Aren’t those fun?! I love this stuff, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to “get together” with so many folks in this way every year. I’m looking forward to more e-partying next Tuesday and Thursday at Centsational Girl and Southern Hospitality and hope to see you there, too!
Ooh! And speaking of next Tuesday, my first episode for The Design Network will post that day, too- and I’m so excited to show you what has become of this kitchen:
I’m not sure exactly what time the episode will post, but you can sign up via email at TheDesignNetwork.com if you’d like to be notified when it does. We’re starting episode 2 at our place tomorrow morning, and first up on the agenda is this big ol’ sheetrocked wall:
I see wood planks in it’s (very near) future! 😀

Where did you get your dining table?!!???
Leah: )
Woo-Hoo!! Do we have to wait for episode 2 to air before we get to see the planked wall? (I’m guessing yes) so my next question is, when will that be? : ) Do I sound overly anxious? That’s because I am.: )
Thanks Layla!
Leah: )
P.S. It made me a little sad to see your new profile pic without Kevin!!
Layla
I’ll probably be able to post some sneak peeks along the way, Leah! 😀 Episode 2 will be up and kickin’ at TheDesignNetwork.com on November 4th, and I appreciate your enthusiasm so much!
And you are so sweet to miss Kev’s pic! He’s still on the “About” page, but since the blog is really “my baby” and I write all the posts, he thought we should switch up the “intro” a little to reflect that, and make it less confusing for first-time visitors. Can’t wait to add a picture of THREE Palmers to the About page next! 😀

Wow. There are some seriously creative people out there.
And even bigger WOW! That kitchen is huge. About two of my kitchens… maybe 3… maybe even 4!

Layla,
Thank you SO much for featuring my chalkboard. I’ve read your blog for a long time, and I was THRILLED to no end to see my own humble photo on your website.

Can’t wait to see what you do with the planks! I would love to plank one of the walls in my bedroom but am scared to take the plunge. 🙂
Laura @ Finding Home

What a welcome to Autumn fun batch of projects! Love the blackboard runner in so many ways & for so many uses. Very potluck & wine tasting friendly year around! So delighted with post and looking forward to your Design Network Debut. Had hoped to see the 2 of you get picked up by HGTV. Always loved the interplay between The Room by Room twosome though they were not a couple. Reinforced the concept of a “couple” working well together with humor & patience to get a terrific finished result from a project shared. Thinking you two may still be working in that direction. Best to you both always!
Layla
Thanks, Heather! 😀
We’re excited to be working together with TDN, too! Kevin felt more comfortable behind the camera this time around, so he’s doing all the filming and editing of these episodes, along with our friend Billy. Billy did catch Kevin on camera a couple of times though- chipping in on the manual labor and helping me stage the space for the big reveal. 😀 It’s been a blast to work with family and friends and I’m so thankful for the experience!

I’m thinking you painted the cabinets lighter and went with new wood floors. Granite was in nice shape so you probably kept that. Can’t wait to see it!

Love the leaf garland-what an easy idea. BTW-I have not heard anything in awhile about the show in October at The Waters. Is it still on? If so, can you provide the details again. I really hope I can make it.

I’ll have to try and make some burlap roses!! Lovely inspiration. Nicki x
