Hey, y’all! I’m so excited to be a part of my friend Rachel’s Spring Home Tour today! 😀 If you’re new here, my name is Layla Palmer and I live with my husband (Kevin) and our newly-adopted 5-year-old son, Steevenson, in Sweet Home Alabama. Come on in, and let me show you around!
First up, my *favorite* area to decorate…our fireplace:
I went with a farmhouse feel this time around. I got the windmill from my friend Mary at Urban Farmgirl, and I just love, love, love it!
After that, I popped in some old bottles (to remind me of my bottle-digging days as a child in rural Minnesota), a “Support Your Local Farmers” sign, and then sprinkled in some greenery here and there.
And since we live in a farmhouse style home that sits on the edge of a lake, in a community called “The Waters” (which is surrounded by cow pastures and cotton fields)- I always like to reflect a little bit of that on our gallery wall in the living room too:
I got the throw pillows on the sofa from HomeGoods the other day…aren’t they cute? 😀
Just around the corner from the living room, is our “bird bath”:
It was the first room we re-did when we moved into the house (5 years ago) and I still wanna pinch it’s cheeks to this day. 🙂
Over in the kitchen, I didn’t really do a *whole* lot of decorating…just a little Spring cleaning and it was good to go!
Last but not least, I’m only going to show you a tiny peek of our master bedroom because we’re still pulling things together in there:
I’ve got some fun plans for that rooms over the next couple of months, and I look forward to sharing all the details here along the way. 🙂
And that brings me to the end of our home tour. Big thanks to Country Living magazine and HomeGoods for sponsoring this blog hop. They’re literally my favorite magazine and home store, so you can imagine how excited I was to be invited to participate! (Montgomery-area peeps: we’re getting a HomeGoods behind Target this Fall so we won’t have to drive to Birmingham anymore- aaaaahhhh!!!!)
Now this is where it gets *reeeeally* fun. Here are links to all the other bloggers that are posting tours today too:

May I ask where you found your “Support your local farmers” sign?
Sure! I got it at Michaels. 🙂
Thank you for sharing. My daughter is an animal science major and plans to work on, and one day own, a farm; and I want to get her this sign! So cute! 😍
Pretty! May I just say that Country Living magazine still knocks it out of the ballpark?
Gorgeous, as usual! Where did you find your cute blue and white vases on your mantel? I love them!
Thanks, Caprice! I got those in the clearance section at Michaels. 🙂
Lovely home, beautiful family. Blessings from Missouri to you :)!
Thank you, Robbin! XO
Hello Layla:) Where did you happen to find your Lunch Being served sign – Love it! Love all your goodies that you share! So happy for you and your adopted son:) I was adopted and its a huge blessing!
Great designs! I love the slice of log and little cabbage plant in the kitchen. Did they come from anywhere special?
I love, love, love the different shades of blue that you’ve used around your home. It makes it look so calm and relaxing.
Layla! Can it really be 5 years already that you moved? Seems just yesterday.
Love all the Spring touches, looks beautiful as always!
I thought the same thing! She must have done her math wrong–I can’t be getting older that quickly. 😉
Miss seeing posts of that adorable son of yours, Layla! That smile of his says it all and brings such a personal touch to your blog. As the mother of twin sons, there is nothing better than a little fella to melt your heart! Warm regards, Deborah
I can’t get over how much I love the propellor! I want to add one to our lake cottage now. Thanks for always inspiring. Have a beautiful week!
Layla! Love it all! Where did you get the poof that looks a bit like a sea urchin? So cute!
You blend Seaside Cottage and Farmhouse Style so seamlessly! What a beautiful home to grow together in…
Absolutely gorgeous as always! I’ve always loved that gallery wall in your living room. xo
Beautiful as always, Layla! I just adore your style! 🙂
So pretty, Layla! Love the oil painting on your gallery wall and your beautiful fireplace. It was so fun to get a peek at your bedroom too. Can’t wait to see more. xx
Layla, where did you get the square soap in the little bathroom? I’ve been looking for the same kind, but to no avail.
Love your spring tour! So great being on this tour with you.
Hugs, Jamie
I like the little guy in the boat on the gallery wall and can imagine who put it there!
Thank you! I put it there. 😉
Love it all! Thanks for sharing. I can’t wait to see your master! 🙂 I think you may have mentioned it before, but what are your ceiling heights on the main level? Are they 10′? We’re planning a new build, and all the plans I’ve picked so far all have 9′ ceilings up and down. I’m just trying to convince myself I don’t need 10′ (even though it’s what we have in our current living room, and I love it). Sigh… 🙂
Holy smokes that ocean oil painting — yes I see what you mean about it being your best flea market find. I just love your home so much. The colors and comfort and that half bathroom– it doesn’t matter how many times I see it, I never get tired of it. Oh and also, I need some of that fettuce! 😉
Your spaces look great! I really love the way that you did your gallery wall. Layering your pieces of artwork really gave depth to the space and draws the eye. With all of the blue accents in your home, spring certainly looks good in there! Looking forward to seeing your master bedroom!
Your home is so lovely and where you live sounds AMAZING! You houses scream, beachy cottage chic and I adore it 🙂
Those pillows are SUPER cute to.
Lauren

Thank you, friend!
Thank you for the links to the tours! I ended up subscribing to many of those blogs. Loved the variety of Spring decors.
Beautiful home, Layla. Love the way you’ve styled your fireplace area!
Thank you, Jennifer! XO
Layla, I love your water and lake inspired gallery wall. Where did you get the little black shelf at the bottom of the arrangement? I would love something like that for my home. 🙂
Thanks, Julia! And I got the shelf from Pottery Barn. 🙂
Layla, I’ve been following your blog for a while, but I haven’t seen your “bird bath” before – it’s ADORABLE!
Layla:
I just love your blog and the way you decorate. Sometimes I get frustrated when I decorate the it takes me a long time. I just love your style
I am in the market for a wrought iron headboard . Could you please share with me where you got yours. I just love it
Thank you
Maryann
Hi Layla, May I ask where you got those cute sconces next to your bed? I have decided to do something similar for my master, instead of lamps, and love that no electrician is required. Thanks!
