Steevenson and I made apple butter rolls this week. The recipe came from my mother-in-law’s First Baptist Favorites cookbook, and while my sonny boy was a big fan of the finished product, I craved something a little sweeter. Some Insta-friends suggested we try Ree’s Mountain Dew Apple Dumping recipe and boy were those recommenders right! Those dumplings are DREAMY, y’all!
Steevenson still preferred the original version (can you believe he doesn’t like cinnamon or vanilla? Chocolate or caramel either! Gasp!) Oh well. At least we both got to enjoy an apple-y treat!
And speaking of things that make my mouth water…
We started on the bookcase wall today! SQUEEEEE!
I snapped that pic early this morning, before the extension shelves went up and on, so they actually look a little taller (and more built-in!) as of tonight. Brian the Carpenter is coming back to work a little this weekend, so I’ll share an updated photo on Monday.
Hope you have a nice Friday night, friends!

Okay I’m just going to share my two cents– because well, I hope you try it and well, I can’t do because I’m renting…. fill in that wall some more, and put a bookcase on a hinged door that open secretly to the diningroom. Viola– secret door leading to family goodness around the table or cooking together in the kitchen…. Enjoy your weekend.
Going to get ice cream today so that we can try that yummy treat!
We tried the Mountain Dew recipe from your stories and it was 👏👏🙌!
I just kept laughing about the Mountain Dew! So fun for us all.
Love the whole bookcase design. Your whole house has been great to watch bloom!
