I’m on another avocado kick. Did you know they’re actually considered a fruit? Yep. Apparently they’re a (single-seeded) BERRY. #whaaaaaaa? #ThingsIDidn’tKnowUntilIWas40
I went through an avocado phase at one point last year too. Seems like I moved on to Honey Crisp apples after that. Or was it chocolate chip cookies? (hee hee)
(Spray roses, just ’cause I love ’em)
And speaking of kicks, I’m trying to walk at least 10,000 steps every day, too. Jenna Wolfe got me all fired up about it. (Are you following the Jeff Rossen stuff on the Today Show?) I started using an app called Pacer to keep track of how many steps I’ve taken, but whew! I have been WAY off. I’m talkin’ thousands of steps off. Don’t tell Jenna. 😉
In adoption news, two of our fellow adoptive families are at the orphanage meeting their kids this week! They are on their 2-week socialization trips, and although the wifi and electricity haven’t been working very well so far, we did get a few fun texts from one of the mamas about our Sweet P today.
In one, she said “He’s little, but he’s heavy, and that boy has RHYTHM!” 😀 How neat is that? We’ve heard from others that one of his favorite things to do is learn new songs. His musical daddy is especially excited about that. 🙂
There’s a chance we could meet up with our friends while they’re still down there, but our Sweet P’s paperwork (along with two other precious kiddos) still needs one more signature before we can book our plane tickets.
Families have been traveling very quickly after they get their official invite, so we could be headed to Haiti VERY soon!
We usually get updates on Fridays, but since that letter could literally come any time now- we’ve got our suitcases on stand by.
Have I mentioned I’m on a perma-smile kick now, too? Yep. Even when I’m alone. 😀
PS- I still need to install a plug-in to help me (randomly) choose a winner for the Lysa TerKeurst book giveaway. I promise to announce the name of the winner this Wednesday!
Sending prayers your way that you will soon have your son in your arms. 🙂
This blog post warmed my heart because I aspire to adopt children on day as well. I can’t wait to hear about when Sweet P finally comes home! I could only imagine the joy you’ll have on that day! Great post. Thanks for giving me a “permi-smile” as well.
My eyes are filled with tears and I am smiling. We have The Jesus Story Bible as well. My neighbor gave it to my son for Christmas, we read it at nights. Great book. I am wishing hard and praying for news for you.
Such exciting news!!! Another friend brought home her new adopted child number three just this last weekend. I love this. Wonderful! Cannot wait to hear that Sweet P has arrived and we get to see his sweet face. Such a blessing.
Thanks for making ME smile, so thrilled to hear such good news.
Enjoy the tempo of a God-breathed life by letting Him set the the pace. Hold His hand in childlike trust, and the way before you will open up step by step.
