes from where I live so maybe I can join the fun once I’ve been doing this for awhile.

Wow! I am totally loving your blog. You are beyond inspirational. I was reading your post about adoption, my parents are actually serving a church mission in Ethiopia right now. They have been there for the past 18 months and I have heard many stories about the children there. Best of luck with moving forward with the adoption, there are so many deserving children there who need a wonderful home like yours!
Nezzy (Cow Patty Surprise)
Woohoo!!!! This is one Ozark Farm Chick who loves a great roadtrip! Heck, I kiss anything that’ll get me off the Missouri Ponderosa and away from the wild~eyed cattle. I do need to get out more…ya think????
I just popped over from PW’s and am so glad I did. Girl ya got one beautiful blog here!!! :o)
You sweet little cuties have a great trip, a blast at the conference and a wonderfully blessed day straight from the beautiful hills and hollers of the Missouri Ponderosa!!!

oh my good gracious, layla!!! i just found your site from pw’s & WHOA. i am sooooo inspired! you have A GIFT, my friend! we’re hoping in the next several months to be moving out of the city to an old, OLD house that needs major renos on a teensy (i mean TEENSY) budget, so i’m so excited to get ideas from you! also, i love that you & your hubs are determined to design a life that you love! i totally get that. we’re in the process of that, too & it’s like a breath of fresh air to read your words & think – we’re not alone!
can’t wait to be back & read more!

Love the way you’ve redecorated your house. It’s gorgeous.
As a mom of two children adopted as older kids [a 13 year old daughter from Russia and a 10 year old son from Kazakhstan] I applaud your decision to adopt an older child. Less than 5% of all adopted children are over the age of two. Reach out to other parents who have adopted from Ethiopia. I bet there is a Yahoo group for parents who have adopted from there. Also, read lots of blogs by parents who have BTDT specifically from Ethiopia. Most of all, be flexible. International adoption is filled with ups and downs, and it may take a year or more to get your child home. You may change agencies or countries before it’s all over. I have on my blog some Pages devoted to adoption info. which may be helpful [like here: http://deescribbler.typepad.com/my_weblog/thinking-about-adopting-resource-tips.html%5D
Good luck and God Bless! Can’t wait to read more about your journey.

I lived in Nashville for 5 years and loved it. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you – but make sure you hit Printer’s Alley and all the touristy goodness to be had there – Tootsies, etc.
