Farmhouse Art

“Now and forever, You are my great reward. I won’t demand to know the reasons for my suffering. These open hands will trust Your wisdom, beyond what I see. Help me to know You are God, I am not. Remind my soul You’re in control.”
―Tim Timmons

I photographed some of my friend Ruthie’s paintings while we were at NEST a couple of weeks ago. Just for fun, ’cause that kind of thing is sooooo my jam. I was totally in my element in that little cabin in the woods: music on, tripod up…creating vignettes and capturing them for keeps. 🙂

Kevin and I are headed back to Tennessee again today. Remember Tacy, who I talked about in Thursday’s post? Well, she’s flying in to Nashville to visit her brother and his family for the weekend- and when your BFF is flying all the way across the country to a town 4 hours up the interstate, you MUST get in the car and go hang out with her for a few days.

I don’t think I’ve ever talked about Tacy’s brother, Tim, here. Have I? If you’re a K-LOVE listener, you’ve probably heard a few of his tunes. His name is Tim Timmons, and this is one of my favorites:

“Great Reward”

I trust in You for every heartbeat
As long as I’m alive
Your love endures when I wake
And when I close my eyes

Help me to know You are God, I am not
Remind my soul You’re in control

Praise to the Father
With every breath I take
In joy and sorrow
All for Your kingdom’s sake
Be Thou my vision
Be Thou my hope restored
Now and forever
You are my great reward

I won’t demand to know the reasons
For my suffering
These open hands will trust Your wisdom
Beyond what I see

Help me to know You are God, I am not
Remind my soul You’re in control

Praise to the Father
With every breath I take
In joy and sorrow
All for Your kingdom’s sake
Be Thou my vision
Be Thou my hope restored
Now and forever
You are my great reward
Oh Lord, my great reward

I know this is dangerous
Daring just to pray this
I will trust You Lord
The rock throughout the ages
You make me courageous
I will trust You Lord
I will trust You Lord

I know this is dangerous
Daring just to pray this
I will trust You Lord
Help me trust You Lord

The rock throughout the ages
You make me courageous
I will trust You Lord
I will trust You Lord

Praise to the Father
With every breath I take
In joy and sorrow
All for Your kingdom’s sake
Be Thou my vision
Be Thou my hope restored
Now and forever
You are my great reward
Oh, my great reward

    Such neat artwork!!
Quick question – I love your fireplace makeover and would love to know the height of your fireplace hearth. It seems a perfect height! Thank you!

Such a brave song, made me stop and think about my response to difficulties. So beautiful.

That song was so timely for me. My sister in laws’s husband is currently battling lung cancer. My husband’s cousin has a brain tumor. They operate Wednesday to remove it and see if it is cancer. She lost her mother to brain cancer. I will share this song with them. Thank you so much for sharing it.
