Hi, friend. 🙂
We’re still out on the road, and I can hardly wait to tell you all about where we’ve been for the past few days.
We got to watch Fall burst onto the scene, and after a challenging September (health-wise), this “pit stop” is exactly what the doctor ordered. (Like, literally. He told me my blood work was totally normal, and that I just need to S L O W D O W N!) 😛
We’re headed to Michigan for the next several days (Kevin’s recording a couple more songs there), and like I said, I’m really looking forward to firing up the computer tomorrow night so that I can put together a post about our time in Wisconsin at Camp Wandawega. It was just as absolutely dreamy as I remembered!
In the meantime, I’m launching this month’s Blog Threads t-shirt designs over at BlogThreads.com. They’ll be available from now ’til Friday night, and there are two designs to choose from:
The first one says, ‘I Am Blogger, Hear Me Write’:
(Get it? Like, “I am woman, hear me roar!”?) 😀
It’s available in Vintage Red and Heather Gray, and it’s available in three different cuts: Unisex (crew neck), Ladies Cut (v-neck), and Ladies Cut (crew neck).
I’m wearing Ladies Cut shirts in size LARGE in those photos, and I wear a SMALL in the Unisex shirts.
Here are the size charts for all three cuts, in case they are helpful too:
Unisex:
Ladies Cut v-neck:
Ladies Cut crew neck:
The second design says, ‘She Looks For Adventure Around Every Corner‘:
It’s available in Vintage Purple, Royal Blue and Heather Gray.
And like I mentioned yesterday, 20% of the proceeds from the ‘She Sees Adventure’ t-shirt will go to Luke and Katie Murray.
They’re adopting a baby girl that is due (in Florida) in December, and you can follow along with their adoption adventure at Katie’s blog: Being Mrs. Murray! 😀
If you’re interested in ordering a shirt, you can hop over to the Blog Threads website by clicking on the banner below:
Once the sale is done (Friday night at bedtime!) I’ll deactivate the site so that I can tally up the order and send it off to the print shop. I’ll get them back from the print shop around October 25th, and I’ll start mailing them out once they show up on my doorstep. (I’m thinking they’ll all be delivered between October 27nd-November 7th, depending on what part of the world folks live in!)
Thanks for stopping by today!
Confused on sizing: Is the bust measurement across one side? And the hip measurement all the way around (front + back)? Thanks!
Hi Liz!
For the bust measurement, you would lay the t-shirt out flat and measure straight across the front of it (one inch down from the armpit area). There is no hip measurement- that’s actually HPS, which stands for “High Point of Shoulder”. Hope that helps, and thanks for checking with me! 😀
Hi Laya-Love these t-shirts! I can’t get the link to work. :-/ I’ll google and see if I can find the site but I just wanted you to know it isn’t working. 🙂
Blessings,
Beth
I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan….where in Michigan are you? I live close to the lake shore (Holland) in the small town of Hudsonville. I have a few friends that have recorded songs here who, like Kevin, are Praise and Worship Leaders. I hope you enjoy Michigan and find the quiet, sole refreshing rest you are in need of! Safe travels! If you are close to Grand Rapids, I would love to recommend some antique shops you would love!
Hi Tami! I live just south of Grand Rapids and would love to hear about the antique shops your referring too! I’m always on the hunt for those little shops I have yet to discover.
Layla, your going to love Michigan this time of year. The air is crisp, the leaves are changing, and the apple cider is plentiful!
I want to go to that camp. It looks like a little slice of heaven.
Wow.
Hope you’re healthy darlin’.
peace and blessings,

Ahhh, Michigan! I hope you enjoy it’s beauty as much as I did when we vacationed there.
Love the shirts, what they say and the font used.
Glad you are slowing down-it does a body good!
Praying for you, Kevin and your little one; that your time of waiting will come to an end soon and your time of being united will come. We know the Bible tells us, “to everything there is a season.” Praying your season of parenthood will begin. Of course, God’s timing is everything and I know you want His will. Praying for the grace and patience needed while you wait. I know it’s hard!
I hope this question isn’t too inappropriate 🙂 but I wondered if you would let me know what number clothing size you normally wear. Would be so helpful in judging what size to order. It’s crazy how small things tend to run now…my 17 year old daughter wears a
2-4 in reg clothing but always gets a M (and sometimes L) in any kind of logo tshirt!! BTW…LOVE this design (adventure)! Thanks for your help!
Hi Julie!
No problem! I am 5′-4.5″ tall (130 lbs.) and usually wear a size small in shirts, but sometimes a medium. Hope that helps!
Hi Layla~
WOW…in Michigan, I’m honered. Born and raised, Petersburg, Michigan, small SMALL town:) The shirts are adorable, love them!!!!! I also wondered if there was a email or something I could get your take on a painting project. My daughter in~in~law to be ask me to help her with a painting project. Its a very old credenza, its wood, she wants to paint it. She thinks white, wants it to look a bit vintage, but not old old. So I wondered A. do we have to sand it (I’m thinking yes)
B. what brand of paint would you recommend? C. And I think she wants maybee the corners to look worn off, ya know to get that little bit of vintage appeal. I wondered if you simply use sand paper to achieve that look after painting. Thanks Layla:)
Hi, Lisa!
I would definitely sand it down a little, and I would definitely use Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint or Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint! Sandpaper wrapped around a sanding block will do the trick to achieve the distressed look when she’s done painting. It’s going to be beautiful!! 😀
Oh my gosh, I love these! Just ordered one!
Thank you, Marty! 😀
Are you for real enjoying that wonderful looking fall landscape in your first picture!! Ohhh that just makes me want to hop in the picture and sit in one of those lounge chairs! Enjoy your blog very much!!
Yes! It was such a peaceful place, Dawna! We’re near Detroit now though, so it’s a little bit of a different vibe here- LOL! 😀
Love the t-shirt idea! Very cool sayings!
Thank you, Sue! 😀
I’m in the market for new glasses…and I want those! You look so adorable.
Please share all the details, so I can replace my 10 year old frames.
Thank you, Kellie! They’re made by Vogue, and they replaced *my* 10 year old frames, too! 🙂
I don’t understand the sizing charts at all… I’m looking at the unisex chart. HPS length – what is that? And bust 1″ below armhole – surely that’s not an around-the-bust measurement… Help! I’m a busty thing and usually an XL or 2XL in a unisex work for me, but this chart is so confusing.
Hi Stephanie!
HPS stands for “High Point of Shoulder”, and it’s the measurement from the very top point of the shoulder to the bottom.
The other measurement is a flat-across-the-front measurement. In other words, lay the t-shirt flat, and measure straight across from side to side, one inch down from the armpit area. Hope that helps!
I was happy to order a tee shirt. What a wonderful way to help other adoptive parents-to-be. Adoption is a great way to grow your family. My husband (of 35 yrs!) and I have 3 children…all adoptees. Always eager to learn of other adoptive families.
Best wishes in this time of waiting. I know it’s not easy; but, oh, so worth it in the end when you hold that sweet babe in your arms. Our kids are 14, 22, and 24, so it’s been a long while since they were babes!
I wish I was a Blogger so I could get the I Am Woman shirt. I definitely get the reference to the Helen Reddy song and my husband loves to tease me with those lyrics when I get a bit too, shall we say…upset?
Oops! I meant I Am Blogger shirt!
I just ordered one! Fun, fun! Best wishes to both of you adopting couples! xo
Thank you, Betsy! 😀
I missed the sale! Will there be any more chances to purchase before Christmas? Are you doing them once a month? I would love to order some shirts!
Hi Amanda!
I haven’t ended it yet because it occurred to me that the print shop isn’t open til Monday to take my order, so you’re still welcome to swing by if you’d like! 🙂
Layla,
I LOVE the “She Looks for Adventure” shirt!! It looks GREAT! I was going to see if you wouldn’t mind sharing what font the “Looks For” part is? It’s a fun font and I’ve never seen it before.
Thanks!
Katie
