Just a quick post to wish you a happy weekend, and to let ya know we’re partnering up with our friends Sarah (Thrifty Decor Chick), Rhoda (Southern Hospitality) and Kate (Centsational Girl) for another round of fall-themed decorating ideas link parties this year!
Kev and I will kick things off on Tuesday, September 18th with a fall table ideas link party…
…and keep in mind, it doesn’t have to be a dining room table- any table top surface vignette or decorating idea is welcome!
Next, Rhoda will host a fall-inspired outdoor idea link party on Thursday, the 20th.
Kate will kick off week #2 with a fall mantel link party on Tuesday, the 25th…
(again, shelves, ledges, and bookcases are welcome, too!)
…and Sarah will wrap things up with an easy fall decor link party on Thursday, the 27th.
It’s always fun to see what everyone creates! Here are some links to last years parties:
Ours: Ideas For Fall
Rhoda’s: Fall Door Decor
Kate’s: Easy Fall Crafts
Sarah’s: Fall Outdoor Spaces
So much awesome autumn-y inspiration there! Hope to see you at the 2012 parties next month!

I can guarantee that I won’t be organized to participate in the tablescape link up (my parents are coming to see our house for the first time right before then!), I’m going to do my darndest to have something for the rest!
Thanks for co-hosting these!
Layla
Oops! I just changed the text so that folks know it doesn’t have to be a *dining* table. ANY fall table top vignette is welcome at our party! 😀

YAY! I am not kidding, yesterday I was standing in front of a fall display at the craft store thinking…’I wonder when Layla will show us her fall mantel…’

Really like the centerpiece with the almonds, pecans and moss, going to have to make one like that. I think I’m going to replace the feathers with wheat or maybe bittersweet… it makes me feel bad to know a pheasant had to die just to decorate my table. I know, he was probably raised just for that reason but I would find it depressing every time I saw it. I guess we can’t help the background we have, I’m a sucker for any of the critters.

I can’t wait! I’m SOOO ready for anything Fall!

I’m looking forward to seeing all the Fall links. But sometimes I wish there was a way for those of us who don’t have a blog to share something as well. Maybe I’m proud of a mantel or tabletop I put together, but I don’t have a website to refer you to. Sometime it feels like you don’t count unless you’re a blogger! ( I know that’s not true, but just sayin’) Am I missing something ?
Layla
Hi Lisa!
There’s actually a service that allows folks to create one post so that you can share photos with friends. I’ll have to check with my hubby to find out what it is, but that would be an easy way to put together posts for web link parties! Hope to see you next month! 🙂

Here it is, Lisa!

Layla & Kevin,
I was introduced to your site by my a friend who loves decorating and anything home….and I have fallen in love! From the moment I opened your blog I was drawn in….then to find out you are Southerns warmed my heart…..
(We are in CA and I appreciate my southern decorating roots more now than ever. I am so proud to be a little out of the ordinary with my design here in CA)
then your last blog on Compassion International made me cry! We have loved & sponsored Emmanuel & Sambayow for several years and knowing my new favorite designers are giving to others so freely made me so happy.
My husband has left his job as an officer in the army and I am starting my design business and we are slowly colliding into a designing duo. It has been so much fun! So, a BIG FAT thank you! I look forward to opening my email and seeing an update from you guys daily! Keep up the amazing work and know you are appreciated!
Vanessa
Can’t wait!! I’ve been pinning fall ideas like crazy so now I guess I have to start narrowing it down, right? 😉

Dear Layla & Kevin,
I just downloaded the e-book and can’t wait to start reading. I live in the Mediterranean but my husband is from St Louis (MO). Our houses are made of stone and tile and do not really have a cottage-y feel. But I am determined to at least try to create a cottage look in one room. It is still a work in progress. I love whites and aquas (and the faded beachy look) but my husband loves bright colours. So our decorating style is a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I love your blog and have found it to be very inspirational.
Lauren
I’ve been kind of sad about summer coming to en end, so this for sure cheers me up and gets me excited and ready for fall. Thanks!

Can’t wait- looks so fun. That leaf wreath is so beautiful!

Maybe this will light a fire under my hubby to get me my fireplace done? He is the tile layer… so it’s all up to him now 😉

I have a hard time decorating for fall, for some reason. It just doesn’t come naturally to me like with winter, spring, and summer. I have been roaming the internet for awhile looking for some really good fall decor inspiration, and I’ve finally found it here! Thank you!
