“Grace tells us to check our pride at the door. We have to leave our arrows and our expectations out at the welcome mat, and come unarmed into the place where love lives.”
―Ash Parsons
I stumbled across a post about grace this morning, and it resonated for so many different reasons. I especially loved that line about grace telling us to “leave our arrows and expectations” at the welcome mat.
Of course, my (flawed, human) brain went straight to the people who haven’t extended grace to me in recent situations. Asked me irresponsible questions. Deflated me with their pointy arrows and weighty expectations. Conscience was kind to swoop in soon thereafter though, and swiftly reminded me that, of course, I’m guilty of doing all those things to others too.
So, this Thought-Full Thursday, I want to celebrate grace. For a God who answers the mess of life with His, and for the reminder that “grace is the love that won’t quit being offered to the least deserving…even ourselves”.

I hope I have never made you feel that way, as I never intend to on purpose. I was always told to be kind to others and treat them as I would like to be treated. I think social media has given some the idea that they are obliged to speak their minds, good or bad. People still forget that words speak volumes, about them mostly! And that words can hurt like a knife to the heart. God is tested with them, but is still there.

This is beautiful, Layla!
Thank you 😊 💗

Thank you for the reminder! God gives Grace freely and so should I! I’m often quick to judge and slow to extend grace. Jeannie

I needed to see this today. Thank you!

I’m reminded some words from a favorite hymn…” Grace, grace, God’s grace” So amazing, so healing.
