Farmhouse Bench

Jul 26, 2013 By Layla

Remember that farmhouse stool I told you I was going to paint and sell at The Chapel Market?

Tuxedo Cat Window Bench

I think Kit-Cat has other plans in mind. 😉

Kevin and I spent the week working on our “presto change-o” virtual room makeover class for ShootFlyShoot.com, so we’re really looking forward to spending some time outside this weekend.

We went for a happy hour bike ride last night after we finished recording the class and man did it feel good to be outside after spending so many days inside! I captured part of our ride on Instagram if you’d like to click the “play” button and watch the Gift we witnessed along the way:

Sun Rays

We’re off to work on Keith’s bookcase trim tomorrow, then I’m heading up to the 127 Corridor sale for a fun gig next week. Will you be shopping the “World’s Longest Yard Sale” this year? Alabama peeps: do you have any super-photogenic must-stop, must-shop, must-see, must-eat recommendations between Gadsden, AL and Signal Mountain, TN?

127 Corridor

I’m in charge of scouting locations for our team, so I’m on the hunt for great-lookin’ booths and fantastic-tasting food right now. (And hopefully I’ll find some goodies for The Chapel Market while we’re out and about, too!)

To follow along with our 127 Corridor sale adventures, join me over on Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram!

Mentone, Alabama in the upper east corner of the state is awesome and pic worthy. Also Rock City, TN (the famous “See Rock City) is sweet because the street names are all Disney related. 🙂

I highly recommend checking out the quaint little town of Mentone, Alabama (the route goes through the town). Have lunch or dinner at The Wildflower Cafe in Mentone. Very good food and atmosphere! http://www.mentonewildflower.com
And just before you get to Mentone, you’ll go through DeSoto State Park, and just off the route is DeSoto Falls (watch for the signs). Very pretty!
    Have fun! 🙂

Squeee!! I’m excited about the world’s longest garage sale! I didn’t realize it extended all the way to our territory in the mitten! (Living under rock). Love that picture of kit-cat, by the way 🙂

If you will be in the Signal Mountain/Chattanooga area, I definitely recommend eating at River Street Deli (don’t judge it on appearances and I always get the sandwich with apples and apple butter…delish!) or Lupi’s pizza. Or for something a little nicer/heavier…The Terminal…best bison burgers and sweet potato fries I’ve ever had! I love this city and I’m sure you will too! So much to see and do, although you will probably be busy Yard Sale-ing!

I have been looking forward to the class! Is it something you can do with Photoshop Elements? I have Elements 10 and I would love to do my own presto change-o, so I’m hoping it transferes!

Noccalula Falls in Gadsden, it is actually where the yard sales starts I think? At least that is where it start when I was going up in Gadsden. 🙂

I bet if you gave him a little stack of soft blankies, he would think he’s in heaven! ^_^
