Remember that cute little bedside chest I got from my friend Mary a while back?

I finally hooked ‘er up with some knobs, so I can actually open the drawers without using a kitchen utensil now…

I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner. There’s nothing like a buncha’ drawer-fronts covered in knobs to help keep surfaces (a little) tidier. All my “stuff” is tucked inside it now- instead of on top of it, like it used to be.
I went with some simple, inexpensive, oil-rubbed bronze knobs from Lowes…

My groom, on the other hand, went with some bright red tulips from Walmart, the day before I got home from Nashville…

…so he is more than welcome to continue keeping his “stuff” on top of his bedside chest.

Those tulips are strikingly BEAUTIFUL! I think its only fair to keep a fresh batch on your newly adorned nightstand into Spring! 🙂
Ooh, it looks fabulous! And those flowers add the perfect touch. Way to go, buddy!
(the title of your post made me giggle.. hee hee)

Hahaha. My hubby is the same way with STUFF all over his nightstand and on his dresser. I bought him an organizer tray for his dresser but the stuff just keeps coming. I guess my stuff just lands in my purse instead!
That bedside dresser is adorable and the knobs are perfect.
The new knobs look great! Isn’t it nice to be able to open the drawers. And how sweet of your hubby to buy tulips! My hubby hasn’t ever bought flowers for me.
It looks gorgeous! And the tulips are lovely too. 🙂
Beautiful! 🙂
Looks great! And the tulips are beautiful!
How sweet!!! Those tulips are perfect! Make me think of spring!! 🙂
My husband has piles all over the house. If I could keep it to ONE nightstand I would be thrilled. He is like a squirrel. Little pockets of crap everywhere!
Kevin is a rockstar on many levels……. 😛
I so agree with you! He is a keeper.
You gals are awesome!
Kev
That Kevin! 🙂 (I loved our little chat about how we got so lucky with our swoony dudes!)
Also, I think I’ve said it before, but I HAVE THAT PITCHER!
We are twins.
Twins that live TOO FAR AWAY FROM EACH OTHER!!!!
🙂
the dresser looks so nice…mary has the best furniture, i bought a dresser from her as well!
what is it with men and their messy dresser/table tops? my husband is the worst with this!!
What a great choice for your knobs. And a great choice of a man who still buys you flowers 😉
I posted about tulips today, and reminisced about the time when my husband would buy me flowers. I love tulips so much that I buy them for myself.
SOOOO pretty, everything, really. I am going to be painting my bedroom furniture soon. It’s a lovely shade of knotty pine right now. I will be using your dresser as an inspiration. And…are those Combo’s on Kevin’s side table. Brings back memories!
The knobs look fantastic, we have oil rubbed bronze on our kitchen cabinets. The tulips also look beautiful on this lovely chest.

I loved seeing the mess on Kevin’s bedside table! It’s real life. I just found your blog this weekend and love it! You have a true gift. Thanks for sharing and thanks for your inspiration, Joycelyn at http://peacetravelers.blogspot.com/
Oh he did good!!!! Nothing prettier than a jug full of tulips!
I love this bedside chest. The knobs deffinitly complete the chest. Thanks for sharing such a cute idea.
They look great! We used the same ones in our last house and loved them!
I always have projects 99% finished too 😉 it’s a mind game I think, once I get that far my mind has moved on to the next project.
Lovely. I heart Walmart tulips! $5 very well spent – I have some and mine have lasted over a week! Thanks for the prettiness!
Nice choice! I love oil rubbed bronze. The flowers are a nice added touch too; what a sweet Hubs. 🙂
Soooo simple and pretty! I love $5 walmart flowers too…
clearly, that is awesome. and kevin is too. 😉
Such a sweetie! The flowers look beautiful in that pitcher!
Awww! that’s so sweet. Love the knobs on the chest o’drawers and…
Kevin is sweet too! LOL… don’t you love (the) guy that get you flowers, just because?
So cute Layla. Love the the knobs, the tulips, and even Kevins’ nightstand. I will have to “accidentally” leave this post up on the computer screen so the hubs will get the hint that flowers go a long way! ;oP
I love it ! 🙂 It’s so pretty ! Gorgeous !
It looks great!
Isnt it funny how such a small thing like adding the knobs can take forever and one just continues to open them with various other tools instead of sacrificing five minutes to add some real knobs? 😉
Layla,
Love the look you created by adding the right finishing touch to your bedside chest. The red tulips look stunning in the white pitcher. So sweet of Kevin to make your welcome home that much more special. Thomas is also a romantic and gives me flowers often. Aren’t we the lucky ones!
Your Friend,
Deborah
I love it!
.. tulips are my favorite flowers… so win-win! 🙂
Have a great week!

Are those gummy bears next to the sweet tea?????????????
I love how it looks. Are you loving the new space? My hubby put oil rubbed drawer pulls on our bedroom furniture…I wish I had taken a before picture because it made an ENORMOUS difference. I was thinking we would get rid of all the furniture before the new pulls went on but it all looks fab now.
Layla stop by my bog sometime! Yours will always be one of my favs!!!
Steph.
The knobs look great. They go perfectly with the bed. Can’t wait for the tulips to actually start popping out of the ground here. C’mon Spring!
I just love coming here everyday! Ahh.. Such a breath of fresh air 🙂
I triple love the bedroom. Always amazing.. your sense of style and how to apply it.
Thanks for alwyas being willing to share your ideas of what works.
It ALWAYS inspries me! 🙂

your photos are so amazing…the tulips are good but dont styrofoam cups drive you nuts..my husband has them constantly..will even refill them back up..one of my biggest pet peaves..i hate seeing them around my house.i am so OCD…
your room looks amazing..matine toile is one of my fave bedding groups of all times..i love the knife pleat ruffle on the quilt…i used it in my recent hgtv.com little shoot..so cute.
love yall!
Kevin does the same thing with Styrofoam cups! He likes to crunch on ice throughout the day, so I always make sure I leave him ONE cup somewhere in the house. 🙂
Looks adorable! So cute! Especially love the Popeye’s cup. 🙂
Yall are “Real” people living in a “real” house and not just residing in the picture perfect dollhouse! 😉 The knobs look Great and Way to Go Kevin on the Tulips!! 🙂
simple and perfect… this is pretty much EXACTLY what I’ll be replicating in our bedroom – THX!

I’m relieved to see that you have ‘Stuff’ strung all over the top of your dresser too! Your room looks fantastic!
The tulips and the sweet tea cup actually work together… same greens and reds 🙂
I dearly love that chest for a bedside table. Tulips are a pretty nice touch! I think I’d keep him.
Hah..just like our bedroom — my side pretty — his side….well…..lived in.
I think his and her bedside tables are a great idea. We have IKEA dressers functioning as those in our room and we love it. And even though they did not need knobs to open we did add on some hardware too. I would have love to seen pictures of you opening it with kitchen tools though. Hehe

The “his” bedside cracked me up. That is just what my husband’s looks like. Men!
Yes I remember that chest!
When you don’t want it any more send it my way!!!
I love it!!!
ha…that’s a beautiful trade-off, methinks. 😀
That’s an ADORABLE table! We all need a friend like Mary! I have started changing all my hardware in the house to oil rubbed bronze. I’m going to try a spray finish to cover over some of them. Any recommendations?
Rust-O-Leum!
🙂
Love your little bedside chest…its adorable…especially with its new hardware!! And the red tulips are gorgeous!! I love tulips…they are my fav!! What a sweet hubby you have!
It’s always nice when you can use your utensils for eating and not opening drawers. hee hee hee (been there, done that!!)
Love the knobs, but I love the thoughtfulness of your hubby more! I think Kevin might just be a keeper! 😉
Love ya!
missy
I love having a hubby that will bring me flowers!! Yes definitely!! Hang onto him! And let him put what he wants on the bedside table!
So lovin the cute knobs!! Heading to Lowes this week, I’ll take a looksie!
God bless!
