Metal Farmhouse Style Bed

Jan 21, 2019 By Layla

Howdy, folks! I thought I’d share a few photos of our in-progress master bedroom here today. Everybody has one of those in their home, right? 😉

Siv Panel Bed

I know they’re not for everyone, but I gotta say, it’s SO fun seeing/having a footboard after all these years without one! I feel like it helped keep our bedding in place better last night. We were always having to pull the covers back up as they worked their way toward the end of the bed throughout the night before.

As for the other stuff in the room, the sconces are from and the rug is from RugsUSA. We’ll probably be switching out the rug soon now that our flooring is basically the same color. The chandelier came from Lamps Plus and the painting is by Natalie Hamm and it’s one of my favorite things in our whole house! The faux beams are from AZ Faux Beams (I’ll be painting them white soon because I have come to realize I don’t love having dark brown above our heads.) and the window shades are from Select Blinds. The color/style we chose is Jute Wheat. Oh! And be sure to use my special code TRANSFORM at check out for an additional discount if you place an order over there! The nightstands are vintage and the curtains rods…well, they’re not actually all installed yet- ha! I got them at and they’re the same ones I’ve used throughout the rest of the house. I can’t remember where we got the table lamps, but I’d like to swap those out with something less….glass…eventually too. I look for them everytime I’m in HomeGoods but I haven’t found the perfect ones yet.

Here’s a few more photos of the bed…I really like the finish on it!

I forgot to mention where we got the bedding. The euro shams are from and the ticking stripe quilt is too. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available but I keep hoping they’ll bring it back someday! The gray blanket is from Pine Cone Hill and I think I found the long pillow at HomeGoods.

Anywho- like I said, we’ve still got a ways to go in this room, but little by little, we’ll get there and it sure is comfy just the way it is, too! 🙂

The link under the picture of the bed goes to Stevenson’s bed. Did you get it from Wayfair?

Oops! I’ll fix that now! Thank for the heads up. 🙂

Pretty bed!! I like seeing your progress pictures. You have such great style! I like your current nightstands! Did you decide to keep them or get new ones? And the pop of green from the painting is lovely!

May I suggest that instead of painting the beams white you might want to do a grey stain or grey wash so that the beams will be still visible but in a subdued manner instead of disappearing into the ceiling which would happen if you painted them white.

That’s such a great idea too, but I actually want them to disappear into the ceiling- LOL. Not totally, but color-wise.

I Loooove the beams and love how they define the space and give height. Would you consider painting the glass lamps? I bet a transucent blue green would look nice.

I love those sconces! Do you have a direct link? The current link goes to a sconce with more of an adjustable arm.

The beams look so good in your room. Don’t you think they will just disappear if you paint them white. Did you install them?

That’s actually my goal! 😀 And yep, we installed them.

This is beautiful! Where is the painting from? I love the green and the pasture landscape!

Thank you! And I linked to the gal who created the painting in my post. Her work is exquisite! 😀

Love it all!!!! Just wondering if you guys ever finished the wood wall in your bedroom? I think it was hexagonal shape or or an X shape or something like that? It looked amazing when y’all were working in it!! 😊😊

I love your bedding and the art work! You said in your last post that you were thinking of replacing the night stands, but the ones now are so similar and I can’t see anything wrong with them. Did you finish the wall you had been working on, and do you still have the chest on the left side wall? I recently saw one like it here in our area, and the lady was considering painting it white – and I thought of yours!

Lovely space! We recently added a very similar metal headboard and love it. I believe I have those same lamps, purchased several yrs ago for my living room from HomeGoods. Instead of replacing them, have you ever put things inside of them for a pop of color or some interest? I’ve had twine balls, faux green apples and old book pages in mine. Just a thought.

Lovely room. My next bed-frame will be a metal one. Look up beams in a bedroom/above your head and Feng Shui. It’s interesting.

I have! That’s one of the reasons I want to paint them! 😀

This is SO weird – just before (literally, seconds earlier) I stopped by your site, I was scrolling through bed frames on Wayfair. I bookmarked one almost exactly like yours here. Then I popped over here to see what you’ve been up to and see this post. I am feeling incredibly proud that I chose something so close to your pick. I love your style, and it was like getting the Layla Seal of Approval (like GH, but better!).

    Hi,

I’ve been trying to decide on footboard for a metal bed I’d like to put in my guest room? Can you tell me what helped you decide?

      Hi!
We wanted something to keep our blankets from sliding off the end of the bed. 🙂

Have you decided what type/color curtains you are putting up?

Not yet…maybe white so they like a softer version of the quiet walls?
