Now that Steevenson is in Pre-K til 12:15 during the week, I’ve had a little more time to do things like work, shower, clean and think. 😉
Steevenson is looooving his new schedule too. He tells us almost every day how much he likes his school and teacher. He already has a best friend, too! His name is Tylan and hearing & seeing the two of them giggle as they run or skip hand-in-hand to the door is one of my favorite things these days. 🙂
The other day while he was at school, I decided to do something totally out of the ordinary. Go to a home store! TJ Maxx was calling my name, and although I struggled not to feel guilty about wasting my time doing “nothing”, boy was it fun/therapeutic to just wander around for a couple of hours. I used my cell phone to snap some photos of some of my favorite little things, just in case you were on the lookout for mercury or painted glass soap dispensers…

…or some of the prettiest throw pillows in town! I saw metallics…

The last two came home with me, and you KNOW these letters did too…
I literally gasped out loud when I turned the corner and saw them laying there like that. There weren’t any other letters. Just those three. Kevin. Steevenson. Layla.

TJMaxx is in my home town. Can’t tell you how many visits I’ve made for holiday shopping this year alone. One of my favorite stores — I hear my name called to go inside all of the time!! Merry Family Christmas, Layla. It’s the best time of year!

Boy what a selection of pillows! Seasonal pillows are a fun way to add fun accents to a room and change things up a bit! Never underestimate the power of a little retail therapy, it really can soothe the soul! I think finding those letters arranged like that were a reward!

One of my favorite God wink moments. I went to the store looking for a blue blazer. I found a Pendleton navy blazer marked at $9. It originally had been $200. I thought it must really be $90. I asked the sales lady and she said “oh, a button fell off and I sewed it on this morning and put it back on the rack, but it’s no longer in stock so $9 is correct.” I just knew it was waiting for me. Love those moments.

Oh, girl, you take those fun moments for yourself! If you are recharged, you will be a better mom and wife. SO important. No more guilt! We moms do that to ourselves often enough as it is!

When I was in USA in September, TJ Maxx was one of my buy a suitcase and fill’er up go to’s. I brought back soooo much stuff! I wish we had them here in Australia. I love their goodies and so reasonably priced too!
So please Steevenson is fitting in at Pre-K. Can be difficult if they don’t make friends, but he seems such an outwardly happy little guy, it’d be hard for him NOT to make friends.
Oh, and Mummy’s always need their timeout shopping therapy.
I saw some of the same beautiful pillows at TJMaxx, but had no idea that they would be so expensive (just about $80 per pillow!) Is this normal? I was expecting on paying less than $50/per.

I just love TJMaxx. My daughter works there while attending college as did my eldest daughter as well. It’s always fun to browse the home section. So many good finds. I am smitten with the pillows as well. I bought two of the black & white plaid ones you showed. I’ve seen the others here in Michigan as well. I also love the letters. I’m always looking for interesting ones to spell our last name.
TJ Maxx is my guilty pleasure. I will go there just to wander too. I picked up two of those plaid pillows with the fringe, but a different plaid.
