“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
One more sleep ’til we head to Louisiana to welcome little Samuel home!! Aaaahhhh!! 😀
I had fun adding a few fall touches to the mantel this afternoon. My sweet friend Tiffini from House of Belonging sent me the beautiful sign, and I got the pumpkins at the curbside market in Montgomery. I made sure to thank the kind farmer who sold them to me for doing such a good job plucking them so perfectly. Are you a sucker for a long stem, too? I sure am. The curly-swirlier the better. 🙂
Happy weekend, y’all! I look forward to sharing a post about Samuel’s homecoming on Monday!
PS- I retired my “Chapel Market” last year, but if you find yourself in Pike Road, Alabama on Saturday (October 3), the fellas that own the chapel are hosting a similar market called “The Market on Chapel Hill” from 9am-4pm. Here’s a link to their Facebook page if you’re interested in more info!
Love the new sign and captain chairs by the fireplace! It all goes so well together. Awesome! P.S. Have fun in Louisiana.

Oh, Samuel is one of our Sweet P’s little buddies, Julia! His family has been in-process about a year longer than we have and we’re SO excited to meet them at the airport to welcome “Mumu” home!! ?

Layla, How are you hanging the picture? Are you placing picture hangers in between the slats? I have been inspired to do this over my fireplace and hopefully will be a “honey-do” for when the weather is cooler in FL.
I change out the pictures and other items over my fireplace mantel constantly and find I am having to place the new items to cover the other holes in the wall from previous grouping.
Thank you! Kelly
Oh, I just hammered two little nails into the old boards. I figure, they’re already over 100 years old, and the holes will just add more character! 😀
Where can I purchase the print above to mantle? Thank you!
Layla I could kiss your face for introducing me to HOB. I LOVE your fall mantel and I love your sign! My interest was piqued and I went on to Tiffini’s site and was greeted by my favorite quote in, get this, a font I adore. I had seen this exact perfection in my mind before and it was manifested right on my screen. I ordered without even hesitating. I know Im quiet on here but thank you kindly for years of positivity in my rss feed and for placing this opportunity, literally, right in my lap. xoxox
Thank YOU, Niki! What a kind comment you left me to find! XO Hope you’re having a beautiful weekend, sweet friend!
