My Clean Makeup Routine

May 24, 2018 By Layla

Hey, friend!

It’s the last day of school over here, so we’re gearing up for another big transition. I’m hoping to find some kind of fun, summer program that Steevenson actually likes going to (he’s very picky) because our little extrovert is definitely going to miss the companionship of his kindergarten class.

In other news, I get asked about my current makeup routine a lot, so I finally put together a video that I could share here today. I’ve slowly but surely been moving toward a more “cleaner” beauty routine (meaning, items that are more natural and contain less chemicals) and boy have I enjoyed finding things that work and that I actually love!

The bulk of items in my current makeup routine are from my Savvy Minerals kit which is the Warm 2 kit.

Push play on the video below to see how I use them! 😀

Have you heard of or used Savvy Minerals? I was so nervous to try a mineral-based foundation, but like I said in the video, when you combine it with the misting spray, it really turns into more of a cream. And the way you swirl it into your skin creates the most beautiful look and feel! I was so surprised!

I’m mentioning my kit here today because there’s a very rare sale on the Savvy Minerals kits until tomorrow (Friday). When I say “rare”, I mean that the last time is was on sale was in early 2016…so if you’ve been thinking about trying it out, now is definitely the time to do it! 😀

Savvy Minerals is a part of the Young Living company, whose products I also love. We use many of their oils, and home & personal care products. Some of my favorite items are their soaps, lotions, cleaners, toothpastes, and of course their amazing essential oils. And as you can see from the graphic above, a couple of their essential oil starter kits are on sale ’til tomorrow too!

You can purchase those (or any of their premium starter kits) as a RETAIL CUSTOMER at YoungLiving.com, but the most affordable way to place an order is to sign up as a WHOLESALE MEMBER. Signing up as a wholesale member does NOT mean that you have to sell Young Living products! It just means you are ordering a starter kit AND that you will receive 24% off ALL future retail orders on any of Young Living’s products.

I’d love to have you enroll with my group as a Wholesale Member! Just CLICK HERE and enter the number 14705278 in both the “Enroller” and “Sponsor ID” fields.

Once you’re connected to my group, I can invite you to our private Facebook group where you’ll have access to an amazing support system (many are long-time and close friends of mine) who can help you with anything you want to know about essential oils and all of Young Living’s toxin-free products. You don’t have to join us there, but it will always been there as a helpful resource if you need it.

Here are photos of all the Premium Starter Kits you can choose from to get started if you aren’t interested in any of the ones on sale until Friday but still want to give Young Living a whirl:

**Remember, only the Dewdrop, Desert Mist and Savvy Minerals kits are on sale**

I started with a starter kit like Dewdrop (it was called something else when I purchased it several years ago) and then I got the Savvy Minerals makeup starter kit. I should also mention that I got the Warm 2 kit.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about signing up, ordering, or any of Young Livings’ other products. I’m always happy to help!

Layla

PS- The liptick I’m wearing in the video is called Adore and the lip gloss is called Abundance. The mascara and eyeliner are not Savvy Minerals products, but here are the links to those in case you’re curious:

Love your tutorial. You have such a great sense of humor!!!! I used bare minerals years ago, but my fifty something skin prefers some moisture. Did your face feel powdery or dry after applying? Thanks for being real!!!

I have the same question. Bare Mineral makeup was too dry in my fifties too, I had to switch back to a liquid.

Hi! I’ll be 44 next week, and was soooo worried about the Savvy Minerals being too dry, but because the foundation turns into a cream when mixed with the misting spray (which smells DIVINE!), it creates the most luxurious texture and look. I just love it! Can’t believe I resisted it for so many months! I love knowing it’s chemical-free too. Looking forward to switch over to lots more of YL’s products this year.

Is it obvious you use mascara?

Oh! I didn’t link to my mascara or eyeliner I’m using right now because it’s not in the Savvy Living kit. (Their mascara is actually sold out for a while because it’s so popular!) Here you go:

      Pure Anada Mascara

It’s WONDERFUL and natural too! 😀

And here’s a link to the eyeliner:

      Hope that helps!

Hi- my 16 year old daughter suffers from excema on her, as well as acne. She is also allergic to gluten. Do you know if the make up is gluten free?

    • Layla

      May 24, 2018 at 11:57 am

Yes, Savvy is formulated without any ingredients that contain gluten, it’s just not certified gluten-free.

And here’s the lip to the lip liner in case anyone is curious about that too!

Here’s the brow pomade and brush I use to apply it:

    Hello ~

I can’t seem to find the tutorial. Am I missing something obvious?

      Hi friend!

The video should be right below the sentence about clicking to the play button to watch. Are you not seeing it there?

My skin tends to have a reddish under tone. What color do you recommend?

      Hi Maria!

I think it depends how light or dark your skin is. Which one of those four kits feels like the right lightness of darkness tone-wise?
