Country Cottage Style Tablescape (And Let’s Go To HomeGoods!)

Aug 3, 2018 By Layla

Happy Friday, friend!

I thought I’d share another Let’s Go excursion video here today in case you missed it on Instagram the first time around. A handful of folks have had trouble viewing these here, but after doing some troubleshooting, it always has to do with what internet browser they’re trying to view it with. If this one gives you trouble, you may have to try a different browser. Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox- there are lots to choose from.

This was from a couple of weeks ago when Kevin and I went to HomeGoods. It was fun to be back in the store after not going for so many months. Lots of new inventory!

Here’s how I ended up using those super soft (Rachel Ashwell “The Prairie”) cloth napkins I picked up that day. I’m crazy about the patterns and colors on them, so I went with a wide, loose fold that would show several areas of each napkin. (vs. rolling or folding them in a way that would only feature one side, for instance.)

I put the two plain blue ones in the center of the table because they were too pretty to not use and I thought it would make a good spot to set some dishes of food. (And protect the white tablecloth!)

Here’s the tutorial I used to learn how to create the simple folds: Classic 3-point Napkin Fold

No napkin rings, no name cards…I just wanted to show that simple can be really sweet, and by using a combination of patterns, you can create a fun and farm-y feel.

Happy weekend!

Layla

PS- I don’t always share my Let’s Go videos here because it’s really an Instagram series and it does take a lot of time to get all the individual videos transferred and edited together over here on my computer. I do try to do it every now and then, but if you want to see *every* Let’s Go segment, I save them all in the Highlights on my Instagram page:

A fun trip and I’m glad you were able to overcome the anxiety to do the shop alone once again! I get in stores and almost immediately want to run out. Speed shopping has become my norm, and I constantly forget what I came in for, requiring another trip to panic-land. Loved the lamp! I have made my own napkins before, just so I can get the fabric/colors/textures I wanted. Easy-peasy! But these finds of yours are so fun!

You are awesome!!! I never knew I had social anxiety. Not quite the same, but I definitely get your drift.

Proud of ya. Your videos never fail to make me smile and honestly, laugh out loud!!!

Sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one…..well maybe not the whole time.

Have a great weekend, you deserve it!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to put Let’s Go! on your computer. I always love them and I don’t do Instagram. 🙁

I continue to love your Let’s go ! Those mixed napkins packs are perfect/ they do the hard work of mixing patterns for you! Great find!

Your panic attacks amaze me, you are SOO talented and creative and happy, and yet those attacks come out of no where! I’m sorry you have to deal with those, but if you didn’t share about them we would never know what you go through ! Hang tough sweetie!

Just a tip, I was one that was having trouble viewing the videos here, and for me it was my ad pop up blocker. I disabled it for your site and then i could view the videos.
