You guys!
I DIDN’T FAINT DURING THE SESSIONS I TAUGHT AT THE HAVEN CONFERENCE!!! 😀
No, seriously, it was a blast and, sure, I may have been *close* at one point, but I made it through and everybody I talked to said they couldn’t even tell I was shaking in my boots- ha! And by “boots”, of course I mean sandals. I couldn’t wear the boots. I bought a pair especially for the conference, but they gave me a MONSTER blister within 15 minutes, so flat-soled sandals it was. 🙂
One of my favorite aspects of the conference was getting to know the folks in our mentor group. What an incredible and kind bunch of people! I thought it would be fun to introduce them (and their blogs) to you today because I know you’ll love them too!
First up- Aaron and Jamie at So Much Better With Age. Would you believe this lettering on the wall in their powder room is a stencil? And Jamie painted it on in about an hour??? Amazeballs.
Next up, Laura Ingalls Gunn from Decor To Adore. SUPER fun fact: Laura’s great-great grandfather, Lansford “James” Ingalls, and Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Pa”, Charles, were brothers! I had so much fun reading this post about her relatives last night and you should definitely click through if you’re also a Little House on the Prairie fan. (That’s Laura and Almanzo’s farmhouse below)
Next, Corey and Kristy at Robb Restyle. You knoooow If you’ve seen my new (old) office wall, you knoooow I’m obsessed with their new (old) kitchen backsplash:
Next, Vicki and Steph from Mother Daughter Projects. I loved hearing about their concrete pumpkin project during one of our meet-ups. Such a great idea! Click through that link for their step-by-step tutorial.
Last but not least, Vicki and Jennifer at 2 Bees In A Pod. Another awesome mother/daughter duo. I cannot wait to try their Easy Peach Turnover recipe!
Hope you’re week is off to a great start, y’all!

Hey Layla – Since Haven we haven’t stopped, talking, planning, working and dreaming. We feel that it was the best conference ever…and that was in large part to you and Kevin. Your generosity and loving spirit of sharing your knowledge and hearts with us makes us love the blogging community and our part in it even more. We can’t thank y’all enough for being the Best Mentors ever! And thanks so much for sharing this post today…we are grateful. Love the Bees

I went to your session and loved it! I loved Kevin’s session too. I’ve been playing around in my version of Photoshop, not having a lot of luck. I think I may have to sign up for your class. I think maybe I have a different version? It just looks so different. BTW, loved your video on instagram about your breakfast nook.

Layla, my heart is so full. Thank you so very much for your kind mention. It was such a lovely gift to receive you and Kevin as mentors. You truly were a blessing. I cannot wait to implement some of the suggestions you provided once Lou and I return from our trip to NYC.
