5 Beautiful (Faux) Botanicals For Your Home

Sep 7, 2017 By Layla

Hi, friends!

I normally share a Thought-Full Thursday post on Thursdays, but I’m working on our Fall mantel this week, and I’ve got branches on the brain! 🙂

I thought I’d share a post about some of my favorite faux ones here today in case someone out there is looking for something similar. First, I’ll link to the “faux-liage”, then I’ll tell you why I like it.

1. Sorrento Topiary:

Why I like it: The color and veining on the leaves looks very realistic. I also like the way the leaves fall. Some faux leaf stick out too straight, but these hang like they would in real life. And don’t even get me started on that cute pot.

2.

Why I like it: It’s hard to find tall branches that look like the ones you’d clip outdoors. These are 39″ tall and have a really nice fluidity about them. I also like the sparseness of the leaf clusters. With something that tall (including the jug), you don’t necessarily always want a million leaves making it look top-heavy, or an arrangement you can’t see through.

3.

Why I like it: Again, I like how tall it is, and that the branches aren’t loaded up with too many leaves. I also like the fact that you only need two stems to make an arrangement.

4. Artificial Aspen Branch in Yellow Gold:

Why I like it: In my experience, it’s incredibly difficult to find a great-looking faux branch with Fall-colored leaves on it, but this one it fabulous. The leaves are such a pretty earthy-yellow, and I love a brown-colored branch. I especially love the way this one moves. Even the smaller branches that shoot off the main ones look so similar to how they look in nature.

5. Faux Forsythia Branch:

I also found some pretty ones at Jo-ann Fabrics the other day, and I look forward to showing you those in my mantel post next Tuesday. Which reminds me, I’m hosting a Fall decorating series here on my blog Tuesday through Friday next week, and I’ve invited 4 of my favorite blogging friends to join me.

Lucy from Craftberry Bush

Beth from Home Stories A to Z

Michael from Inspired Charm

Rachel from Shades of Blue Interiors

We’ll each be sharing different Fall-themed decorating idea posts, and I hope you’ll swing by to check them all out. There was a cool breeze here in Alabama today, and it made me so excited about the upcoming season! 😀

Layla

PS- If you’d like a sneak peek of the faux branches I’m using on our mantel, I’ll be sharing stories about it on Instagram later today. 😉

Hi Layla! Thanks for this post… I love the branches & now I’m inspired to decorate my mantle accordingly. Happy Fall!!!

Thanks for these links! I used to sell silk (faux) flowers and have seen some truly awful ones. I’d rather go without than have something that is obviously fake. The good ones are worth their price ( but the markup from wholesale is crazy!) They will last and last.

    Wow! they actually look real!
I tell you what though, nothing beats the scent of eucalyptus in a house. I love going out and collecting fresh from my area. I am lucky though, I live in Australia! But I think if I really missed home when I was in US (next April!!! yay!) then I would get some of those and stick in pride of place on the mantlepiece. Gorgeous!

This is unrelated to the post, but I couldn’t help but wonder what happened to Shayla. She hasn’t moved out, has she?

HI Layla, I loved this post and am tempted to purchase a few of the faux branches that you shared. They’re so real looking and perfect for this transition between seasons. I was wondering if you have any favorite links to vessels to house the faux branches in this post. Any ideas for affordable large glass vases/jars? What height works best for these tall fauxs? Thanks, girl! You always inspire me.
