Hi! I’m a new follower here and like ther idea that you guys are putting together a magazine! I am on an iPad however, which doesn’t have the capability to use flash player so I couldn’t open the link to the first mag. Will we iPad users be able to view it another way? If you put a link to a downloadable PDF file of it, we’ll be able to open it in our iBooks magazine reader – just an idea but I understand that might be extra work :/

That’s fantastic! I love that first Screened Inn issue… Thank you for putting it together – looks like a lot of time and effort went into it. I’m so looking forward to seeing the next installment of the Lettered Cottage Magazine!

I am shocked that some big time decor agent hasn’t picked you two up!!!!! Everything you do is amazingly clever. It’s just a matter of time. We can say we knew you when. 🙂 I eagerly await this magazine. I spy another favorite Mary Englebreit. I loved Home Companion and miss it terribly. Keep the good stuff coming.
BTW, you two hold a special bond with me as I have 2 adopted children. I am praying for you.

Hey Layla! You and your hubby are always an inspiration to me – sometimes there’s a DIY project I would love to tackle but it just seems so overwhelming. Then I go to your blog and see the great creativity, what ya’ll have done and how you’ve gone about it – and the beautiful results. And I think “If Layla and Kevin can do it, then I can do it!” 🙂 Love your blog and the magazine. Looking forward to this new one coming out. Thanks for sharing your love, laughter, and life with all of us, along with fantastic DIY and decorating ideas. Sharon

Be still my heart! Girl this is fresh, country living at it’s best! I can’t wait! You never cease to amaze me. Your ideas beat any monthly magazine I buy on the supermarket shelf!!! I am a fellow “Birminghamian” and every time I go to Home Goods I secretly stalk the isles in hopes that I will run into you and Kevin shopping there. I think I would have a Beetle Mania moment and start screaming! Ha!

FUNNY STORY FOR LAYLA: I went to MN Ikea and purchased the wicker basket and white flowered plant because Layla had it…. and then the same day I purchased the white pillow with flower stiching on it and magically it appeared on your spare bedroom bed! It is so fun to see what will be in your pictures next..You are truly blessed at what you do…Keep up the great inspirations!

    Layla and Kevin,

I love what you do. You’ve already inspired me to redo my fireplace. And I’m looking forward to tackling my kitchen but I’m REALLY interested in knowing what the aqua color used on that dresser in the “mess hall” house. I’m thinking that would be perfect for my bathroom vanity. Keep up the good work. 🙂

    • Layla

      Apr 13, 2011 at 9:14 am

      Hey Katrina!
I think that dresser was already painted that color, if I remember correctly. Sorry! 🙁

Hi! I absolutely love your site. I also love the turquoise/aqua door on the main page for this article. I am looking for a color just like that to paint my house. Do you know the name of the paint used on that door? I’d be forever grateful!

    Thanks~Jennifer

Absolutely amazing job! I loved looking at your magazine!! Beautiful and inspiring pictures. The pops of red you used like the oar on the wall and the pictures of the tug boat. You definitely could sell your magazine. Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us!
