If you’ve visited a time or two, you may have gathered that I’ve got a thing for quotes…and taking pictures…and blogging…and all things lettered. So, I think I’ll start a new “thing” on Thursdays.
Thought-full Thursdays.
Just one simple photo, covered in words strung together in a way that speaks straight to my (and your?) soul. Today, this quote I shared on Instagram earlier this week:
Wow, did that baby hit STRAIGHT home.
How ’bout you? Are you an intro-extro, too?

Such a perfect quote, Layla! You always find the MOST wonderful quotes!! I’m looking forward to ‘Thought-Full Thursdays.’ Layla, you are an artist and an inspiration in so many ways! ♡
Oh this quote is so true. I am a musician and oil painter. I want to express my self through my art, but I am such an introvert. Some people are surprised when they see me perform. They assume I’m so quiet. Others are surprised that I’m not a social butterfly offstage. It really is a “tension” between two extremes.
Wow Layla! This quote captured my attention immediately. Sure hits home for me. Right now I’m in the hiding mode after the high of getting everything ready for a Vintage Market here in Michigan that got postponed for 2 months due to weather this past weekend. Now I have a whole house full of painted furniture to sell. Love all your quotes. Looking forward to thoughful Thursdays.
I just wanted to pop in to say I received my first blog-threads shirt the other day and I LOVE IT!! Now I wish I could go back and buy them all! Been a follower of yours for over 5 years. Thank you for continuing to make me smile 🙂
Yes! I am a definite “intro-extro.”
wow. so wow.
Layla,
Yes, I’m an intro-extro, too. There is definitely a tension between the two. I enjoy being alone, reading, watercolor, drawing, quiet time with my LORD. But I also like to share my thoughts, encourage others and “have my say” about life; and I don’t mind public speaking, as long as it’s not too public ☺️. Being retired has made the balancing act even more challenging, more wonderful.
Looking forward to an update on the adoption process.

I just read this quote to my 15 year old daughter this morning. She stopped in her tracks, looked up from her iPhone (no small feat) and very firmly agreed. Hubby is a musician, I am the visual artist (home, print, painting, you name it), both daughters sing, but the eldest is a writer and the youngest is a photographer and painter. The one thread we have in common is our desire to be with people until that moment when you just can’t do it any more. The only thing that will bring you happiness is solitude. But something funny happens after awhile…you get tired of being in your own head and crave contact with others. Every artist type, no matter their medium, seems to be intro-extro. The very conflict of it can sometimes drive you to the edge.
This is so true! And I love reading the comments, hearing other people’s take on it. It’s so nice to know I’m not alone in the intro-extro balancing act!
I can see I’m going to love thoughtful Thursday’s!! That quote definitely hits home. Thanks Layla for sharing.

My husband says I am an “extroverted introvert”:-) Thanks for this, and all the other, great quote(s)!
YES, TOTALLY, THIS IS EXACTLY MY PERSONALITY! THANK YOU FOR SHARING, XOXO!
I quote many of us “wear” on a daily basis…
Wow, very well said and true! I tend to jump back into my cocoon on a regular basis, only to come out of the hole when I’m excited to show what I’ve learned, created or discovered.
Praying for your trip back to visit Sweet P, & it won’t be long and he’ll be coming home – enjoying the cocoon of love and safety with you two in your precious home and church…..that’ll catapult his talents and gifts to inspire the world to greater things and people to The Lord……….
I always said I was an closet extrovert! This is so true for me. 🙂
Nope, much to the exhaustion of those who know me I am an extroverted extrovert lol!
I’m an artist and I flit back and forth between the two extremes. I always felt a little lost with those labels, until I discovered the term ambi-vert! I can be both and neither, love spending time with my friends, but then retreating to express the deepest things in my artwork alone. Great quote, thanks for sharing!
