My baby will be 8 years old on Saturday! 😀
He continues to come especially alive in autumn and winter. One day not long ago, he took a big whiff of the chilly air outside and said, “Mama, it smells like when I first came home!” Another day, he said, “Mama, it smells just like when I met Grandmé Jude“. Yesterday morning, I watched him walk out onto the front porch and take BIG breath in before breakfast. I love knowing that just smelling the air at Christmastime will always remind him of home. 🙂
In preparation for his birthday on Saturday, “Mr. Effervescent” decided that we should decorate our Christmas tree a little earlier this year, and you know I was on board for that!
We usually do a real tree though, so boy was he stoked when I told him that the folks at Balsam Hill invited me to be a part of their 12 Bloggers of Christmas series this year and were sending over a tree for us to decorate. He anxiously anticipated the arrival of their Brewer Spruce for several days and then (unbeknownst to me) excitedly dragged the big box inside all by himself when it finally arrived!
The 12 Bloggers of Christmas series runs through Wednesday and each day four bloggers will share posts about their Christmas trees. I’ve linked to everyone at the end of this post and I’ll update the links on Wednesday with all of the bloggers’ trees once everyone has them posted.
And speaking of Balsam Hill, they’re also running a 12 Days of Giveaways that started yesterday and continues through November 29, 2019. They are giving away lots of beautiful items and you can click here for all the details: 12 Days of Giveaways.
They’re also offering TLC readers a coupon code that will be valid from now through December 15th. Just enter code: TLC10OFF at checkout to save 10% off any order of $250 or more. This can be used on any sale items and regular-priced items on the site!
Now without further ado…here’s our Country Cozy Christmas Tree!
I love how their foliage mimics the color and texture of real evergreen branches and that the light string connections are made automatically inside the trunk. Just connect the bottom, middle and top sections of the tree together, plug the tree into the wall, and voila. Easy peasy!
I’m crazy about the Juliette tree skirt:
We haven’t started shopping for gifts to wrap yet, but I’m so inspired to get creative with my gift wrap again this year!
I love all the ornaments they sent over to play with too:
(Village Cloche ornaments)
(French Country ornaments)
(Pom Pom ornaments)
(Antiqued Snowflake ornaments)
(Alpine Ski ornaments)
Here’s a sneak peek of it with the lights on:
They’re LED lights so they don’t ever feel hot. And unlike the cold light emitted from traditional LEDs, their energy-efficient Candlelight LED lights provide a warm glow reminiscent of a candle’s flame.
Steevenson is over-the-moon excited about how it all came together, so I can’t thank Balsam Hill enough for giving us a chance to play!
I hope you and yours have fun decorating this year too! If you need more inspiration, don’t forget to click through the links below to see everybody else’s trees…

I don’t know if Balsam Hill is using this as a contest and I haven’t seen the other trees, but you WIN! It is just perfect!!

Love that he can smell home. My husband went to Table Rock Lake with his Grandparents for years. When we go there he smells the air too and brings back memories for him. Love the tree.
LeAnne
The tree is beautiful! Did you make the chunky knit garland? It’s really cute!
Layla
Thank you, LeAnne! I got the garland from Crate & Barrel last year!
Kris
I was also wondering about the garland. So pretty!
I love that Steevenson is playing Sorry! That’s a favorite of mine. I’m in denial that he is almost 8 years old, though. Didn’t you just pick him up yesterday? 🙂
Aunt Chriss

oh my gosh – I was just going to ask how they recommend keeping it fresh all the way till Christmas when I went back to read again and realized it’s artificial! That is the MOST amazing artificial tree I’ve ever seen! Was it easy to put together?
