I had fun adding a few fall touches to the mantel this afternoon. My sweet friend Tiffini from House of Belonging sent me the beautiful sign, and I got the pumpkins at the curbside market in Montgomery. I made sure to thank the kind farmer who sold them to me for doing such a good job plucking them so perfectly. Are you a sucker for a long stem, too? I sure am. The curly-swirlier the better. 🙂

Happy weekend, y’all! I look forward to sharing a post about Samuel’s homecoming on Monday!

PS- I retired my “Chapel Market” last year, but if you find yourself in Pike Road, Alabama on Saturday (October 3), the fellas that own the chapel are hosting a similar market called “The Market on Chapel Hill” from 9am-4pm. Here’s a link to their Facebook page if you’re interested in more info!

Your space is beautiful! Are those sprigs of lamb’s ear on the mantle? I love them! Also, love the long-stem pumpkins. I agree- perfectly plucked!

Layla, How are you hanging the picture? Are you placing picture hangers in between the slats? I have been inspired to do this over my fireplace and hopefully will be a “honey-do” for when the weather is cooler in FL.
I change out the pictures and other items over my fireplace mantel constantly and find I am having to place the new items to cover the other holes in the wall from previous grouping.
    Thank you! Kelly

Oh, I just hammered two little nails into the old boards. I figure, they’re already over 100 years old, and the holes will just add more character! 😀

Layla I could kiss your face for introducing me to HOB. I LOVE your fall mantel and I love your sign! My interest was piqued and I went on to Tiffini’s site and was greeted by my favorite quote in, get this, a font I adore. I had seen this exact perfection in my mind before and it was manifested right on my screen. I ordered without even hesitating. I know Im quiet on here but thank you kindly for years of positivity in my rss feed and for placing this opportunity, literally, right in my lap. xoxox
