I just stumbled across your site recently. Your projects are great. Excellent work! I love your Tybee Island house. The kitchen and bath in your before and after shots are fantastic, great cabinet color. You guys have done a great job with all your projects.
My wife and I are building our dream farm house THIS April in Morrisville, VT. We can not WAIT to get started! It’s been a long time coming, LOTS of saving and collecting and it’s finally here. It’s the first time I have WANTED winter to end early (I’m a skier). We are building a 1700 sqft high post cape with a 10/12 pitch roof, gable end facing front, big corner boards, big overhangs and birds nest returns. A very traditional New England look. We are also going to have an attached garage that is going to be built to resemble a big red barn, it’s 2 story and bigger than the house!….and it will have goose neck barn lights over the garage doors ; ) Our land is an old farm lot with Apple Trees, Tamaracks, lots of maples and TONS of berry bushes.
We have been collecting fixtures and furnishing for years now. Vintage claw-foot tub with all new fixtures including the shower and hanging curtain rod. Vessel sink on a farm hutch. Matching pedestal sinks in the upstairs bath. Vintage restored soapstone sink in the kitchen with butcher block counter tops and salvaged and restored white cabinets with glass doors up top. An old Hoosier we got for a STEAL on craigslist. A barn board kitchen table that we are going to make. Salvaged mahogany interior doors. Lots of custom lights that we are making. And bamboo floors throughout. It is a house on a tight budget but it is well planned and saved for and we’re doing or have done all the restorations and custom things ourselves. It is going to be beautiful home.
Thanks for the chance to win the light.
Oh man, those turquoise colors are KILLER! Crossing my fingers…
yes please!
I love the blue one…it would look so great in my house!
I’ve got the barn – now all I need is the light!!
That would be neat – I wonder where I’d put it if I win…. hmmm. I’m sure I’d find somewhere!
OOOOOH! What I could do with a farmhouse light!
Love this!!!
I love that pick-up truck blue color.
Ooh lovely!
LOL!! I was squinting trying to see if you super imposed your faces onto those people in the first photo (wish I knew all I had to do was scroll down) LOL You are too funny 🙂 Anyway, LOVE both of those lights, not sure which one I would pick if I won!
Ok… it took me forever to get to the bottom of this page. Must mean these lights are AMAZING – so throw my name in the hat too. I want one!
Pick me – this would look so fabulous in my New Mexico home! By the way, love the blog. . .
Layla,
I would LOVE the light blue light — so pretty, simple and classic.
Thank you!!
Great lights….I might have to buy one even if I dont win.
Definately cool!! Would love to win one!!
Winning! Sorry, I know everybody’s over Charlie Sheen now, but I still think it’s funny!
The sky chief please! If you saw the can lighting in my kitchen, you’d realize I was in a sorry state when I picked it out and obviously had never heard of Barn Light Electric!
Wow! I am in the middle (well i guess you could call it that) redoing everything in our house. my house is old and falling apart so instead of doing 1 room at a time I get a pod park it by my house and think I will clear my house out in a week, redo what I can (finances let me) and get rid of 90% of my junk in the process…well ya not going as planned so not only would this be a wonderful “pick me up” to win, but I love it! and seriously you guys are amazing! Thanks for sharing so much~ Dyan Euler (avid follower)
I live on a farm. The fixture would go well with my farmhouse kitchen. Good luck to all!
Oh, just what our kitchen needs, a gorgeous Barn Light Electric light. I love the blues and white too.
Thanks for the chance.
Really enjoy reading about your adventures and your design ideas! BTW, The sky chief light has my name written aaaaaalllllllll over it. We just painted our cabinets, countertops and jazzed up our kitchen and all it’s missing is the light above the window so pleeeeeaaaaaaaazzzzzzeeeee pull me name out of your hat.
Hope they are shipping to Germany! I love these lights. Especially the first one!
Love your website Layla and love the Sky Chief.
I am about to turn my nursery from a girl’s room to a boy’s room and would LOVE one of those lights to replace the dainty mini chandy! Thanks!
