How do you define your style? I’ve always said, “Classic Cottage with a side of Farmhouse Fresh”, but just for fun, I took this Design Style Quiz over at the HomeGoods website yesterday and my result was “New Country” with a touch of “Set Sail”.
Here’s how the site described each part of my style:
‘New Country’ understands the value of slowing down, enjoying the sunsets, bringing the outside in, and feeling a real sense of relaxation in her space. She is laid back, but her style is still intentional and beautiful in its rustic elegance. ‘New Country’ homes have a very natural ease, but they’re not their grandmothers’ old-fashioned country homes. Warm, nature-inspired hues blend with brighter, contemporary elements for an updated country look.
‘Set Sail’ is as laid back as a warm breeze off the ocean. She’s inspired by sun-washed blues, soft, sandy whites, nostalgic, nautical stripes, and coastal elements. She saturates her home—and thus, those around her—with a sense of calm so palpable you’re almost sitting dockside when you visit her. Beginning with beach-bleached, comfy chairs and sofas, ‘Set Sail’ takes off with natural elements, like a jute rug or woven baskets. Fresh greens, blues, white, and pops of yellow make a refreshing palette.
I feel like those descriptions pretty much hit the nail on the head for me!
Several of our Lettered Cottage Community members took the quiz and felt like their styles were very accurately described too, so I thought I’d link to the quiz here today in case you wanted to check it out as well. It’s kind of fun to see what pops up!
Anywhoobs, I’ll be back tomorrow with another Let’s Go! video that I shared on Instagram a while back but never had a chance to edit and upload here to the blog. I’m thinking I *may* go to an antique store for this week’s Lexcursion…but we’ll see how I feel when that day rolls around. I’m open to suggestions if you feel like leaving one! XO

I got the same, but in opposite proportions…Set Sail with a touch of new country…LOL…thanks for posting!
Angela
I got farmhouse glam with a touch of Boho. SO FUN! And shocking that they could get all that from some random thumbnails. P.S. We’re getting ready to choose counters and I wondered how your inlaws are liking theirs in the barn?
Layla
So fun, Angela! 😀
And Katie is enjoying the Wilsonart laminate so far…of course they don’t have running water in their kitchen yet though, so they haven’t *really* been put to the test yet. 😉

Hey Layla…took the quiz and got The Traveller with a touch of Spa Chic!! And I would say that is spot on. So much fun to take the quiz and read about the results.
Tracy
I’m Farmhouse Glam with a touch of Set Sail!
Teresa
I’ve taken this test a few times several months apart and even if I choose a few different picture combos I always come out Farmhouse glam with a touch of Boho – which seems pretty accurate to the styles I gravitate towards. However, my current apartment probably reads a little more traditional with a touch of country. Maybe it’s time for a refresh! I used to be country all the way – the more the better. But less is more now and I know what I like and what I don’t.

I’m mostly Set Sail, with a touch of Spa Life, which is spot-on for me!!!

That was fun and they did nail right on the head with that. I’m a 100% new country. Although, I admit that only two photos spoke to me not 5 so I just kind of went with the ones I like the best and they nailed it.
Dianne
Oh well, I got Farmhouse glam with a touch of Classic, not me at all! There is no glam anywhere in my world! Fun taking the quiz, though.
Layla
Interesting! I wonder which photos were “glam”?
Amber
That was a fun quiz. Would it be too weird to do a let’s go at a garage sale or thrift store? It would help those of us who are living on love and not a lot of money…ya know what I mean?
Layla
Oh, that would be fun, but I do these on Tuesday or Wednesdays, so I don’t think I’d have any luck finding a garage sale. A thrift store might be fun though! That said, I always try to come up with super affordable ideas, no matter if I’m at Walmart, Hobby Lobby or a flea market, etc- so I got ya covered there! XO

My results were set sail with a bit of boho. Thanks =)
Cassie
I got classic. But I think it’s because I get suckered in by pink flowers 😂. I lean more cottage, I think. I do like boho though!
Karen barnard
Boho…..kind of not sure although I have been called a hippie very so often. Very interesting
Layla
I love that, Karen! 😀
Donna
Well I’m Sassy with a Touch of Classic and I thought I was Farmhouse glam!
Judy
You Hi Layla, I got new country with a side of set sail. I say it is spot on for me!

Fun! I got New Country with a touch of The Traveler… which suits my tastes! I love the farmhouse look and I have photos of all my travels throughout my home.

I got Classic with a touch of New Country. Actually I think New Country with a touch of Classic describes me better! I’m not as fussy as Classic, jut like a more tailored look, but laid back! And the blogs to follow in New Country were YOURS and Southern Hospitality, which I also follow! How ’bout that???!!!
Sunny
Set Sail is me too, as a matter of fact, it was this feel that drew me to the Lettered Cottage Layla in the first place. And how may years has that been!
So glad that the Lord brought me into your harbor :}
Hope to see more of that style.
Thanks for all the inspiration..
